This is a qualitative research method. Observation and interviews are two methods for gathering data. The instruments to be utilized include observation checklists and semi-structured interviews. The researcher discovered that the government's suggested learning model is consistent with its implementation in the classroom, allowing lecturers to be more effective in their teaching and adapt to the needs of their pupils. Abstract

This study examines teachers' strategies as the learning process transitions from face-to-face to online learning. In other words, the researcher is attempting to investigate strategies for piquing students' interest in English learning at home. The qualitative research methodology was utilized for this investigation. The researcher used three methods to conduct this study: observation, interviewing participants, and keeping detailed records. Methods of qualitative data analysis were applied in this particular research project. The subject of this research is the seventh-grade teacher and students at SMPN 1 Sumber Cirebon. This data revealed that using appropriate learning media not only facilitates the delivery of material but also increases effectiveness in achieving learning goals, which can increase interest and motivation to learn. As a result, the accuracy of selecting learning media is determined not by price but rather by the level of efficiency and effectiveness in achieving goals. Students' individual interests had the greatest influence on their career goals, and thus course selections in a well-prepared online classroom would result in successful learning and teaching. This study highlights opportunities for educators, technology developers, curriculum designers, administrators, policymakers, researchers, and academics to enhance online learning experiences, student engagement, and teaching practices.

Abstract

This article examined the lesson plan's poor quality, which hinders language learning because it's only an administrative necessity. The study team set goals. Recognising and designing a lesson plan. This study used the three-stage R&D model of feasibility (need analysis), product development, and validation. Qualitative data analysis improves comprehension, comparison, and interpretation. Comparing questionnaire results led to study conclusions. The study found that students' learning styles have never been used to build effective teaching and learning tactics. Researchers use project-based, social-family, and student-centered learning. The results show that the researchers only employ 16 of the 20 characteristics to develop the lesson plan. Facilitators should also promote student-centered and project-based learning.

Abstract

Purpose: The research aims to develop a learning management system (LMS) for multi-platform use as a mathematics learning medium. Methodology: The methodology employed follows a development model consisting of definition, design, and development stages. During the design phase, an analysis of teachers' and students' needs in mathematics learning using LMS, particularly focusing on materials and functions, is conducted. Additionally, a needs analysis for LMS is performed at this stage. Subsequently, during the design phase, the LMS characteristics and features of the selected system are outlined. In the development stage, feasibility tests and field trials are conducted, incorporating feedback from experts, including program experts (programmers), language experts, and teacher practitioners. Findings: The findings indicate a feasibility level of 93.44%, as assessed by media, material, and language experts. Significance: This suggests its high suitability and effectiveness for implementation.

Abstract

This ethnographic case study delves into the intricate reading habits of a fifth-semester EFL learner, exploring the multifaceted dynamics of her engagement with both fiction and non-fiction literature. The research unfolds the pivotal role of early exposure to reading, fostered by parental encouragement, in shaping a lifelong commitment to literary pursuits. The participant's diverse reading practices, encompassing print and e-books, reflect a nuanced approach to language acquisition and vocabulary enrichment. The study reveals a positive correlation between extensive reading habits and academic performance, particularly in TOEFL reading comprehension and overall language proficiency. The participant's transition from composing stories in Indonesian to writing in English, coupled with the abandonment of subtitles while engaging with English media, underscores the transformative impact of sustained reading habits on language skills. This research not only enhances the understanding of individual reading behaviors but also emphasizes broader implications for language development, academic success, and the cultivation of writing skills.  Further research should investigate the unique impacts of different genres on language acquisition, the influence of digital platforms on reading behaviors, and how reading intersects with socioeconomic and cultural factors. A longitudinal study tracking individuals from infancy to adulthood might uncover the long-term impacts of early literacy. Further investigation is required to explore the impact of personalized reading programs in EFL courses on language proficiency and academic performance. Further research in this field can potentially enhance EFL teaching and overall progress.

Abstract

In response to pandemic-related learning loss, the Indonesian government has implemented a new English language curriculum with a focus on holistic assessment. However, the effectiveness of this curriculum relies on innovative teaching practices. This study positions the author as a curriculum engineer who has developed an online formative assessment concept. The aim of this research is to create a formative assessment tool that records student learning processes, promotes interactive English learning, and overcomes traditional pedagogical practices. By recording student learning processes and integrating technology, such as mind mapping and word clouds, students are able to explore, investigate, and generate new knowledge. The study follows a Research and Development (RD) approach and the developed website highlights the two online formative assessment methods. The findings demonstrate that using the online formative assessment tool can enhance students' critical thinking and communication skills while improving their English proficiency. Based on these results, this study recommends that schools integrate formative assessment tools into their English language curriculum to promote interactive learning and overcome traditional teaching practices. The findings of this study are relevant to educators, policymakers, and curriculum developers interested in promoting interactive English learning in a technology-enhanced learning environment. This study expected to be an assessment innovation in the interactive English.

The data were then analyzed, interpreted, and presented using descriptive explanation. First, it was found that students used various digital tools and performed several digital literacy elements (cultural, cognitive, communicative, and critical) in English online learning. Nevertheless, the lack of technology sources and students' readiness in utilizing technology are regarded as barriers to implement digital literacy in practice. Second, to develop digital literacy in English online learning, students are required to use various digital tools and to recognize a variety of features across digital tools, communicate appropriately with teachers and classmates through digital tools, as well as use technology to evaluate information.
