Abstract

Ibu rumah tangga dikategorikan sebagai pengatur lalu lintas informasi keluarga. Peranannya sangat sentral dalam mengontrol lalu lintas media yang bertebaran di gadget para anggota keluarga. Melalui dirinya, serbuan konten hoax atau fake news, hate speech, hingga malinformasi tertangkal. Ibu rumah tangga juga dapat menjadi embrio bagi ketahanan informasi masyarakat. Dari keluarga akan menebar ke lingkungan yang lebih. Tujuan membangun kesadaran bermedia dan meningkatkan ketahanan informasi dapat tercipta dengan banyaknya keluarga yang memiliki kecakapan dalam bermedia. Karena itu, untuk menambah jumlah ibu rumah tangga yang yang melek terhadap media, dilakukan kegiatan literasi. Agar mencerap informasi yang disampaikan, metode yang digunakan adalah face to face meeting dengan penyampaian materi yang dapat dimengerti mengenai penjelasan isi dan media melalui forum terbuka. Sebagai target group ibu-ibu warga Kecamatan Cibiru dapat memahami dan mengetahui mengenai media dengan segala isinya yang baik maupun yang mengandung efek kurang baik. Literasi media menjadi solusi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran bermedia masyarakat.

Abstract

In this Literature research, the researcher will analyze about the characterization from the several main character and Ivan Ilyich character analysis as the main character from the short stories: The Death of Ivan Ilyich Written by Leo Tolystoy. This short stories also has scores another triumph for Nobel Prize winner. This Short stories is the filled with Ivan Ilyich profound vision of life, as the honest Judgment of a high court prosecutor in 19th-century Russian miserable husband, the proud father, and upwardly-mobile member of Russia's professional class, the object of Tolstoy's unremitting satire. The researcher will completed the character explanation with the description about the several characterizations from the another main character base from the short story written by Leo Tolystoy. Short stories are short stories with a small page 20 until 50 pages, considerably longer, depicting a real life in a complex sequence of events. Rees states that short stories is the most widely being read of all kinds of literature (1973:106). The Literature research will analyze about the characterization from the several main character, and analyze the Ivan Ilyich character base from E.M. Foster (1927), and the Ivan Ilyich obsession base from the short stories with using the structural elements of literature study.

