Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of patron-client relationships with fishermen and collectors in Jantur Baru Village and to find out the problems encountered in patron-client relationships with fishermen and collectors in Jantur Baru Village. The pattern of the patron-client relationship in Jantur Baru Village is a general pattern of reciprocity in which the employment relationship agreement made by the patron and the client does not set a time limit for the return of capital provided by the patron, in this case the patron to the client, in this case fishermen. The problems encountered in the patron-client relationship in Jantur Baru Village are found in two perspectives. The problem from the point of view of collectors (patrons) is that there are fishermen who secretly sell their catch to other collectors and the problem from the point of view of fishermen (clients) is that the purchase price set by the collectors is deemed inappropriate by fishermen.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the financial feasibility of freshwater fish farming at POKDAKAN Bengkuring Karya and Rundan Ali Sejahtera villages in Samarinda City, to find out a comparison of the level of feasibility between aquaculture with a monoculture system and a polyculture system, and to find out the inhibiting factors for cultivators. This research was conducted from July 2022 to July 2023 in the East Sempaja Village, Samarinda City. The sample is 8 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the monoculture system of fish farming (tilapia) was financially feasible with an NPV value of NPV: IDR 34.508.119, IRR: 99%, Net B/C Ratio: 4,80, PP: 1,246. Polyculture system fish farming business (tilapia and catfish) is financially feasible with NPV: IDR 51.952.582, IRR: 148%, Net B/C Ratio: 6,59, PP: 0,759. Polyculture system fish farming business (tilapia fish and  pangas catfish) is financially feasible with an NPV value of NPV: IDR 93.323.273, IRR: 198%, Net B/C Ratio: 9,16, PP: 0,546.. The polyculture system (tilapia and pangas catfish) produces the best financial feasibility. The constraints faced by fish cultivators in these 2 POKDAKAN are natural factors, slow fish growth, expensive feed, and active members.
