Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the performance production and technical efficiency of oil palm production in Indonesia based on the management pattern (independent farmers and supported farmers). The secondary data were used from the Estate Cultivation Household Survey (ST2013 SKB) conducted by BPS-Statistics Indonesia. The empirical analysis involved using a meta-frontier approach, allowing one to decompose efficiency into group-level technical efficiency and technology gaps. The results indicate that the output of each management pattern behind their potential with the mean technical efficiency of 0,6789 and 0,7127 for independent farmers and supported farmers, respectively. The technology gap ratio statistics showed that the farmers had adopted the best available smallholder production technology in their farming. However, independent farmers were slightly more optimal than supported farmers. The efficiency measure generated from the meta-frontier revealed that supported farmers were more efficient, where the primary source of inefficiency came from managerial inefficiency. Thus, the policies to increase the production of oil palm smallholders must focus on the improvement of technical skills and managerial capabilities of farmers on the efficient use of resources and advanced technology by considering each characteristic of each management pattern. Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efisiensi teknis dan menganalisis sumber inefisiensi produksi kelapa sawit pekebun mandiri dengan mengggunakan pendekatan stokastik frontier. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa semua vaiabel input berpengaruh positif terhadap produksi kelapa sawit dengan skala usaha decreasing returns to scale. Pekebun menpunyai nilai rata-rata efisiensi teknis 0.6541, namun lebih dari 53 % yang mempunyai efisiensi lebih dari 0,70. Faktor-faktor seperti umur pekebun, pendidikan, penyuluhan, keanggotaan kelompok tani, kepemilikan lahan dan pembiayaan berpengaruh positif terhadap efisiensi teknis. Diharapkan dengan perbaikan faktor-faktor seperti penggunaan input, peningkatan pendidikan, penyuluhan budidaya kelapa sawit yang benar dan kemudahan akses perkreditan akan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi teknis produksi kelapa sawit pekebun mandiri. Pekebun yang mempunyai tanaman kelapa sawit dengan umur lebih dari 30 tahun, dimana tanaman kelapa sawit mempunyai produktivitas dan TE terendah, harus mulai memikirkan peremajaan perkebunannya.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penawaran dan permintaan jagung di Indonesia dan menganalisis dampak perubahan tarif impor terhadap kesejahteraan pelaku pasar jagung Indonesia.  Penelitian menggunakan data time series dari tahun 1984 sampai  2013. Model ekonometrika berupa sistem persamaan simultan yang terdiri dari 18 persamaan (7 persamaan identitas dan 11 persamaan struktural).  Parameter diestimasi menggunakan metode Two Stage Least Squares  dengan simulasi historis dari tahun 2006-2013. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa luas areal jagung dipengaruhi oleh trend waktu, sedangkan produktivitas jagung dipengaruhi oleh rasio harga  riil jagung di tingkat petani dengan pupuk urea, harga riil jagung di tingkat konsumen dan trend waktu. Impor jagung dipengaruhi oleh stok jagung dan harga riil jagung impor.  Permintaan jagung untuk konsumsi langsung dipengaruhi oleh PDB, jumlah penduduk dan permintaan jagung untuk konsumsi langsung t-1. Permintaan jagung untuk industri pakan dipengaruhi oleh harga riil jagung impor dan populasi unggas.  Selanjutnya simulasi penghapusan tarif impor jagung akan menyebabkan penurunan kesejahteraan produsen dan peningkatan kesejahteraan konsumen baik konsumen rumah tangga maupun konsumen industri pakan, menurunkan penerimaan pemerintah sehingga menurunkan kesejahteraan pelaku pasar.  Sebaliknya, peningkatan tarif impor jagung sebesar 10 persen akan menyebabkan peningkatan kesejahteraan produsen dan penurunan  kesejahteraan konsumen, peningkatan penerimaan pemerintah yang akhirnya  meningkatkan kesejahteraan pelaku pasar.