Abstract

Abstrak Guru sekolah formal yang memiliki peran ganda sebagai guru lembaga bimbingan belajar dituntut untuk mengelola kesannya dalam menjalani kedua profesi tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini: untuk mengetahui perbedaan manajemen kesan guru di lembaga pendidikan formal dan informal dari segi latar, penampilan, gaya, dan komunikasinya secara verbal dan nonverbal dalam memenuhi tuntutan profesinya berdasarkan konsep manajemen kesan dari Erving Goffman (1959) dan komunikasi interpersonal verbal dan non-verbal dari Joseph A. De Vito (1986). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan perspektif dramaturgi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pengelolaan kesan yang dilakukan oleh guru yang menjalankan perannya di lembaga yang berbeda. Di pendidikan infromal, guru memperlakukan siswa sebagai pelanggan tanpa menghiraukan pembentukan disiplin. Namun, saat di lingkungan sekolah formal cenderung lebih tegas dalam kedisiplinan siswa. Latar yang ditampilkan bimbingan belajar menunjukkan nuansa bisnis jasa terdapat stan pelayanan pelanggan, ruang diskusi untuk siswa berkonsultasi dengan guru, dan warna khas pada bangunannya. Segi penampilan dan gaya, guru di sekolah formal memakai atribut pakaian berbeda dan di lembaga bimbingan belajar guru memiliki aturan berbeda. Di lembaga pendidikan informal, secara verbal guru lebih fleksibel berkomunikasi dengan siswa, lebih banyak dalam berkomunikasi, memberi penjelasan, dan santai dalam menyampaikan teguran. Komunikasi non verbal oleh guru di lembaga bimbingan belajar lebih santai, fleksibel, dan menunjukkan kedekatan jarak. Komunikasi guru di sekolah formal, lebih kaku secara verbal, lebih sedikit mengkomunikasikan penjelasan, dan lebih tegas mengkomunikasikan teguran. Di sekolah formal, secara non verbal guru lebih menjaga wibawa dan jarak dengan siswa. Saat bertindak di luar perannya, guru bersikap santai atau non-formal dengan guru lain atau siswa selayaknya teman. Hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dibuat sebuah model perbedaan manajemen kesan guru di sekolah formal dan lembaga bimbingan belajar. Kata Kunci: manajemen kesan, studipendidikan, dramaturgi Abstract Teachers at formal school having double roles as teachers at informal educational institution are expected to manage their impressions in doing both of professions. The purpose of this research is to know the difference between teachers’ impression management in the formal and the informal education from the aspects of setting, performance, style, and both verbal and non verbal communication in fulfilling the professional demand based on the impression management concept from Erving Goffman (1959) and verbal, non verbal interpersonal communication from Joseph A. DeVito (1986). This research applies the method of the qualitative approach based on dramaturgy perspective. The result of this research shows the differences of impression manajement represented by the teachers in doing the roles at two different educational insitutions. When the teachers are at the informal education, they tend to treat the students as customers without concerning much about discipline establishment. However, when they are at the formal school, they tend to look more strict in shaping students’ discipline. The setting represented by informal education shows the nuance of service business where there is customer service stand, discussion room where students can consult to the teachers freely, and identic color on the building. From the performance and style aspects, teachers at formal school wear certain dress code in different days, and so in the informal education which applies different rule for dress code. In the informal education, teachers communicate verbally more flexible with the students, have more portion in communicating explanation, and look more relax in communicating reprimand. The non verbal communication at informal education is more relax, flexible, and shows closer approach. At the formal school, teachers are more rigid, in communicating verbally, has less portion in communicating explanation, and more strict in communicating reprimand. At school, teachers keep their authority more and keep farther approach with the students. In the backstage when teachers act outside their roles, they show more relax or non formal attitude, and interact with other teachers and students like joking with friends. The result of this research can be made into a model of differences of teachers’ impression management in the formal school and the informal educational institution. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the figure of speech in the poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” by William Wordsworth. The study's design is descriptive qualitative with no changes in the variables. It described the result of the semiotic analysis of the poetry “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud”. The research technique has been done by using the super reader theory of analysis by Michael Riffaterre which focuses on three concepts: displacing, distorting, and creating. The result of the analysis shows that William Wordsworth’s poem represents super reader theory. Displacing the meaning of semiotic Super Reader reveals figurative language such as metaphor, personification, simile, and synecdoche. The figurative language revealed by the displacing and distorted meaning shows how the reflection of solitudes is described and his view on the sound of crowded society in the romantic age. This creates meaning when he feels lonely, angry, and alienated from it. The figurative language of metaphor has more dominance in this poem that relates to distorting meaning that some phrases or clauses have ambiguity, contradiction, and nonsense.

Abstract

This article discusses the analysis of political communication and democratic dialogue in Indonesia as the largest democratic country which is currently carrying out a democratic process in the 2024 legislative and presidential elections. Another thing in various case studies in Indonesia highlights the principle problems in democracy. Election process, money politics, elite pragmatism, institutional weaknesses of political parties. The article also mentions the important role of dialogue in political communication and the potential for spreading misinformation and tending to attack political figures. Research shows that there is a tendency for democratic decline which has an impact on weakening the integrity of the electoral process. This reflects democracy which is still problematic in various aspects, starting from civil liberties, government functions, to the election process. As we know, several factors causing the decline of democracy include the growth of digital politics, populism, the economic transformation of society, and the impact of the pandemic. Talking about democracy today, as we have observed, many problems occur in the world because of stagnant dialogue due to broken bridges between civilizations. Dialogue and discussion efforts are one of the efforts to build a healthy democratic country. There is not a single democratic principle in the world that is perfect. In fact, until now democracy is still developing. The development of democracy in Indonesia continues to experience changes as a form of search for national identity which is marked by several failures. It was also stated that the various difficulties that befell Indonesia, ranging from the financial and monetary crisis to conflicts of interest, actually perfected democracy because society became more united and stronger. Indonesian democracy runs side by side with the largest number of Muslims and modernization. Democracy in Indonesia has its own characteristics. Therefore, democratization never stops. Talking about democracy will always be relevant.

