Abstract

Research of prediction parameter genetics in cacao plants at the nursery fase important asinformation on cacao plants that is resistant to attack Phytoptora palmivora and cancharacterized of morphology of that plants. The goal of this research is to know the value ofthought of the parameters of genetics on growth and resistance characters to black poddisease for some of Aceh’s origin genotypes. The research is done in two packages, namelythe growth and resistance plants packages. Design used are thought of random complete(ral)with ten genotypes as treatments and repeated as many as three times. Variables enduranceare qualitative variable (the form of stem of plant, a leaf shape, form the base of a leaf, theform of leaf tips, and flush color) quantitative variable (high plants, long leaves, number ofleaves per stem, wide leaves, and the angle between the leaves with stem), and resistancevariable (the incubation, the percentage of disease, and severity of illness). The result showthat: genotype categorized somewhat endurance element is AT7 and SR45.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This study aimed to evaluate the correlation of growth and yields from five varieties of sweetcorn that is Bonanza, Secada, Royal Sweet, Sweetboy and Manise. The study was carried out in Cot Irie Village, Aceh Besar Regency, from August to November 2017 and using  a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). Each variety replicated 4 times in 20 experimental plots with 20 plants in each plots so obtained 400 experimental plants. Data were analyzed by using  F test and the significant differences were compared using Lowest Small Different test  at probability 5 % ( LSD 0,05 ). The results of research shows differences in growth caracters,  yields and correlation in observed variables. The significant positive correlation is on diameter of stem, number of corncobs, corncobs length, and diameter of corncobs.Keywords: sweetcorn, varieties,  corellation, growth and yields.

Abstract

Hutan merupakan salah satu bagian terpenting dari kehidupan makhluk hidup yang harus di lindungi dan dilestarikan untuk keberlangsungan seluruh makhluk hidup karena tanpa hutan kemungkinan cuaca yang atsri dan sejuk tidak dapat dirasakan kembali, bahkan dari adanya peningkatan kerusakan hutan akan menimbulkan banyak masalah dan dapat merugikan banyak pihak terutama dari berbagai jenis bencana banjir, longsor. Perbaikan penjagaan dan tatakelola informasi kepada generasi milenial terutama siswa yaitu memberi pengetahuan tentang edukasi perlindungan keanekaragaman hayati ekosistem leuser. Metode dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu menampilkan power point terkait sejaraha dan definisi ekosistem leuser, perlindungan keanekaragaman hayati seperti flora dan fauna dan 4 satwa kunci yang ada di kawasan ekosistem leuser. Peserta juga diberikan pengetahuan terkait cara untuk mendapatkan dan mendaftar sebagai beserta beasiswa baik itu kurang mampu maupun jalur prestasi . Kegiatan ini didampingi dewan guru setempat, disamping hal tersebut dalam kegiatan ini berjalan dengan kooperatif baik dari dewan guru dan maupun semua siswa yang sangat antusias dengan rasa keingintahuan mereka yang tercermin saat sosialisasi berlangsung yang bertujuan membangun edukasi penjagaan keberlangsungan hidup anak cucu dimasa yang akan datang dengan cara menjaga keanekaraman hayati hutan.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information on genetic parameters and the best level of resistance of several papaya genotypes to mealybugs (Paracoccus marginatus) using the choice test method. This research was conducted in Cot Cut Village, Aceh Besar District, from April to July, 2022. Data analysis used a completely randomized design (CRD) non-factorial pattern with plant genotypes as treatments. Each genotype was repeated 3 times with 3 samples per replication. The seeds of papaya genotypes used amounted to 99 seeds from 11 genotypes, the genotypes used were Dapina (USK7), Carisya (USK1), Calina (USK4), Carmida (USK6), 3 genotypes from the cross USK7 X USK4, USK1 X USK7, USK7 X USK6, and 4 local Acehnese genotypes from Saree. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), then continued with the Least Significance Test at the 5% level. The results showed that there were genotypes with resistant category on mealybugs pest USK1XUSK7, USK1 with each attack intensity value of 23.01%, 24.62%, the lowest number of ovisacs was found in the genotype of the cross SK1XUSK7 with an average number of 3.00 ovisacs. The heritability value with high category was found in the character of plant height. There is a very significant correlation in the character of papaya plant resistance, namely the intensity of attack with the number of ovicides with a very significant positive value of 0.80. Keywords: genetic parameters; mealybug; papaya genotypes; resistance INTISARIPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai parameter genetik dan tingkat ketahanan terbaik tanaman pepaya terhadap hama kutu putih (Paracoccus marginatus) menggunakan metode choice test (dengan pilihan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat genotipe dengan kategori tahan terhadap hama kutu putih USK1XUSK7, USK1 dengan masing-masing nilai intensitas serangan 23,01%, 24,62%, jumlah ovisak terendah dijumpai pada genotipe hasil persilangan SK1XUSK7 dengan jumlah rata-rata sebanyak 3,00 ovisak. Adapun nilai heritabilitas dengan kategori tinggi dijumpai pada karakter tinggi tanaman. Terdapat korelasi yang signifikan sangat nyata pada karakter ketahanan tanaman pepaya yaitu intensitas serangan dengan  jumlah ovisak dengan nilai positif sangat nyata 0,80. Kata kunci: genotipe papaya; hama kutu putih; ketahanan; parameter genetik

Abstract

Potensi buah naga yang melimpah di Desa Kemuninglor, Kecamatan Arjasa, Kabupaten Jember, tidak diimbangi adanya kemampuan sumber daya manusia untuk mengelola kekayaan alam tersebut. Upaya pemanfaatan buah naga menjadi produk olahan bernilai jual tinggi di desa ini terbuka lebar. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan bekal, baik secara teori maupun praktik, bagaimana mengolah buah naga menjadi berbagai produk pangan bernilai jual tinggi. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan survei pendahuluan, observasi, focus group discussion, pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini antara lain berupa peningkatan kemampuan mitra, yaitu anggota dari Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) Kemuninglor, untuk memanfaatkan dan mengolah buah naga menjadi produk bernilai jual tinggi, seperti es krim, stik, dan abon. Diharapkan melalui kegiatan ini, Desa Kemuninglor dapat memiliki produk unggulan, membuka lapangan pekerjaan baru, serta mampu menjadikan wilayah tersebut sebagai desa mandiri di Kabupaten Jember.

