Abstract

The incorporation of multicultural values ​​in Islamic education textbooks needs to be fostered as the endeavor to raise Muslim’s inclusive religious awareness. In response to this growing need, this study describes the highlight of multicultural education and multicultural values-based learning materials of Islamic education as well as well-planned learning processes. Grounded in a qualitative explorative descriptive study, it provides a comprehensive content analysis of Islamic education textbooks reinforced with a phenomenological approach. The primary sources of research were Islamic education textbooks for tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades in secondary high schools located in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia. Secondary sources were obtained through in-depth interviews with the teachers and students. Findings of this study demonstrate that firstly, not only did the textbooks cover the transfer of knowledge, but they also promoted multicultural values, so that the students upheld their cultural identities. Secondly, the learning materials introduced not only ritualistic symbols, but also the relationship between religious symbols and the existing reality. It encourages the students to think inclusively regarding unity in diversity. Finally, multicultural values embedded in the learning process involved tolerance, harmony, a culture of mutual respect, democracy, and maintenance of faith with good morality in social solidarity and interaction.

Abstract

The growth of advanced society gave birth to independent community groups. Therefore, social change needs to be anticipated so that people are not dictated by change and are able to act affirmatively. Madrasah as an Islamic educational institution is very important for Indonesia's future to contribute in building civil society. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively assimilate the madrasah strategy as an Islamic educational institution in building civil society. This is a qualitative research with a qualitative-naturalistic approach by collecting data from literature research as well as field research, the data obtained are then followed by stages, namely description, data reduction, data selection, data analysis, discussion, and conclusions. The results of the study showed the strategies of madrasah as Islamic Education institutions to build civil society, namely (1) Madrasah lays the most rational basis for taking internal and external steps by instilling moral law, unity in diversity, community-based social system, with the aim of improving the positive image of madrasah in the community. (2) The systemic role of madrasah realizes civil society with some program: first, organizing a school’s community service program (SKN) in the established target villages with the aim of appreciating the knowledge taught in madrasah to the community. second, the development of religious social skills, students will acquire life skills by carrying out various activities that have the spirit of Islam in the community: educating students to play an active role in society, introducing madrasah to the outside world in order to build a society that is democratic, religious, tolerance, independent and tough to face internal and global challenges towards civil society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the limitations and direction of developing subject matter in textbooks used by educators in contextualizing teaching materials with the reality faced by students, as a solution to enrich the knowledge of the material that has been presented in textbooks. The principles that are used as the basis in developing the teaching material of the Koran are conformity, constancy, and adequacy. This study utilizes text sources to obtain descriptive exploratory research data. The primary source used is the al-Qur'an textbook of Hadith written by Lilis Fauziah and Andi Setiawan. Research results obtained; 1) The distribution of material in class X seems to have been coherent and gradual although there are still overlaps in the material as in KD 2 and KD 3, and in class XI and XII the material is delivered only by theme, so that it does not seem coherent and is only a theme selection; 2) The material taught is in accordance with the psychological of students and has been able to read the phenomena around it. But there is material that needs to be developed so that it makes more use of logic in thinking than just memorizing theory; 3) In terms of application of learning the cognitive level of learning has touched, but the affective and psychomotor sides have not; 4) discussion about differences of opinion among scholars is not discussed thoroughly, potentially confusing students. Error in preparing multiple choice questions and answers. Forms of development reconstruction offered by researchers include; 1) In terms of suitability (relevance) Subject with SK and KD; 2) in terms of consistency of learning material; 3) in terms of the adequacy of the material presented; 4) and in terms of the consequences of developing subject matter.

Abstract

Islamic education is an Islamic institution focusing on forming human beings who have noble traits, such as good personality and behaviors according to Al-Qur’an values as life dogma on theological, norms, cultural, social, political, and economic aspects as knowledgeable, mature, humanist, and virtuous human beings. The purpose of this research is to understand comprehensively how the internalization of Al-Qur’an values in the Islamic education system at State Islamic High School (MAN) of Semarang Regency, Central Java. The method used is qualitative. Meanwhile, the data were collected with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data obtained in this study were then followed by stages, namely description, data reduction, data selection, data analysis, discussion, and conclusions. The results showed that, the internalization of Al-Qur’an values in the Islamic education system at MAN Semarang Regency, Central Java is to form the Al-Qur’an spirit. Consist in exemplary values (uswatun hasanah) in the framework of religious activities in Islamic boarding schools, discipline in various activities both in learning activities and in their dailylives, creating a conducive atmosphere in the school. Integration and internalization of Islamic values in the school coaching and problem solving for students, educators, and educational staff. While the efforts to internalize the Al-Qur’an values are, (1) The guidance conducted by the head of the madrasah regularly every Friday (2) the application of deliberation, fairness, honesty, and responsibility to the madrasah community (3) The enthusiasm of the madrasah community on implementing and obeying the madrasah regulations and avoiding detrimental actions. Madrasah as morality workshop emphasizes the habituation in behavior that illustrates the Al-Qur’an values and the goodness that students must have and become a habit of in their daily lives with a madrasah monitoring program involving various elements.

