Abstract

In an education system, the curriculum is dynamic and constantly changing and developing to support the developments and challenges of the times. However, changes and developments must be carried out in a systematic and directed manner, not just changes. The history of the program in Indonesia has come a long way, history records changes after 1947, 1952, 1964, 1975, 1984, 1994, 2004, 2006 and the most recent program in 2013. Therefore, in order not to fall into the same genre, the government must make every effort possible so that curriculum implementers in the field, especially teaching staff, can understand curriculum ideas adequately and correctly. The curriculum as a new reform strategy is more important than the teacher as merely implementing the curriculum. On the other hand, changes are needed in the formulation of the curriculum, the curriculum must be formulated holistically, taking into account the philosophical, educational, sociological, social, cultural, technical and political foundations as the basis of the curriculum, and taking into account the real conditions of society and the world of education.

Abstract

The quality of teacher-student interactions in Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) plays an essential role in shaping students' learning interest, particularly in Vocational High Schools (SMK) that emphasize skill-based learning. This study, conducted at SMK Armaniyyah Bekasi, aims to explore the relationship between the quality of teacher-student interactions and students' learning interest in BKI. The main objective is to examine how factors such as communication, emotional support, trust, and empathy from teachers influence students' motivation and engagement in BKI learning. The research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design, gathering data through questionnaires distributed to students at SMK Armaniyyah Bekasi to assess their perceptions of teacher-student interactions. Additionally, a qualitative approach was implemented through in-depth interviews to provide a more comprehensive understanding of students' experiences. The initial hypothesis suggests that improved teacher-student interactions lead to increased interest in learning BKI. The study's findings are expected to offer valuable insights for educators, helping them enhance their interactions with students and develop learning strategies that cater to both the academic and spiritual needs of vocational school students. Moreover, these results aim to contribute to the development of adaptive curricula and Islamic education practices within vocational education contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Opinion Gap Tasks in the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) framework facilitate students' speaking skills development through opinion exchange activities and analyze how gender differences influence students' participation, interaction patterns, and performance during these tasks. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving 11th-grade students from a high school in Lembang. Data were collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews, and analyzed using Braun and Clarke's (2006) Thematic Analysis and Toulmin's (1958) Argumentation Model. The findings reveal different communication and reasoning patterns between male and female students. Female students were more expressive, emotional, and confident, often relying on experiential reasoning and empathy, while male students were more logical, structured, and cautious in their argumentation. Despite these differences, both genders found Opinion Gap Tasks effective in enhancing fluency, confidence, and critical thinking in speaking English. These tasks also fostered respect for differing opinions, learner autonomy, and reflective awareness in communication. Overall, the study concludes that integrating Opinion Gap Tasks into TBLT effectively promotes inclusive communicative competence and meaningful language learning in the EFL classroom. Keywords: Task-Based Language Teaching, Opinion Gap Tasks, Opinion Exchange, Gender, Speaking Skills.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Miro, a digital visual collaboration platform, into the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) to enhance collaborative writing among eighth-grade students in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through classroom observations, student interviews, and document analysis of student writing. The integration of Miro addressed key challenges in vocabulary development and idea organization, while also fostering student engagement, peer interaction, and structured language production. Students reported increased motivation, reduced writing anxiety, and greater confidence in expressing their ideas. Miro’s visual tools supported brainstorming, sequencing, and revision activities, enabling learners to develop not only their linguistic abilities but also critical thinking and digital communication skills. The findings highlight the pedagogical value of combining inductive teaching models with interactive digital platforms to support student-centered, collaborative learning in EFL instruction.

Abstract

This study explores how complex narrative tasks implemented within the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) framework building communication habits among EFL students in a senior high school in Jakarta. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews with students and their English teacher. The analysis revealed four major complexities: vocabulary limitations, grammatical inaccuracies, pronunciation issues, and emotional barriers such as anxiety and low confidence. Despite these challenges, students reflected positively on narrative-based TBLT activities, reporting improvement in vocabulary mastery, pronunciation, and understanding of narrative structure, along with increased confidence and motivation. The findings indicate that consistent engagement in complex narrative tasks not only develops linguistic accuracy and fluency but also encourages reflective and sustainable communication habits. This study highlights the pedagogical value of integrating narrative-based TBLT in EFL speaking classrooms and suggests that teachers design staged tasks with sufficient scaffolding to balance linguistic, cognitive, and affective demands.

Abstract

Modern derivative markets provide flexibility and risk management but pose challenges for Sharia compliance due to potential gharar (uncertainty) and maysir (speculation). This study employs a library research approach to evaluate the conformity of conventional derivatives with Islamic law principles in Indonesia. The analysis highlights that futures, options, and swaps rely on price predictions without actual asset ownership, risking violations of al-mal and al-bay’ principles. National regulations, including DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 80/DSN-MUI/III/2011, OJK, and BEI, have not explicitly addressed Sharia-compliant derivatives, while public literacy remains low. Alternatives through salam, istisna’, and urbun contracts show potential for real-based derivative contracts that minimize gharar and maysir while adhering to Sharia principles. Financial technologies such as blockchain and smart contracts can enhance transparency, efficiency, and compliance. Practical implications include strengthening Sharia derivative regulations, increasing digital literacy and public education, and innovating products responsive to domestic and global market needs. Through collaborative strategies among regulators, academics, industry, and religious authorities, Sharia derivatives can become strategic instruments to expand financial inclusion, strengthen market integrity, and support the growth of Indonesia’s Islamic finance industry. This study provides a conceptual foundation for regulation development, instrument design, and public education regarding Sharia derivatives in Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze derivative transactions in the stock exchange from the perspective of Islamic law, focusing on the concepts of gharar (uncertainty) and speculation. Employing a comprehensive literature review design, the research examines both classical and contemporary Islamic sources, as well as relevant capital market regulations. The findings reveal that purely speculative derivatives (such as futures and options without physical delivery) contain excessive gharar and are therefore problematic under Sharia principles. In contrast, derivatives designed for risk management (hedging), such as Salam Futures, Istisna’ Futures, or Ijarah-based Options, show potential compliance with Sharia when structured with clear limitations and subject to strict supervision. The implications highlight the need for a more comprehensive regulatory framework for Sharia-compliant derivatives, the development of products based on Islamic contracts, and the enhancement of Sharia financial literacy in Indonesia. The originality of this research lies in its in-depth integration of gharar and speculation analysis in the context of derivatives, offering practical guidance for the development of modern Sharia-compliant financial instruments.
