Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the motivation of women to work, analyze The Participation of women in decision making and analyze the contribution of women's income to family income in the smoked fish processing business. This research was conducted in Manggar Baru Village, East Balikpapan District, Balikpapan City. The sample used is the processing of smoked fish in Manggar Baru Village totaling 6 processors, the sampling method used is the census method. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis method and income analysis. The results of this study indicate that women's motivation is divided into 2, namely internal ; driving factors the wife chooses to work because it is based on decisions that arise due to unfulfilled own desires and external ; driving factors the family is mutually supportive and helps in processing activities. The Participation of women in the production process is (100%), the husband's role in buying raw materials is (33%) and The Participation of husband and wife in strengthening capital is (33%). The Participation of women in making decisions to work in processing businesses ranging from investment/capital to fishery businesses, management of processing businesses to marketing of fishery products, wife's decision making is greater (67%). The contribution of women's income in helping to increase family income is high with an average of (80%). Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the level of producers perception in using social media as a means of promotion and determine the role of social media as a means of promotion of marketing envelopes. The research method used was a survey method, quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques with a total sample of 11 people. The results of this study indicate that the producers perception of social media is in the medium category, with a score reached 27,91 which is in the range of scores of 20,01 – 28,00. Abstract

The research aimed to find out what productive activities a fisherman's wife does to increase family income, knowing how much a fisherman's wife contributed to family income and knowing what factors that affected the decision of a fisherman's wife to engage in productive activities. About 50 fishing families were taken as samples of research, sampling performed on Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Analysis of the data in this study used quantitative descriptive analyses. Based on the analysis obtained the results that the productive activities carried by the wife of fishermen in the form of salted fish processing, fish crackers processing, sales of fresh fish, merchants, and service providers. The contribution of the fishermen's wife revenue to the fishermen family's income is still in a very low category of 19.31%. The influence of the factor in the decision of the fisherman's wife in the productive activity was the outpouring of productive work time. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how people's perceptions to gender roles in families, to describe the division of labor in productive, reproductive, and social activities, to examine how the opportunities of access and control that men and women, to examine how the opportunities of decision-making that men and women have in the seaweed cultivation business. The sample in this research amounted to 30 families of seaweed cultivators with the criteria of a married couple using a qualitative approach, which was obtained by interview using a questionnaire and direct observation data which obtained by analyzed descriptively. The result of this research indicate that: (1) Perceptions of gender that are most highly held by both men and women are "men and women realize that gender differences do not have to be opposed in living a family, but rather be mutually supportive and complementary". (2) The division of labor regarding to the activities of productive is more dominantly done by men while the activities of reproductive are more dominantly done by women. (3) Access in terms of family resources can be accessed by men and women, while in control pattern it spreads between men and women. (4) Decision-making in activities of productive is more dominated by men, but in the social sector decision-making patterns are made together between men and women. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the type of information needed by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village and determine the type of media used by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village. The entire study was carried out for 14 months. This research is a research that uses survey research methods (survey method). By taking 40 respondents using disproportional stratified random sampling in a community that is active, open and has been in contact with people or institutions outside their environment, the data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive by describing the data state data of fishermen community objects in Muara Pantuan Village. The results showed that the type of information needed by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village was aquaculture technology and capture fisheries technology, while the type of media used by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village was interpersonal media and electronic media. Interpersonal media in the form of communication between fellow fishermen is the most commonly used media in the Muara Pantuan Village, while the electronic media most frequently used is a mobile telephone in the form of wireless communication that connects the community in Muara Pantuan Village with the community outside the Muara Pantuan Village. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat keuntungan, mengetahui tingkat kelayakan dalam usaha pengolahan Gammi Cempa berdasarkan indikator RCR, BEP (Produksi, Harga, dan Penjualan), Payback Period serta ROI (Return on investment) serta mengetahui saluran pemasaran Gammi Cempa di Kampung Giring-Giring Kecamatan Biduk-Biduk. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Biduk-Biduk, Kabupaten Berau. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu metode sensus (jenuh) dengan jumlah responden 5 pengolah Gammi Cempa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode survey. Analisis data menggunakan rumus total biaya, penerimaan, keuntungan, revenue cost ratio (RCR), BEP produksi, harga dan penjualan, payback period, dan return on investment (ROI). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan total keuntungan sebesar Rp. 4.577.180,-/Bln dengan rata-rata Rp.915.436,-/Bln. Usaha pengolahan Gammi Cempa dilihat dari indikator RCR, BEP, Payback Period dan ROI layak untuk dilanjutkan. Pemasaran produk Gammi Cempa ini hanya di Wilayah Kampung Giring-Giring Kecamatan Biduk-Biduk. Saluran pemasaran yang terbentuk adalah saluran pemasaran tingkat 0 dan tingkat 1.

