Abstract

 This study aims to determine (1) how the implementation of learning mathematics using problem-based learning model of learning. In addition, to describe (2) how the students use the communication skills of mathematical learning model of problem-based learning. This study includes qualitative research, this kind of research using qualitative descriptive. The collection of data through observation, documentation, written test and interview. Data was taken two stages. The first stage is to give a written test instrument. The second stage is the interview of the subject selected. Making the research subjects were divided into three levels, namely a high skill level, ability level medium and low skill levels. Conclusion The results of this study were (1) reached learning the syntax or the suitability of the activities of teachers with lesson plans that have already been designed in using learning model of problem-based learning is progressing well with the percentage 84.97% or in the excellent category. While the activities of students during the learning progress with the learning model of problem-based learning has been performing well and is successful where the percentage reached 88.27% or in the excellent category.As for the students mathematical communication skills in general in both criteria. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) bagaimana pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran  problem based  learning. Selain itu juga untuk mendeskripsikan (2) bagaimana kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning.Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif, jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi, tes tertulis dan wawancara.Pengambilan data dilakukan dua tahap.Tahap pertama adalah memberikan instrumen tes tertulis.Tahap kedua adalah tes wawancara terhadap subyek terpilih. Pengambilan subjek penelitian dibagi dalam tiga tingkatan yaitu tingkat kemampuan tinggi, tingkat kemampuan sedang, dan tingkat kemampuan rendah.Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) keterlaksanaan sintak pembelajaran atau kesesuaian aktivitas guru dengan RPP yang telah dirancang sebelumnya dalam menggunakan model pembelajaran  problem based learning  berlangsung dengan baik dengan prosentasenya 84,97%  atau dalam kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran berlangsung dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning sudah terlaksana dengan baik dan bisa dikatakan berhasil dimana prosentasenya mencapai 88,27% atau dalam kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan untuk kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa secara umum dalam kriteria baik.

Abstract

Abstract:This research is motivated by the existence of learning media that still unable to improve students' thinking skills. Learning media which is developed in this study are learning module. The learning module is expected to deepen students’ understanding of concepts and improve their ability to think critically. Module development uses one learning strategy that supports the research objectives. The strategy used is a strategy to improve thinking skill. Based on this background, the research questions are: (1) how is the development of learning module using thinking skill enhancement strategy? (2) How do students respond to the development of learning module using strategy for improving thinking skills? The development of learning module in this study uses ADDIE development model. This model has five stages of development, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects in this study are seventh grade students of Private Junior High School (SMP) Wahidiyah Kediri. The instruments are in the form of learning module and students’ response questionnaires. The conclusions are: (1) The module is feasible and valid for students, and (2) Students’ response about the use of learning module is very good. Researchers’ suggestions for further development are: (1) learning module using thinking skill enhancement strategy needs to be completed in the form of content. concept, and design in order to create interesting and conducive learning atmosphere; (2) further development of other materials using thinking skill enhancement strategy is needed; and (3) further development refers to the latest curriculum used in educational institution, so that the learning module in line with the latest curriculum development..Keywords: Modules, Thinking Skill Enhancement Strategy.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pembelajaran di sekolah dasar seringkali dihadapkan pada tantangan untuk mengakomodasi perbedaan kemampuan siswa. Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi dan Berpikir Literasi Numerasi (Berlitnum) merupakan strategi yang diperlukan guna menjawab tantangan ini. Tujuan: Program ini bertujuan untuk melatih guru dalam penerapan Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi dan Literasi Numerasi, yang diselenggarakan oleh tim dari Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri bekerja sama dengan mitra SD Negeri Pranggang 3 Plosoklaten Kediri. Metode: Pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan metode In House Training (IHT) yang melibatkan enam dosen dan dua mahasiswa. Kegiatan terdiri dari penyampaian teori, simulasi, pendampingan, dan evaluasi implementasi. Hasil: Berdasarkan survei kepuasan, pelatihan mendapatkan skor rata-rata kepuasan 90%, dengan kualitas penyampaian fasilitator mencapai skor 96%, dan pemahaman guru mengenai konsep diferensiasi sebesar 94%. Selain itu, implementasi strategi pembelajaran di kelas menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa sebesar 15%, berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test yang dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Kesimpulan: Program PKM ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam mengimplementasikan strategi diferensiasi dan literasi numerasi di kelas.

