Abstract

This study aims to describe the concept of learning readiness from the perspective of Islamic educational psychology through a qualitative descriptive approach. The method used is library research by reviewing various scientific sources in the form of books, journal articles, and relevant academic documents in the last five years. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis through the stages of data reduction, classification, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that learning readiness from an Islamic perspective encompasses not only physical and intellectual readiness, but also emotional, social, and spiritual readiness of students. The concept of learning readiness in Islamic education is based on the values of tazkiyatun nafs, sincerity of intention, and the formation of morals in the process of seeking knowledge. Factors that influence learning readiness include physical and psychological conditions, the learning environment, previous experiences, motivation, and spirituality. The implications of this study emphasize that the learning process in Islamic education needs to pay attention to student readiness holistically through adaptive learning strategies, providing motivation, and strengthening spiritual values. This study is expected to enrich the study of Islamic educational psychology, particularly regarding the concept of integrative and humanistic learning readiness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the thought of KH Ahmad Dahlan in shaping the Islamic reform movement through Muhammadiyah, focusing on the concepts of tajdid, Al-Ma’un theology, and their relevance to the development of Progressive Islam. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method based on primary and secondary sources related to KH Ahmad Dahlan’s thought, the history of Muhammadiyah, and scholarly studies on Islamic reform in Indonesia. Data were analyzed through content analysis and a historical-interpretative approach to examine the relationship between religious ideas, social transformation, and the institutionalization of Islamic movements. The findings reveal that Ahmad Dahlan’s concept of tajdid was not limited to the purification of Islamic beliefs and practices but was also directed toward social transformation through education, healthcare services, philanthropy, and community empowerment. Al-Ma’un theology served as the primary foundation linking individual piety with social responsibility, which was subsequently manifested through Muhammadiyah’s various charitable and social institutions. The study concludes that KH Ahmad Dahlan’s thought represents a model of transformative Islam that integrates spirituality, rationality, and social concern. This model remains highly relevant in addressing contemporary challenges, including educational development, social inequality, digital transformation, and the strengthening of religious moderation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct KH Ahmad Dahlan’s integrative tajdid model as the foundation of the Muhammadiyah reform movement and Islamic social transformation in Indonesia. Previous studies have generally examined Ahmad Dahlan’s thought from partial perspectives, such as education, da‘wah, philanthropy, or Islamic reform, without providing a comprehensive understanding of the interconnected dimensions of his reformist ideas. This research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from relevant primary and secondary sources and analyzed through content analysis involving data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The findings reveal that KH Ahmad Dahlan developed an integrative tajdid model consisting of five major pillars: purification of faith (aqidah), educational reform, Al-Ma’un social theology, women’s empowerment, and cultural da‘wah. These dimensions are interconnected and constitute the foundation of Muhammadiyah as a progressive Islamic movement capable of integrating Islamic values with social transformation. The study demonstrates that tajdid in Ahmad Dahlan’s perspective extends beyond the purification of Islamic teachings and encompasses the development of educational institutions, social services, community empowerment, and religious moderation. This integrative tajdid model remains highly relevant in addressing contemporary challenges shaped by globalization, digital transformation, and increasingly complex social changes.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine and analyze the concept of student intelligence from an Islamic educational perspective. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research approach. Data were obtained from primary sources, including the Qur'an, Hadith, and primary literature on Islamic education and intelligence theory. Secondary data were obtained from books, scientific journals, and relevant previous research. Data collection was conducted through documentation studies, while data analysis employed content analysis techniques, comprising data reduction, classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Islamic education views intelligence not only as an intellectual aspect (IQ), but also encompasses emotional (EQ), spiritual (SQ), and the complex potential of human beings integrated into the dimensions of 'aql, qalb, ruh, and badand. Islam places intelligence as a gift from Allah SWT that must be developed in a balanced manner through holistic education. Strategies for developing student intelligence in Islamic education include integrating the values of monotheism, cultivating tadabbur and tafakkur, and fostering Islamic character in the learning process