Abstract

Abstract.  This research discusses about the implementation of marketing communication strategy on how music aggregator optimizes marketing mix through digital distribution. The aim of this research is to analyze various ways of marketing communication from the product, price, place and promotion which are the elements of marketing mix. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative which describes the whole efforts done by music aggregator, namely Noise Garage, in implementing marketing communication strategy to each element of marketing mix.  The data collection is done by interviewing informants and implementing non-participant observation. The data presented is reduced to the important ones and drawn into a specific conclusion by using data triangulation of data source. The result of this research points out that the implementation of marketing communication done by Noise Garage  music aggregator optimizes the product quality from the digital platform availability,  the discount of price package from music album, the accessibility and  the convenience of the place, and the use of different kinds of social media which covers different kinds of audiences’ range of ages or generation..   Keywords: music aggregator, marketing communication, digital platform   Abstrak               Penelitian ini membahas mengenai implementasi strategi komunikasi pemasaran tentang cara agregator musik mengoptimalkan bauran pemasaran melalui distribusi digital. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis berbagai macam cara komunikasi pemasaran dari produknya, harganya, tempatnya, dan bentuk promosinya yang merupakan elemen dari bauran pemasaran. Metode dari penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang menggambarkan keseluruhan upaya-upaya yang dilakukan agregator musik, yakni Noise Garage, dalam mengimplementasikan strategi komunikasi pemasaran pada masing-masing elemen bauran pemasaran. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara melakukan wawancara dan observasi non partisipan. Data yang disajikan direduksi ke data-data yang penting dan ditarik ke dalam kesimpulan dengan menggunakan triangulasi sumber data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi dari komunikasi marketing yang dilakukan oleh agragator musik Noise Garage mengoptimalkan kualitas produk dari ketersediaan platform digital, potongan harga paket dari album musik, aksesibilitas dan kenyamanan tempat, dan penggunaan berbagai macam sosial media yang menjangkau jenis-jenis beragam dari rentang usia atau generasi.   Kata kunci: agregator musik, komunikasi pemasaran, platform digital

Abstract: Sitiwinangun Cirebon Pottery or Sitiwinangun traditional pottery has a unique pottery craft product that has been started since prehistoric times until now. The people of Sitiwinangun village until now still believe that a ritual process is still needed for the Karuhun or their ancestors. The process of giving offerings to the spirits of the ancestors before making this Sitiwinangun Cirebon Pottery from prehistoric times until now is still very thick with animistic ritual processes. The motifs and uniqueness of Sitiwinangun pottery are indeed liked by many art lovers in Indonesia and several countries worldwide. So it is not surprising that after the ritual process is carried out before making pottery, the people of Sitiwinangun village strongly believe that the ritual must still be carried out so that the quality and aesthetics of their pottery work are of better quality. Based on the facts, antique and artistic souvenir collectors still widely hunted this pottery artwork. In the life of the Sitiwinangun village community. It is said that to produce an extraordinary quality of work, several rituals must be carried out. The author tries to analyze a Communication Science study using the study of Transcendental Communication Representation in the ritual activities of making Sitiwinangun Pottery in Sitiwinangun Village, Cirebon. Abstrak: Gerabah Sitiwinangun Cirebon atau Sitiwinangun gerabah tradisional mempunyai keunikan hasil kerajinan gerabah yang sudah dimulai sejak zaman prasejarah sampai sekarang. Masyarakat desa Sitiwinangun sampai saat ini masih percaya bahwa masih diperlukan suatu proses ritual kepada para Karuhun atau para leluhur mereka. Pada faktanya proses memberikan sesajen kepada arwah para leluhur sebelum membuat Gerabah Sitiwinangun Cirebon ini semenjak zaman prasejarah sampai dengan sekarang masih sangat kental dilaksanakan proses ritual yang bersifat animisme. Motive dan keunikan gerabah khas Sitiwinangun memang disukai banyak pecinta seni di Indonesia maupun di beberapa negara-negara di dunia ini. Maka tak heran setelah dilaksanakan proses ritual sebelum membuat gerabah masyarakat desa Sitiwinangun mereka sangat percaya bahwa pelaksanaan ritual masih harus tetap dilaksanakan agar kualitas dan estetika hasil karya gerabah mereka menjadi lebih baik kualitasnya. Berdasarkan fakta, karya seni gerabah ini sampai saat ini masih banyak diburu oleh para kolektor suvenir antik dan artistik. Dalam kehidupan masyarakat desa Sitiwinangun. Konon, untuk menghasilkan suatu kualitas karya yang luar biasa, ada beberapa ritual yang harus dijalani. Penulis mencoba menganalisa suatu penelitian Ilmu komunikasi dengan menggunakan kajian Representasi Komunikasi Transendental pada kegiatan ritual pembuatan Gerabah Sitiwinangun di Desa Sitiwinangun, Cirebon.