Abstract

One of the consequences of poor nutritional management in toddlers is stunting. One nutritious alternative food to prevent stunting at a relatively cheaper price is sweet corn. Sweet corn is increasingly popular and widely consumed because it has a sweeter taste than regular corn (Kartika, 2019). Siswono (2004 in Surtinah, 2013) reported that the sugar content of the master sweet variety is 16 – 18%, close to the sugar content of cane, namely 19%. Sweet corn contains 96 cal Energy, 3.5 g Protein, 1.0 g Fat, 22.8 g Carbohydrates, 3.0 mg Calcium, 111 mg Phosphorus, 0.7 mg Iron, Vitamin A 400 SI, Vitamin B 0, 15 mg, Vitamin C 12.0 mg, and water 72.7 g Iskandar, 2006). This service activity was carried out at the Kampung Jawa Village Hall, Blangkejeren District, Gayo Lues Regency. The parties involved in this activity were lecturers from the Agrotechnology and Forestry study program, PSDKU Gayo Lues, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University as resource persons, as well as the Agrotechnology and Animal Husbandry study program, Faculty of Agriculture, Gunung Leuser University, Aceh Kutacane, village midwives as partners, village heads as facilitators and the village community. Javanese Village as a participant. Survey of activity locations, socialization of service activities, implementation of service activities, evaluation of service activities. The conclusions from this activity are: 1. Regarding the causes, characteristics, dangers and prevention of stunting by related parties, this is one of the first steps in efforts to improve the nutrition of pregnant women and toddlers in the Kampung Jawa Village community. 2. Sweet corn is an alternative food source that can be consumed by pregnant women and toddlers to prevent stunting. 3. This activity attracts the attention of mothers participating in socialization and Posyandu in Kampung Jawa Village and can increase their knowledge about preventing and handling stunting.

Abstract

AbstractThe activity of managing organic waste as a manifestation of achieving a Green Campus is one of the efforts to create a better environment that can benefit the community, especially those living near the campus area. Effective Microorganisms (EM-4) is a mixture of beneficial microorganisms used to improve soil quality, accelerate waste decomposition, reduce environmental pollution, and enhance plant growth. Many plants on campus have suboptimal growth, requiring fertilization. Therefore, it is necessary to engage the campus community, especially students, to produce organic fertilizer by utilizing waste from the campus environment, cafeteria, as well as organic leaf and pine litter waste, so it can be used as compost. More than 95,24% of respondents have never participated in training on compost production. Further training is needed to ensure the target audience better understands waste management.Kegiatan pengelolaan sampah organik merupakan perwujudan untuk menuju Green Campus merupakan salah satu kegiatan untuk mewujudkan terciptanya lingkungan yang baik dan dapat dimanfaatkan bagi masyarakat terutama masyarakat yang dekat dengan areal kampus.Effective Microorganisms (EM-4) adalah campuran mikroorganisme yang bermanfaat yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas tanah mempercepat penguraian sampah, mengurangi polusi lingkungan dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman Banyak tanaman yang ada dikampus yang kurang optimal pertumbuhan sehingga perlu pemupukan. Untuk itu perlu mengajak masyarakat kampus khususnya mahasiswa untuk membuat pupuk organik dengan memanfaatkan sampah yang ada di lingkungan kampus atau kantin, kotoran ternak dan sampah organik daun kayu dan seresah pinus sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk kompos. Lebih 95,24% responden yang tidak pernah mengikuti dalam pelatihan tentang pembuatan kompos. Perlu pelatihan lebih lanjut sehingga sasaran lebih paham terhadap pengelolaan sampah tersebut.

Abstract

The karst ecosystem of the Nglirip Cave Nature Reserve in Tuban Regency, East Java, plays a vital role as a water reservoir, carbon sink, and biodiversity hub. However, uncontrolled deforestation and human activities have disrupted the ecological balance, threatening the flora and fauna, as well as the local groundwater reserves. This study documents a collaborative restoration program initiated by PT PLN Nusantara Power Unit Pembangkit Tanjung Awar-Awar (UPTA), in partnership with the East Java BBKSDA (National Resources Conservation Agency) and the Tuban Regency Environmental Agency. The program aimed to rehabilitate the karst ecosystem through the planting of 1,000 endemic trees, which are Ficus benjamina and Ficus macrocarpa. These trees were chosen for their high-water absorption capacity and ecological suitability to the Nglirip Cave Nature Reserve. We implemented an innovative protection technique called “Ficus in Shield” by constructing cylindrical galvanized sheet metal under the tree trunks. This procedure was implemented to protect the saplings from damage by porcupines. The results show a measurable increase in biodiversity, evidenced by an increase in the Shannon-Wiener Biodiversity Index, and are expected to improve groundwater retention and ecosystem resilience. Beyond the ecological benefits, this initiative emphasizes the importance of public-private collaboration in biodiversity conservation and climate resilience. These findings highlight that endemic-based reforestation, combined with adaptive protection methods, is expected to effectively restore longdegraded karst ecosystems and serve as a model for sustainable conservation both in the Nglirip Cave Nature Reserve and elsewhere.