Abstract

The emergence of Muhammadiyah represents a pivotal milestone in the history of Islamic reform in Indonesia, closely linked to the pioneering thought of KH Ahmad Dahlan. Nevertheless, previous studies have predominantly focused on Muhammadiyah as an organization or Ahmad Dahlan as its founder, leaving limited attention to the reconstruction of his ideas as the conceptual foundation of the Muhammadiyah reform movement. This study aims to analyze the pioneering thought of KH Ahmad Dahlan in shaping the Muhammadiyah reform movement and to explain how his ideas were institutionalized into a sustainable socio-religious movement. The research employs a qualitative conceptual approach based on an extensive literature review of reputable journal articles, academic books, and relevant documents. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis supported by the perspectives of Islamic Modernism, Social Movement Theory, and Institutional Theory. The findings reveal that Ahmad Dahlan's reform paradigm consists of five interconnected dimensions: purification of Islamic creed, revitalization of ijtihad, integration of Islamic and modern education, Al-Ma'un-based social theology, and organizational modernization. These dimensions enabled Muhammadiyah to institutionalize Islamic values through education, healthcare, philanthropy, and community empowerment, ensuring its sustainability as a reform movement. This study contributes to the literature by providing a conceptual reconstruction of the relationship between Islamic reformist thought, institutional development, and the sustainability of Muhammadiyah. The findings also offer practical insights for strengthening moderate Islamic movements and promoting adaptive Islamic education in addressing contemporary social and technological challenges.

Abstract

The discourse on Islamic Science remains a crucial endeavor in deconstructing the dominance of secular Western epistemology. This article aims to compare the thought of Ziauddin Sardar the pioneer of the Ijmali school who emphasizes value-laden science and futures studies with the mapping of views held by Indonesian Muslim intellectuals. Using a qualitative descriptive-comparative method through library research, this study analyzes how foundational Islamic principles such as Tawhid (the unity of God), the limits of knowledge, and the realities of modern science (e.g., quantum mechanics) are addressed by both subjects. The findings indicate that while Sardar operates on a macro-epistemological level and systemic ethics, Indonesian Muslim intellectuals tend to adopt a pragmatic-integrative approach, embedding Islamic values directly into the curriculum and institutional frameworks of modern science. This comparison opens a new space for dialogue on how the future of Islamic Science can be concretely realized without falling into past romanticism or a blind rejection of Western science

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanisms of behaviorist learning theory and its strategic implementation in transforming the religious behavior of learners within Islamic Education (PAI) subjects. Amid the challenges of moral degradation and the complexities of the digital era, the effectiveness of PAI is often hindered by the dominance of cognitive knowledge transfer, which overlooks the internalization of values (transfer of values). Utilizing a systematic literature review method on modern educational psychology discourse and Islamic educational thought, this study dissects the theoretical contributions of Ivan Pavlov, Edward Thorndike, and B.F. Skinner within the context of shaping akhlakul karimah (noble character). The research findings indicate that applying principles of classical conditioning, connectionism, and operant conditioning through shaping techniques, positive reinforcement, and multimodal stimulus management can optimize PAI learning outcomes by up to 40%. The integration of behaviorist concepts with traditional Islamic methods—such as riyadhoh (spiritual training), targhib (promise of reward), and tarhib (threat of sanction)—creates an applicable framework for forming spontaneous and enduring patterns of religious behavior. This study concludes that the transformation of religious behavior requires a controlled instructional environment engineering to ensure observable and concretely measurable behavioral changes

Abstract

Curiosity is a fundamental aspect of human cognitive development that plays a crucial role in the formation and development of knowledge. From a cognitive psychology perspective, curiosity is understood as an internal drive that arises due to an information gap. In neuroscience, this phenomenon is related to the activity of the dopamine system, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex, which support learning, memory, and decision-making. This study aims to analyze curiosity from a cognitive psychology and neuroscience perspective and examine its epistemological implications in education and the legal system. The method used is library research with a qualitative-descriptive approach and content analysis of relevant scientific literature. The results of the study indicate that curiosity has a strong neurobiological basis and plays a key role in the exploration and learning process. Epistemologically, curiosity is the foundation for critical and reflective knowledge construction. The implication in education is the importance of implementing inquiry-based learning, while in the legal system, curiosity needs to be managed ethically to support the search for truth and justice.