Abstract

Kerawanan yang menyebabkan instabilitas sosial potensial terjadi pada masyarakat transisi. Ciri transisi tergambar jelas pada masyarakat desa Rancamanyar, Kecamatan Baleendah, Kabupaten Bandung. Desa yang tengah berubah menuju wujud sebuah kota ini menyimpan berbagai potensi membahayakan. Di antaranya, gangguan pada kerukunan dan kenyamanan lingkungan. Sebagai masyarakat transisi, kesulitan akan dialami ketika harus berubah ke arah suasana baru. Karena menuntut masyarakat untuk mengikuti arus perubahan dan meninggalkan adat dan kebiasaan yang telah lama terbentuk. Di dalam perubahan menuju kebiasaan baru ini terdapat hal paling mendasar, yakni, komunikasi. Ini berkenaan dengan bertebarannya simbol-simbol baru sebagai pembawa perubahan yang harus mendapat pemaknaan yang tepat dari masyarakat. Kemajuan sangat pesat serta merta mengubah kultur dan kebiasaan serta mengubah pola komunikasi yang sudah terbentuk. Menghadapi perubahan tersebut, warga harus memiliki keterampilan komunikasi, baik komunikasi praktis maupun kemampuan memaknai simbol-simbol yang bertebaran di tengah perubahan yang terjadi. Berkenaan dengan itu, dosen Ilmu Komunikasi bersama dengan mahasiswa Ilkom UKRI melaksanakan pengabdian di desa Rancamanyar, Kecamatan Baleendah Kabupaten Bandung. Tujuannya, untuk memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan komunikasi kepada kader dan aktivis masyarakat desa agar mampu memperkuat kerukunan di tengah beragamnya simbol-simbol yang bertebaran sebagai konsekuensi dari heterogenitas penduduk. Agar mencapai tujuan, PKM menggunakan metode ceramah dengan disertai diskusi. Hasilnya, masyarakat desa Rancamanyar berkomitmen memahami realitas perubahan dengan menerapkan sisi keilmuan komunikasi agar terpelihara kerukunan di antara sesama warga masyarakat.

Abstract

. The new civilization of the social media era has arrived. Pulled from its inception, the presence of social media has been relatively long and has become a means for the public to obtain information. Until now, social media has almost replaced the role of mainstream media in delivering and providing public information services. However, even though it has been running for a relatively long time, it still raises problems regarding the clash of public logic in digesting information spread by social media content. The public often experiences confusion. Research shows that hoax content is created by parties who do not have the competence and expertise in reconstructing events. However, it is possible that there is also content that is deliberately created with the aim of being a hoax with the intention of destroying public belief and trust. Examined further, this is a side effect of the freedom and ease of operating social media. Therefore, to understand this problem, this study was conducted using a qualitative approach through the media content analysis method. The goal is to understand content that leads to error through content that is spread and distributed by social media account owners. The results of the study show that there are two entities that contribute to the stain on digital civilization through hoaxes spread by parties who do not have the capacity and groups of experts who are very capable of forming public opinion.

Abstract

This study analyzes the branding of Café Cilor Mantul in communicating its products amidst the competition of culinary MSMEs in Bunijaya Village. The success of Café Cilor Mantul in surviving and growing is the main reason, highlighting the importance of branding for business sustainability. The purpose of this study is to understand how Café Cilor Mantul's branding elements including the logo, brand name, Instagram visuals, and taglineare represented and communicated. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative with a constructivist paradigm, where data is collected through in-depth interviews with the owner and consumers and direct observation of the implemented branding elements. Branding theory is used as the basis for the analysis. The results of this study indicate that Café Cilor Mantul's logo successfully represents its main product through the use of specific icons, attractive colors, and clear typography, in accordance with the owner's objectives. The brand name "Cilor Mantul" proved effective in attracting attention due to its simplicity and local familiarity. Product visuals on Instagram also successfully attract interest through good photo/video quality, artistic composition, use of bright colors, and a focus on emotional experiences. Furthermore, the tagline "Makan Cepat Menu Tepat" represents service efficiency and menu diversity. Overall, the branding implementation of Kafe Cilor Mantul demonstrates success in building and communicating a strong brand identity through visual and verbal elements tailored to the product's characteristics and target market. This understanding is expected to contribute to Communication Studies in the field of branding and marketing, as well as serve as a practical reference for Kafe Cilor Mantul and other MSMEs in formulating effective brand strategies.
