Abstract

Background: A Fractured front teeth have an impact on children's psychology. Treating the front teeth with good aesthetics restores happiness. Dentists will try to restore fractured front teeth at a low cost will help the patient and family. Objective: #11 pulp necrosis accompanied by Ellis class III fracture, positive percussion test, positive bite test, and grade I mobility. Case: A 12th years old boy, visited pediatric dentistry clinic dr. Ramelan Naval Hospital Surabaya with his mother complaining that her child fell and broke his front teeth. And her child didn't want to go to school because not confident. Case management: Root Canal Treatment was restored with a composite using a palatal index with a layering technique supported by his insurance. Conclusion: The aesthetics of the teeth, especially the anterior teeth, is very important for the patient's confidence because they are visible when smiling, optimal support for children in the process of growth and development both physically and psychologically and selection of the type of treatment needs to consider the patient's finances while maintaining good quality

Abstract

Kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia masih merupakan masalah kesehatan yang perlu diperhatikan terutama pada anak-anak usia sekolah dasar. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia dan menunjang program “Indonesia Bebas Karies 2030”, khususnya pada kelompok masyarakat usia sekolah dan dewasa, Persatuan Dokter Gigi Indonesia (PDGI) dan FDI World Dental Federation akan melakukan kegiatan promotif-preventif. Kegiatan tersebut dinamai “Program Sekolah 21 hari Brush Day and Night”. Program ini dilakukan pada 110 siswa-siswi SD IT Al Uswah Surabaya dengan beberapa kegiatan yang dilakukan diantaranya yaitu edukasi kesehatan gigi dan mulut, sikat gigi bersama, pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut serta pemberian topical aplikasi fluor sebagai pencegahan terhadap karies pada gigi. Hasil dari pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswi SD IT Al Uswah Surabaya memiliki indeks def-t kategori tinggi sehingga perlu dilakukan tindakan promotif-preventif dan juga mengadakan training of trainer ke guru dan orang tua agar bisa mengajarkan kebiasaan menjaga kebersihan rongga mulut. Hasil akhir dari program ini diharapkan dapat mencegah meningkatnya derajat kesehatan gigi dan mulut SD IT Al Uswah Surabaya.

Abstract

Background Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), it was reported that the prevalence of dental and oral problems in Indonesia is still very high, namely 57.6 percent. Of this figure, only 10.20% have received treatment. Dental and oral health in Indonesia, especially in coastal areas, is still a complex problem. (Komarudin, Apriasari and Azizah, 2021) Lack of public attention and equal distribution of health facilities, especially in the field of Dentistry, are still factors that influence public understanding of dental and oral health. Dental and oral health status can be assessed using the DMF-T and def-t indices. Objective To assess the dental and oral health status in children aged 7-10 years MI Tarbiyatut Tholabah, Paciran Lamongan Method Dental and oral examination of children aged 7-10 years MI by assessing the DMF-T and def-t indices. Conclusion The results of the dental and oral examination of students at MI Tarbiyatut Tholabah, Paciran Lamongan with a def-t value of 2.71 which means the dental and oral health status with moderate results, and the DMF-T index with a result of 0.56 which means very low.

Abstract

Latar belakang.  Karies gigi termasuk penyakit infeksi kronis yang biasanya terjadi akibat bakteri kariogenik yang menempel pada gigi yang akan memetabolisme gula sehingga menghasilkan asam, yang seiring dengan waktu akan mendemineralisasi struktur gigi. Anak-anak usia sekolah sangat menyukai makanan dan minuman manis dengan kandungan glukosa tinggi, dan sering kali kurang memahami teknik menyikat gigi yang benar, serta jarang memeriksakan gigi mereka ke fasilitas kesehatan. Metode pelaksanaan. Siswa akan diberikan soal pre test dan post test untuk mengetahui pengetahuannya terhadap kesehatan gigi dan rongga mulut sebelum dan setelah diberikan edukasi dan dilakukan pemeriksaan kondisi rongga mulut siswa oleh  dokter gigi RSGMP Nala Husada. Hasil dan pembahasan. Hasil pre tes dan post tes menunjukkan terdapat 1 orang dari 85 orang siswa yang mengikuti tes memperoleh skor SEMPURNA. Pada kategori NAIK persentasenya adalah 76% yang artinya terdapat 64 orang. Kategori hasil TETAP terdapat 17% berarti terdapat 14 orang yang skornya TETAP. Terdapat 6 orang atau sekitar 8% dari siswa yang nilai post test-nya lebih buruk daripada nilai pre test sehingga termasuk dalam kategori TURUN.Kesimpulan Pemberian edukasi tentang kesehatan gigi dan rongga mulut siswa SD Hang Tuah I memberikan hasil yang baik karena persentase terbesar adalah terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan siswa SD Hang Tuah I tentang kesehatan rongga mulut.

Abstract

Background: Anterior dental trauma is common in children. Traumatic dental injury in children's teeth can interfere with the function of speech, mastication, aesthetics, eruption of permanent teeth, and the growth and development of teeth and jaws. An unclosed and wide-open apex (immature tooth) is a complex case for a pediatric dentist due to multiple stages of treatment and different options compared to adults. Objective: To explain the management of post-traumatic dental immature teeth. Case: An eight-year-old male child came to the clinic one month after getting a dental injury. This case is classified into Class IV Ellis and Davey's traumatic dental injury classification with immature teeth. Case Management Apexification uses Ca(OH)2 paste followed by an acrylic provisoris restoration while the jaw grows. Conclusion: Apexification using Ca(OH)2 paste followed by acrylic provisions crown restoration is a proper treatment in this case.