Abstract

Farmers in their daily farming activities cannot be separated from the use of chemicals, especially fertilizers and pesticides. From an early age, it is necessary to seek an understanding of farmer children about the safe use of chemicals in their use and the impact of these chemicals on the safety of the agricultural products (vegetables and fruit). The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and awareness about how to minimize pesticide residues on vegetables and fruit so that these agricultural products are safe for family consumption for students at MTs Lempur, Gunung Raya District, Kerinci Regency, Jambi. The method used is face-to-face counseling by providing literature of material and conducting questions and answers deepening the material as well as quizzes with prizes at the end of the session. Community service activities regarding counseling on how to minimize pesticide residues in food, vegetables and fruit have been carried out well, and have received enthusiastic responses from students at MTs Lempur, Gunung Raya District, Kerinci Regency.

Abstract

Gunung Raya District, Kerinci Regency, has grown to become one of the centers of oranges production in Jambi Province. In general, oranges farmers in Gunung Raya District, use inorganic fertilizers continuously for a long period of time, so that it can cause soil fertility to be disturbed. Counseling on the use of organic and inorganic fertilizers on oranges plants needs to be carried out so that the availability of complete and balanced nutrients in farmland can be maintained, the productivity of oranges did not decrease. With the implementation of this activity, it was hoped that the knowledge of farmers about balanced fertilization on oranges plants and applying it to their farms could increase the production of oranges in Gunung Raya District.

Abstract

Empowerment of women through the use of local resources provides change and progress in Rantau Puri Village located in Muara Bulian District, Batang Hari Regency. Local resources as a dimension of local wisdom include Natural Resources (SDA), Human Resources (HR), and Socio-Cultural Resources that must be utilized to achieve change, progress and prosperity. Utilization of these three local resources in an integrated manner can provide independence. The kepok banana is one of the local natural resources developed by the local community, the kepok banana was chosen because it is often found in the local area. Banana kepok can be processed into chips with various flavors and also opaque, while for the heart of banana kepok you can make steak. Processing made from bananas is still done traditionally or manually so that the resulting product does not meet market demand. The purpose of this service is to provide assistance to the joint business group (KUBE) of Rantau Puri village through the use of local resources to be managed into regional superior products. The service will be held on October 2, 9 and 16, 2021. The methods used to achieve the objectives include: (a) socialization of the program to target groups, local government and communities (b) counseling on the use of local resources (c) skills training to target groups . The results of community service in the form of empowerment or assistance to women through the use of kepok bananas which are processed into banana chips, opaque and steak. The conclusion of this service is that there needs to be further assistance to the community to be wiser and skilled both in terms of skills and technology in the use of local resources.

Abstract

Good and attractive product packaging and labeling techniques are needed to support a food product. Not all food business actors such as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can apply modern packaging techniques. Until now, product packaging techniques are still a problem for food businesses, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Problems regarding product packaging and labels become obstacles for the development or progress of a business. The problem that occurs in snack business actors in Pematang Gajah Village is that business actors do not know how to package products in an attractive way so that buyers can easily recognize them. The purpose of community service activities is to transfer packaging knowledge and technology so that production is easy to market. This community service activity takes the form of mentoring, counseling and training for micro-entrepreneurs processing snacks, such as sweet potato chips, banana chips, peanut brittle and fish crackers in Pematang Gajah Village, Jambi Outer City District, Muaro Jambi Regency. Product packaging functions as a means of protecting the product and increasing the attractiveness of the product in the market, while labeling functions as the identity of a product so that consumers can choose the right product.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat ketahanan pangan keluarga penerima manfaat bantuan sosial pangan di Kabupaten Batang Hari, dan untuk mengetahui tingkat kerawanan pangan keluarga penerima manfaat bantuan sosial pangan di Kabupaten Batang Hari. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data skunder, perolehan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, survey dan wawancara responden penelitian. Responden yang diambil berdasarkan teknik probability sampilng; simple random sampling, penentuan responden ini dilakukan dengan teknik insindental, dari total populasi sejumlah 3.791 orang dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin diperoleh responden sebanyak 40 orang. Metode analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Deskriptif Analitis. Jenis penelitan deskriptif ini menggunakan metode Case Study yaitu penelitan yang menggambarkan secara mendetail tentang latar belakang, sifat maupun karakter khas dari suatu kasus terutama pada rumah tangga keluarga penerima bantuan sosial pangan atau Bantuan Pangan Non Tunai di Kabupaten Batang Hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi ketahanan pangan keluarga penerima manfaat bantuan sosial pangan di Kabupaten Batang Hari adalah tidak tahan pangan. Terdapat 7,50% keluarga yang tergolong tahan pangan, 92,50% tidak tahan pangan., 95,00% keluarga tidak mengalami kerawanan pangan dan 5,00% keluarga megalami kerawanan pangan. Kata kunci :Bantuan sosial pangan, pola konsumsi pangan, ketahanan pangan, dan kerawanan pangan. This type of descriptive research uses the Case Study method, which is research that describes in detail the background, nature and distinctive character of a case, especially in households receiving social food assistance or Non-Cash Food Aid for in Batang Hari Regency. The results of the study indicate that the condition of food security of families who are beneficiaries of food social assistance in Batang Hari Regency is not food insecure. There are 7.50% of families classified as food insecure, 92.50% not food insecure., 95.00% of families not experiencing food insecurity and 5.00% of families experiencing food insecurity. Abstract