Sedangkan aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran berlangsung dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning sudah terlaksana dengan baik dan bisa dikatakan berhasil dimana prosentasenya mencapai 88,27% atau dalam kategori sangat baik. Sedangkan untuk kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa secara umum dalam kriteria baik.

Abstract

Selain itu juga untuk mendeskripsikan (2) Bagaimana reasoning habit dan sense making peserta didik pada pembelajaran Matematika. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif, jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif.Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi, tes tertulis dan wawancara.Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi, memberikan instrumen tes tertulis dan tes wawancara.Pengambilan subjek penelitian dibagi dalam tiga tingkatan yaitu tingkat kemampuan tinggi, tingkat kemampuan sedang, dan tingkat kemampuan rendah.Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) keterlaksanaan sintak pembelajaran atau kesesuaian aktivitas guru dalam menggunakan metode problem based learning berlangsung dengan baik. Secara klasikal aktivitas guru selama proses pembelajaran mencapai 87% atau dalam kategori baik. Dengan demikian indikator aktivitas guru sesuai sintak pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria baik. Aktivitas peserta didik selama pembelajaran berlangsung dengan metode problem based learning sudah terlaksana dengan baik. Secara klasikal aktivitas peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran mencapai 82,5% atau dalam kategori baik. (2) Sedangkan reasoning habit dan sense making peserta didik secara umum tergolong kategori baik.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop quartet card learning media on flat-sided space building material. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection techniques used are interviews, questionnaires, and observations. The validity of the quartet card learning media is seen from the results of the expert validation test with a percentage score obtained of 89.6% from media experts, 81.3% from material experts, and 92.3% from practitioners who are included in the category of very valid learning media can be used without revision. The results of student responses on small-scale trials obtained a percentage of 82% and large-scale trials obtained a percentage of 83% with a very interesting category, meaning that the attractiveness of quartet card learning media is very good. The quartet card learning media is declared valid and interesting to use in learning mathematics on flat-sided space building material.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in arithmetic sequences through the implementation of the open-ended problems learning model. The background of the research highlights students' difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts, particularly arithmetic sequences, due to teacher-centered learning methods and limited student engagement. A total of 88.88% of students in class X-TKJ at SMK Arrahmah Papar did not meet the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 75 in the Mid-Semester Exam. The open-ended problems approach was chosen based on its proven effectiveness in enhancing students' critical and creative thinking skills (Nazareth & Mukhlis, 2022). This study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects consisted of 36 students. Data were collected through mathematics pretest and posttest, teacher observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from 61.39 (pretest) to 82.36 (posttest). The Paired Sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Teacher activity was rated very good with an average of 88.15%, while student responses were positive with an average of 81.18%. The study concludes that the open-ended problems learning model is effective in improving both the learning outcomes in arithmetic sequences and students’ critical and creative thinking abilities

Abstract

Every student has different abilities, this difference is due to the different stages of ability that students have. The purpose of this study was to describe students' thinking skills based on Van Hiele's learning theory. The subjects of this study were 15 students of class VIII SMPN 2 Makale. The instruments used were test descriptions and interviews. The results showed 93% who had the ability to think at the introductory stage (stage 0), 80% of students who had the ability to think at the stage of analysis (stage 1), 33% of students who had the ability to think at the sequencing stage (stage 2), and 20% of students. who has the ability to think at the deduction stage (stage 3). Thus, the thinking ability of iclass VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Makale based on Van Hiele's theory on cube and block material reaches stage 3 or the deduction stage.

Abstract

The background to this research is the lack of student learning outcomes in class V mathematics subjects at SDN Pranggang 3. Class V students at SDN Pranggang 3 still experience difficulties when understanding length unit material. The factor that influences the lack of learning outcomes is that the learning process does not or does not involve students directly and is only explained by the teacher. The aim of this research is to determine students' understanding of length unit material by using a smart ladder teaching aid with the demonstration method. This research is classroom action research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were fifth grade students at SDN Pranggang 3. Based on the results of interviews with students who obtained results above the KKM, they said that it was more fun if they could directly practice the material they were studying rather than just reading it. Meanwhile, students whose scores were below the KKM felt that they did not understand when multiplying or when dividing the questions that had been given. Mathematics lessons on length unit material using this smart ladder teaching aid can help elementary school students understand length unit material.
