Abstract

The village of Sumbersari faced an increase in dengue fever cases, while residents still relied on chemical insecticides that were harmful to health and the environment. The lack of knowledge about the use of natural ingredients such as lemongrass and basil prompted the implementation of socialization, education, and practical training for PKK mothers. Activities included providing materials, discussions, pre-tests and post-tests, as well as hands-on practice in making natural sprays. As a result, residents' understanding increased from 75% to 95%, and their independent production skills also improved. This program has successfully empowered the community through safe, environmentally friendly, economical solutions that support healthy lifestyles and sustainable dengue fever prevention.

Abstract

Introduction: Approximately one-quarter of the global population is estimated to be infected with tuberculosis (TB). TB is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and remains the second leading cause of death from infectious diseases worldwide after COVID-19. Transmission of TB occurs through airborne droplets released from respiratory secretions. Indonesia ranks second globally in terms of the number of TB cases. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with measures to prevent tuberculosis in adolescents. Methods: This study employed an analytical design using a survey method with a correlational approach. Bivariate analysis was conducted using Kendall’s tau, while multivariate analysis was performed using linear regression. The study population consisted of 293 adolescents, with a sample of 75 respondents selected using a quota sampling technique. Results: The results of the analysis of knowledge and attitudes using kendall tau obtained a p-value = 0.001 and p-value = 0.000 and linear regression obtained a p-value = 0.000. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes with tuberculosis prevention practices among adolescents. Suggestions to further improve TB prevention measures, especially regarding covering the mouth when coughing, balanced nutritional intake, and healthy living behavior.

Abstract

Introduction: The incidence rate of HIV/AIDS among adolescents remains significantly high in the health sector. One contributing factor is the lack of knowledge and awareness among adolescents regarding the causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using the Think-pair-share  method on adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes towards HIV/AIDS prevention in Karangtinggil Village. Methods: This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The study population included all 40 adolescents in Karangtinggil Village, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a structured closed-ended questionnaire on knowledge and attitudes. After data tabulation, analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: Adolescents who had good knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention increased from 10% to 85%, and respondents with positive attitudes increased from 32.5% to 95%. The statistical test showed a significance level of p < 0.001 (with a significance threshold of p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is an influence of the think-pair-share  method of health education on the level of knowledge and attitudes of adolescents regarding HIV/AIDS prevention in Karangtinggil Village. Abstract

Introduction: Early marriage is a problem that has a significant impact on the physical, mental, and social health of adolescents. One of the main factors influencing early marriage is the low knowledge of adolescents about the risks and impacts. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using audio-visual media on increasing knowledge about preventing early marriage at SMPN 1 Sambeng. Methods: The research design used was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 62 seventh-grade students selected through simple random sampling. This study was conducted on February 13, 2025, at SMPN 1 Sambeng. The intervention, in the form of an educational video about early marriage, was conducted once, followed by measuring the level of knowledge before and after the intervention using a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The research results showed an increase in the average knowledge of seventh-grade students about the prevention of early marriage, from a pretest score of 71.85 to a posttest score of 91.1. The study was conducted on seventh-grade students with a total of 41 male and 21 female participants. Conclusion: The results of the study showed a significant increase in the level of student knowledge after receiving health education through audio-visual media. It can be concluded that audio visual media is effective in increasing students' knowledge about early marriage. Keywords: Audiovisual, Early marriage, Health education,  Knowledge, Youth.

Abstract

Sumbersari Village is one of the few places where child marriage is still a problem. Children's mental health, education, and future prospects are all negatively impacted by this practice. The KKN (Community Service Program) group organizes community service projects that teach fifth and sixth graders about the dangers of child marriage and give them the opportunity to socialize. One of the strategies used is a question and answer session with incentives to increase student engagement, as well as presenting material in simple language and facilitating interactive conversations. The results show that students' interest and knowledge about child marriage risks increases. This activity has limitations due to its limited reach, especially for elementary school children, and the relatively basic nature of the subject matter. Therefore, for initiatives to combat child marriage to be more successful and sustainable, follow-up programs involving parents, adolescents, and community leaders are essential. Collaboration with relevant parties is needed to create deeper policies, as well as increase awareness of the importance of women's education and empowerment in preventing child marriage.