Pasar Terusan Village has a farmer group that cultivates rice paddy farming. The development of farmer groups is directed at the implementation of the agribusiness system and increasing the participation of farmers to members and to other communities by fostering cooperation between farmers and other parties in developing their farms. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify and analyze factors that influence farmers' perceptions of the role of rice farmer groups in Pasar Terusan Village. Quantitative and qualitative descriptive research methods are used through survey techniques. Descriptive analysis is used through multiple linear regression approaches. The results showed that (1) the influencing factors were Age (X1), Education (X2), land area (X3), length of farming (X4), access to information (X5), member involvement (X6). (2) The result of the Coefficient of Determination (R) Test from multiple linear regression analysis that R is 0.455 or 45.5%, which means that the independent variables in the model are able to explain the dependent variables by 45.5%. The results of Test F show that the independent variables together have a significant effect on the dependent variable. The results of the T Test show that Age (X1), access to information (X5), and member involvement (X6) significantly affect farmers' perceptions of the role of rice farmer groups (Y). INTISARIDesa Pasar Terusan memiliki kelompok tani yang mengusahakan usahatani padi sawah. Pengembangan kelompok tani diarahkan pada penerapan sistem agribisnis dan peningkatan peran serta petani kepada anggota maupun kepada masyarakat lainnya dengan menumbuh kembangkan kerjasama antar petani dengan pihak lain dalam mengembangkan usahataninya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi petani terhadap peranan kelompok tani padi sawah di Desa Pasar Terusan. Digunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif melalui teknik survei. Digunakan analisis deskriptif melalui pendekatan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi yaitu Umur (X1), Pendidikan (X2), luas lahan (X3), lamanya berusahatani (X4), akses informasi (X5), keterlibatan anggota (X6). (2) Hasil Uji Koefisien Determinasi (R) dari analisis regresi linier berganda bahwa R  sebesar 0,455 atau 45,5% yang artinya bahwa variabel-variabel independen dalam model mampu menjelaskan variabel –variabel dependent sebesar 45,5%. Hasil Uji F menunjukkan bahwa variabel independent secara bersama-sama berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap variabel dependent. Hasil Uji T menunjukkan bahwa Umur (X1), akses informasi (X5), dan Keterlibatan anggota (X6) mempengaruhi secara signifikasi terhadap persepsi petani terhadap peranan kelompok tani padi sawah (Y).

Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data skunder, perolehan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, survey dan wawancara responden penelitian. Responden yang diambil berdasarkan teknik probability sampilng; simple random sampling, penentuan responden ini dilakukan dengan teknik insindental, dari total populasi sejumlah 3.791 orang dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin diperoleh responden sebanyak 40 orang. Metode analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Deskriptif Analitis. Jenis penelitan deskriptif ini menggunakan metode Case Study yaitu penelitan yang menggambarkan secara mendetail tentang latar belakang, sifat maupun karakter khas dari suatu kasus terutama pada rumah tangga keluarga penerima bantuan sosial pangan atau Bantuan Pangan Non Tunai di Kabupaten Batang Hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi ketahanan pangan keluarga penerima manfaat bantuan sosial pangan di Kabupaten Batang Hari adalah tidak tahan pangan. Terdapat 7,50% keluarga yang tergolong tahan pangan, 92,50% tidak tahan pangan., 95,00% keluarga tidak mengalami kerawanan pangan dan 5,00% keluarga megalami kerawanan pangan. Kata kunci :Bantuan sosial pangan, pola konsumsi pangan, ketahanan pangan, dan kerawanan pangan.
