Abstract

Women have an important role in economic development in coastal areas. One of the roles is to process the remaining marine products which are used as side activities to increase the family’ incomes. The processing activities is realized to produce added value products by minimizing marine products waste. this research aims to observe the women role in minimizing of marine products waste based on logistics activities. It is due to limited study mentioned about marine products waste assessment. The used method is quantitative with statistical test is ANOVA. The results show there is significant factor that has correlation with logistics activities. The factors are estimated amount of processed marine products and the daily income. The estimated amount of processed marine products has significant with unsold product that is given to nearest neighbor. Daily income has significant with storage, decrease the products quality, and bad weather. Moreover, by gaining appropriate storage, women have role to add their knowledge about inventory. They can collaborate with interested party to provide sufficient storage. In addition, the good storage can keep the processed marine product quality. The appropriate storage especially cold storage can keep the raw material inventory during bad weather.

Abstract

Village-owned enterprises (BUMDesa) and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are enabled to strengthen the rural economy. The two entities shall collaborate and will help the rural economy become more adaptive and sustainable. One approach to collaborate is using digital technology, such as web applications. It will allow businesses to survive by gaining potential networking and cross-border markets through online marketing. This collaboration can be done using a digital technology approach where both roles are needed to improve the village economy. If this technological approach is not implemented, then marketing will be limited so that it will have an impact on the village economy. The qualitative and scrum approach is used to develop the digital web. The result shows differences between BUMDesa and SMEs' roles toward the web application. BUMDesa can make better managerial through digital businesses so that BUMDesa can accelerate SMEs' productivity by opening new markets and business perspectives to SMEs. The testing process is carried out to prevent the failure of website development by implementing a usability test, namely the Usability Scale (SUS) System. The tests carried out show that the proposed design gets a good score of 69.63, so it is effective and efficient to be implemented in website development. SMEs can gain a broader market, improve their production standard, and add production capacities. The collaboration will map and profile their strengths and weaknesses to minimize the implementation gap. In addition, the BUMDesa and SMEs will invest in social capital, which means the ability to establish cooperation, trust, and participation, in the local community to benefit from the social network. It will improve innovation capability

Abstract

Food loss occurs during production, handling, and post-harvest processing. Food loss also occurs because the product is under quality and shelf-life over. In addition, the performance and knowledge of farmers also need to be improved to minimize food loss. Food loss in the milk supply chain occurs due to spills, damage, and product contamination caused by operator negligence and poor handling procedures due to the lack of material handling and operational performance. This study aims to determine the effect of material handling and operational performance on food loss in the milk supply chain. The method used is a quantitative method with a statistical test Chi-Square. The results show that most material handling cases involve manual milking and milk storage. Another cause of food loss is the high production of bacteria, which impacts milk quality. In operational performance, the primary reason is communication among farmers regarding the cleanliness and handling of cattle during production. New farmers with low experience are expected to attend training to increase production capacity and avoid bacterial contamination. Upgrading Milking equipment is also essential to reduce food loss in the milk supply chain

Abstract

Food loss is currently a global problem for both developing and developed countries. Food loss is defined as the loss of a portion of food that is still raw but cannot be processed into a food product because the resulting material does not meet the desired quality. Food loss occurs in livestock production, and one focus is the milk supply chain. Food loss in milking usually occurs due to activities carried out during the harvest, post-harvest, and distribution processes. Food loss in the milk supply chain is caused by decreased milk quality and the farmer's attitude. Problems regarding the attitude of farmers that often occur are farmers' low attitude of responsibility to conduct something. This study aims to determine the effect of farmer attitudes to food loss in the milk supply chain. The method used was quantitative by collecting data from a survey of 46 milk farmers in Bayumas. Then, data were analyzed using the ANOVA approach. The results showed that demographics significantly affect farmers’ attitudes toward food loss in the milk supply chain. The food loss is due to farmers' treatments, including feeding, filtering milk into milk cans, and depositing milk in the shelter. Most farmers are over 50 and need more attention and knowledge about food loss in the milk supply chain. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct regular counseling programs for farmers in the supply chain regarding food loss mitigation. The stakeholders can provide the program to add new insights related to food loss. There should be intervention from the deposit shelter and cooperative in helping to increase farmers' awareness of food loss in quantity and quality.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company that produces various gases in the form of Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Argon in gas and liquid form. In the production process, the machine runs 24 hours non-stop and will stop production when maintenance is employed once a year. The Air Separation Plant (ASP) machine performance measurements are needed to determine the effectiveness of its production. The reseacrh aims to analyze the factors that affect machine productivity. The method used is quantitative, using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) approach. In addition, this study uses interviews to determine the factors that affect engine performance. The results show that the OEE value of the machine is 75%, which is still below the international standard OEE value of 85%. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize engine performance. Based on the analysis using a fishbone diagram, there are five influencing factors: human factors, machines, work methods, environment, and materials. Based on these five factors, the engine factor most influences the low value of engine performance. The predictive maintenance calculations are conducted, especially on expender and cold box machines, every 95 days of machine should use with work efficiency of around 40 hours.

Abstract

AbstractFood loss in the dairy supply chain is a challenge that impacts the production efficiency and sustainability of the livestock industry. This study aimed to analyze the effect of supply chain practices, including milking, inventory, transportation, and communication, on food loss in the dairy supply chain in Banyumas Regency, Indonesia. This study used a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis based on data from 46 dairy farmers. The results showed that only transportation significantly affected food loss with a regression coefficient of -0.450 and a p value of 0.004. Poor road infrastructure, inefficient transportation, and inadequate delivery support equipment contributed to milk loss during distribution. Although milking, inventory, and communication did not show significant effects, these practices are still important in maintaining milk quality. Farmers are advised to improve milking hygiene, improve storage systems, and strengthen stakeholder coordination. The implications of this study indicate that reducing food loss can improve milk production efficiency, maintain supply stability, and support farmer welfare. Further studies are recommended to expand the research scope to cooperatives and processing industries to obtain a more comprehensive picture of the dairy supply chain.