Abstract

The social crisis in society occurs because the process of social interaction is still fragile regarding the awareness of pluralism and multiculturalism which results in weak social solidarity. Ideally, the issue ends with religious doctrine, which teaches peace and brotherhood with mutual respect. However, this value is lost by an improper understanding of the Qur’an. This study aims to describe and critically analyze multicultural education in the Qur’an as a process of understanding and practicing Islamic teachings in a fair, balanced, and moderate manner. The design of this research is library research whose main object is the Qur’an using the thematic method (mauḍūī), and emancipatory critical hermeneutics as a tool for interpreting and processing text. The results show that Islam is a religion that always advocates harmonization, and hates violence and hypocrisy. The concept of Islam other than monotheism is justice, independence, and freedom. The Prophet was sent to uphold justice because justice is universal. Four freedoms for humans in the Qur’an, are freedom to live, freedom of religion, freedom of ownership, and self-esteem. Pluralism is not only the will of God but also the will of history. Everything is intended so that humans compete in the pursuit of goodness, growing a healthy shared attitude by recognizing each other’s potential, realizing benefits by covering shortcomings, which shows that all humans are equal in the diversity that exists. So that there is no domination of the minority over the majority and an attitude of mutual help grows.

Abstract

AbstractThe massive literacy tradition of the Islamic boarding school community has shaped the legacy of Islamic scholarship in the archipelago so that it becomes an identity in religion, nation and state. This study seeks to reveal the works of Indonesian scholars who have become manuscripts as an effort to maintain the nation's cultural heritage at the Pondok Pesantren Tremas Pacitan and Tebu Ireng Jombang. The type of approach used is descriptive qualitative, using basic philological and codicological methods which are then collected data. The targets studied were limited to formal objects in the form of physical books found, with locations that had been determined from the start. Data was collected using observation, interview, and documentation techniques, combined with source triangulation. The results of this study; 1) Tremas Islamic Boarding School has many manuscripts that are not only sourced from Sheikh Mahfudz at-Tarmasi, but most of the manuscripts have been lost due to flooding or their whereabouts are unknown. and preservation by reprinting and dictating educational subjects; 2) The original Tebuireng masyayikh manuscripts were narrated scattered in various locations both in the family environment and in the dzurriyah students of K.H. Hasyim Asyari, the rescue step was carried out by dzurriyah, namely K.H. Ishomuddin Hadzik, K.H. Zaki Hadzik, and Gus Mirza Zaki Hadzik which is manifested in the form of publishing/reprinting works in the volume of Irsyaadus Saari; 3) The government's concern for the preservation of manuscripts is realized by establishing a database of manuscripts and publishing them on a wider scale as a form of preserving the assets of the nation and state; 4) The existence of libraries in Islamic boarding schools, causes the manuscripts to be more well conditioned and easy to be accessed and read by others. AbstrakMasifnya tradisi literasi masyayikh pondok pesantren telah membentuk warisan keilmuan Islam di Nusantara sehingga menjadi identitas dalam beragama, berbangsa, dan bernegara. Penelitian ini berupaya mengungkap karya-karya ulama nusantara yang telah menjadi manuskrip sebagai upaya menjaga warisan budaya bangsa di Pondok Pesantren Tremas Pacitan dan Tebu Ireng Jombang. Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan menggunakan metode filologi dan kodikologi dasar yang kemudian dilakukan pendataan. Sasaran yang dikaji sebatas objek formal berupa fisik kitab yang ditemukan, dengan lokasi yang telah ditentukan sejak awal. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dipadukan dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian ini; 1) Ponpes Tremas memiliki banyak manuskrip yang tidak hanya bersumber dari syeikh Mahfudz at-Tarmasi, namun sebagian besar dari manuskrip tersebut hilang disebabkan banjir atau belum diketahui keberadaannya, kepedulian alumni, santri, pegiat dan pemerhati manuskrip, menggerakkan kesadaran dzurriyah dan pemerintah untuk melakukan penyelamatan dan pelestarian dengan mencetak ulang dan menjadikan diktat matapelajaran pendidikan; 2) Manuskrip masyayikh Tebuireng yang asli diriwayatkan tersebar di berbagai lokasi baik di lingkungan keluarga ataupun di dzurriyah murid K.H. Hasyim Asyari, langkah penyelamatan dilakukan oleh dzurriyah, yaitu K.H. Ishomuddin Hadzik, K.H. Zaki Hadzik, dan Gus Mirza Zaki Hadzik yang diwujudkan dalam bentuk penerbitan/cetak ulang karya dalam bunga rampai Irsyaadus Saari; 3) kepedulian pemerintah dalam pelestarian manuskrip diwujudkan dengan membentuk database manuskrip dan mempublikasikannya dalam skala yang lebih luas sebagai bentuk pelestarian aset bangsa dan negara; 4) keberadaan perpustakan di pondok pesantren, menyebabkan naskah lebih terkondisikan dengan baik dan mudah untuk diakses dan dibaca oleh orang lain.