Abstract

The aim to know the role of fishery Extension Worker in guiding “Mekar Bersama” Management and Marketing Group in Muara Sembilang Sub-Village, Samboja Sub-District. Sampling determination used census method which is all population members (“Mekar Bersama” Management and Marketing Group) amounting to 11 people became the research respondents. Score data (highest score is 3 and lowest score is 1) from the questionnaire guided by likert scale was analyzed using interval class formulation. The result of this research is the role of fishery Extension Worker in developing “Mekar Bersama” Management and Marketing Group with the average score of 59.81 at the range of 50.01-63.00 included to the high level. It means that the Extension Worker in Muara Sembilang Sub-Village is able to implement his Extension Worker role as motivator, catalyst, educator organizator, communicator, and advisor

Abstract

This research aim is to know Mina Lestari group members characteristic, to know group dynamic level, to know adoption level of artificial feeding technology innovation and to know characteristic correlation with innovation adoption stage also to know group dynamic correlation toward adoption level of artificial feeding. Sampling method used is purposive sampling method with total respondent of 9 people. Data analysis methods used are descriptive analysis method and quantitative analysis with Rank Spearman correlation statistic test. Research result of Mina Lestari group members characteristic are observed by age who are dominant on 44-55 years old, formal education are Elementary School and Senior High School, Non-formal education of respondent majority are they do not ever join training, time of dominant fish farming have experience of 4-6 years, majority membership period in group are 5-6 years, and joining motivation on majority respondent because of their own willingness. Commulatively dynamic level of Mina Lestari group is categorized as high with score value of 64,11. Commulatively the adoption level of Mina Lestari feeding technology innovation is categorized medium with score value of 32,78. There are significant correlation between Mina Lestari group members characteristic on age indicator with conciousness, there are very significant correlation between formal education with conciousness stage and significant correlation between non-formal education with trial stage. There are significant correlation between Mina Lestari group dynamic toward adoption level on function indicator and group assignment with assessment stage and very significant correlation between group fish farming indicator with implementation stage.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the business and the profit sharing pattern of fisheries fishermen in Tanjung Laut Indah Village. The research used the survey method and applied purposive sampling that selected 45 respondents based on 3 types of fishing gear. The respondents composed by 15 owners and 30 crews of capture fisheries business. The method of data analysis using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of this research indicated that the average income of gill net fishermen in Tanjung Laut Indah Village was Rp 15.314.800/month/respondent in the harvest season and Rp 4.634.800/month/respondent in the non harvest season. The average profit of troll line fisherman was Rp. 12.742.033,33/month/respondent in the harvest season and Rp. 9.432.033,33/month/respondent in the non harvest season. The average profit for barrier trap fisherman in Tanjung Laut Indah Village was Rp. 9.619.800/month / respondent in the harvest season and Rp. 3.379.800/ month / respondent in the non harvest season. The profit sharing pattern of catch fisheries business in Tanjung Laut Indah Village that used gill nets, troll line, and barrier trap swhowed the same pattern, that were 50% of profit shared for the owner and 50% for the fishermen crews.
