Abstract

Various problems experienced by students have an impact on the learning process until the completion of student studies. If this problem is allowed to continue, it will have a bad impact on students and faculty. Students may be late in completing their studies until drop out which ultimately affects the accreditation of the faculty of medicine. The problems experienced by students are mostly caused by their lack of skills or ability to solve problems independently. The transition from the previous education level to higher education causes various problems that affect the quality of student academic performance on campus, resulting in behaviors such as procrastination habits to complete assignments, low motivation to learn, poor self-regulation, difficulty managing time, not knowing the appropriate learning method with their personality, and stress. This study aims to increase knowledge about time management and stress management skills in medical faculty students. This research method used a quasi-experimental approach with a quantitative approach. The experimental design used was one-group pretest-posttest. The instrument used was the knowledge test about stress management skills and the knowledge test about time management skills. The results showed that there was an increase in students' knowledge about time management skills in the high category and an increase in stress management skills in the high category.

Abstract

Based on the results of a survey by the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia and LIPI in 2019, the province of Central Sulawesi is one of the largest contributors to drug abuse and ranks fourth in Indonesia (Rafii, 2020a). Adolescence and early adulthood are a period of searching for identity and acknowledging the truth. The desire to seek satisfaction and fulfillment of the vulnerable ego makes them face various problems. This can have a negative impact if the environment does not get attention from adults because it can lead to negative things such as free sex, and drug abuse. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge about the dangers of narcotics to students using the socialization method. The target of this activity was student representatives from the Student Executive Board (BEM) of each faculty at Tadulako University (UNTAD) Palu, with a total of 30 socialization participants. The activities were carried out using the lecture and discussion method for two days in the new Hall of the UNTAD Faculty of Medicine. Result: there is an increase in the average value (mean) of 81.90 and the NGain score of 77% which is included in the effective category in increasing knowledge about the dangers of narcotics in students before and after being given socialization.

Abstract

Bullying and radicalism share common ground as forms of antisocial behavior characterized by violence. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the PROGRES intervention, designed to enhance prosocial and respectful attitudes and increase knowledge about bullying and radicalism among fifth-grade students. Employing a pre-posttest control group design with 150 students from urban elementary schools, this research utilized hypothesis testing through Independent Sample T-test and Paired Sample T-test. Results indicated that the PROGRES intervention significantly increased prosocial attitudes by 92.53%, respectful attitudes by 94.15%, and knowledge about bullying and radicalism by 98.12% and 97.01%, respectively (p 0.05 for all). These findings suggest that the PROGRES intervention could play a crucial role in educational strategies to combat bullying and radicalism, emphasizing its potential incorporation into school curricula nationwide.

Abstract

Urbanization has significantly reshaped social and environmental landscapes, posing complex challenges to mental health in densely populated areas. This narrative review aims to explore how urban stressors—both social and physical—influence psychological well-being, and what interventions may mitigate their impact. Literature was collected through comprehensive searches in PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using keywords such as "urban mental health," "social determinants," and "environmental factors." Inclusion criteria focused on peer-reviewed studies examining urban populations and mental health correlations. Results consistently highlight the protective role of strong social networks in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, while isolation is a major risk factor. Environmental stressors such as poor housing, pollution, and lack of green spaces exacerbate psychological distress, particularly among marginalized populations. Access to mental health services remains unequal, with systemic barriers like funding gaps and service fragmentation limiting outreach. Discussion reveals that while findings align with classical theories, new data support the integration of technological, environmental, and community-based approaches. Policy recommendations include promoting green urban design, investing in community programs, and expanding access to digital mental health tools. In conclusion, enhancing social support and equitable access to services are vital strategies for improving mental health outcomes in urban settings.