Abstract

Islam menganjurkan manusia untuk bekerja sama dan tolong menolong (ta’awun) dengan sesama manusia dalam hal kebaikan. Dalam kehidupan sosial kemasyarakatan umat Islam dapat berhubungan dengan siapa saja tanpa batasan ras, bangsa, dan agama. Namun proses tersebut dalam realisasinya mengalami banyak kendala, seperti Fundalisme, Radikalisme, Terorisme. Sikap Islam sebagai agama rahmatan lil alamin sangatlah humanis dan relevan, tidak menggadaikan hal yang profan sebagai keyakinan yang dimiliki penganutnya, akan tetapi juga tidak meninggalkan nilai nilai universal sebagai pesan agama untuk senantiasa menjaga kedamaian antar sesama umat manusia, dengan menumbuhkan Toleransi, Membangun Solidaritas, Menegakkan Demokrasi, Menghindari Fanatisme dalam Beragama. Maka pendidikan Islam berwawasan kerukunan adalah pendidikan yang mampu menjadikan perbedaannya sebagai alat untuk semakin menjadi pribadi yang taat dan tidak keluar dari fitrahnya, yaitu dengan mengajarkan bagaimana cara hidup ditengah pluralitas bangsanya, agar mereka mampu hidup, baik dalam internal kelompoknya maupun eksternal kelompok lain, dapat hidup damai dengan lingkungannya, memaknai perbedaan yang secara bijaksana dan tepat. Hal ini terlihat dalam konsepnya yang: 1) berpijak pada konsep fitrah; 2) bersifat moderat; 3) mengusung misi kemanusiaan (humanisme); 4) Inklusif dalam beragama; 5) meyakini kemajemukan adalah sunnatullah & kebenaran bersifat privat dan universal; 6) mampu hidup berdampingan secara damai dan bekerjasama dengan pemeluk agama lain; 7) tumbuh sikap sportif dalam bersosialisasi dan hidup bersama kelompok lain; 8) mengelola perbedaan secara etis dan berkompetisi secara sehat; 9) jauh dari persepsi yang sempit yang diwujudkan dengan komunikasi yang sehat berdasarkan pengamatan dan pengertian terhadap perbedaan yang ada.

Abstract

There have been many studies discussing the use of social media for disseminating the religious ideology of both conservatism and radicalism. On the contrary, there have been a few studies that deal with how the moderate groups disseminate the discourse of religious moderation, whereas this topic is significant and needs to be discussed to view the strength and weaknesses as well as the contestation between each group. This article presents the production, distribution, consumption, and social practice of the religious moderation discourse throughout the content delivered by the figure from the groups of moderate Islam, from the Regency of Malang. The article is based on the discourse analysis of several pieces that have been produced by the figure and his team on YouTube and Facebook. The study shows that the production of religious moderation discourse in social media is carried out in two ways: conveying messages of religious moderation and countering narratives of conservatism and religious radicalism. The prospect of Islamic moderation discourse holds the opportunity to gain success in countering the narration of religious radicalism. However, the success of discourse contestation is defined by the strength of its distribution.

Abstract

Peace obtained by a husband in guiding his wife can be achieved if the husband and wife carry out harmonious, harmonious and balanced cooperation. This study will examine hadith about husband and wife relationship. The hadith about husband and wife relations in the Gawamee Kaleem application informs that the matan hadith was narrated from 11 companions spread across several hadith books, but from some of these hadith books there are only three books that belong to the nine main hadith books (kutub at tis'ah), namely: Kitab Sunan Tirmidhi by Imam at-Tirmidhi, Sunan Ibn Majjah by Imam Ibn Majjah, and Sunan Darimi by Imam ad – Darimi.The author will examine one of the three, namely the hadith narrated by Tirmidhi No. 3,896 which states that a good man is one who does good to his family. The purpose of this study is to examine the quantity and quality of the hadith narrated by Tirmidhi about husband and wife relationships and to find out the picture in society about the balance of birth and mental income as an effort to maintain family harmony in Kembangsari Village. This research method is library research and field research. From the research it was found that the hadith narrated by Tirmidhi No. 3,896 concerning husband and wife relations is mutawatir and shohih. Fulfillment of physical and mental maintenance in Kembangsari Village to maintain family harmony is very important, based on this hadith, a husband must do good to his wife, especially in fulfilling physical and mental maintenance. The second most important part is fostering and maintaining communication between husband and wife in order to create a strong relationship between each other so that when a problem arises in the household, husband and wife can overcome and resolve it wisely, wisely and lovingly.
