Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze students' critical thinking skills in the Chemistry Bond subject. This research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The participant of this research were 190 grade X and XI students from several high schools in Tanjungpinang city. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling at several schools accredited A and B by BSNP. Data collection techniques used 8 test instruments representing 4 aspects of critical thinking, including aspects of providing explanations, building basic skills, managing strategies-tactics, and concluding. Classically, the critical thinking ability of high school students Tanjungpinang city on the Chemical Bond subject is still relatively low with average score is 34.45.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the experience of preservice science teacher in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in Tanjungpinang. This research is a survey research, with a quantitative descriptive research method. The sample is determined using total sampling technique, with totaling 278 peoples. The research instrument used a questionnaire in the Google Form. The results showed that almost all preservice science teacher took part in online learning from home using smartphone devices and learning platforms in the form of whatsapp and google classroom, as well as video conferencing, namely zoom. Most preservice science teacher still do practicums that are carried out independently at home and also virtually. Limited networks and internet data packages are two major aspects that interfere with online learning. However, preservice science teacher feel the benefits of online learning, among others, being efficient in terms of time, increasing digital technology literacy, and avoiding Covid-19.

Abstract

Soal kemampuan berpikir kritis yang berkualitas dibutuhkan untuk mengukur pencapaian siswa setelah mengikuti program pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru. Soal yang baik juga dibutuhkan agar siswa terlatih untuk menghadapi persoalan yang membutuhkan kemampuan kompleks tersebut. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan agar guru IPA dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menyusun soal kemampuan berpikir kritis dan menganalisisnya dengan Model RASCH. Pelatihan dilaksanakan secara tatap muka sebanyak dua pertemuan dan dikombinasikan dengan pembimbingan secara daring, dengan total 38 JP. Temuan yang diperoleh menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru tentang kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kategori sedang (N-Gain 0,63), peningkatan kualitas soal tes berpikir kritis yang disusun guru, dan peningkatan keterampilan dalam analisis menggunakan Model RASCH

Abstract

Sebuah karya tulis ilmiah yang berisi karya inovatif dalam proses pembelajaran sangat diperlukan oleh guru-guru sebagai syarat kenaikan pangkat dalam pengembangan profesi mereka, termasuk guru-guru SMA/sederajat di Kabupaten Bintan. Namun, pada umumnya mereka mengalami kendala dalam membuat karya tulis ilmiah disebabkan kesulitan dalam mencari sumber referensi yang relevan dengan topik penelitian, keterbatasan pengetahuan dalam TIK, dan kesulitan dalam mengolah kalimat agar tidak terdeteksi sebagai kegiatan plagiasi. Tujuan kegiatan ini agar para guru SMA/sederajat di Kabupaten Bintan dapat membuat karya tulis ilmiah yang sesuai kaedah penulisan yang baik dan bebas plagiasi dengan bantuan manajemen referensi Mendeley. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dalam bentuk workshop/pelatihan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab, dan projek. Kegiatan dilakukan selama dua hari dalam bentuk workshop dan dua hari dalam bentuk tugas mandiri. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dianggap berhasil karena sebesar 80% peserta mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan tentang manajemen referensi Mendeley dan mampu mengaplikasikannya ke dalam bentuk karya tulis ilmiah yang bebas plagiasiKata Kunci: GMP; Terasi Tutok, Standarisasi; Kuala Pusing Kapal.Development of Mendeley Reference Assisted Scientific Writing Ability Management for High Schools Teachers in BintanAbstractA scientific paper containing innovative work in the learning process is very much needed by teachers as a condition of promotion in their professional development, including high school / equivalent teachers in the Bintan Regency. However, in general, they experience difficulties in making scientific papers due to difficulties in finding reference sources that are relevant to the research topic, limited knowledge in ICT, and difficulty in processing sentences so as not to be detected as plagiarism activities. The purpose of this activity is for high school / equivalent teachers in Bintan Regency to be able to make scientific papers in accordance with good writing methods and to be free of plagiarism with the help of Mendeley's reference management. The implementation of this activity is in the form of workshops/training using lecture, discussion, question and answer, and project methods. The activity was carried out for two days in the form of a workshop and two days in the form of an independent assignment. This community service activity was considered successful because 80% of the participants experienced an increase in knowledge about Mendeley's reference management and were able to apply it in the form of plagiarism-free scientific papers.

Abstract

Dunia Pendidikan harus beradaptasi dengan kehidupan saat New Normal. Sekolah yang akan melaksanakan pembelajaran tatap muka harus mempersiapkan diri dengan baik. Jika pembelajaran tatap muka dilaksanakan maka protokol kesehatan 5M (Mencuci tangan, menjaga jarak, memakai masker, mengurangi mobilitas, dan menjauhi kerumunan) yang ketat harus dilaksanakan. Demi menyikapi hal ini perlu diadakan program edukasi Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun (CTPS) dan penggunaan masker yang baik dan benar melalui Video Learning. Kegiatan Edukasi New Normal ini dilakukan di Lingkungan Sekolah SD Negeri 001 Teluk Sebong Kabupaten Bintan dengan peserta, berasal dari siswa, guru, kepala sekolah, dan penjaga sekolah. Kegiatan edukasi berjalan dengan lancar dan tanpa hambatan serta respons civitas sekolah yang antusias. Setelah kegiatan edukasi dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa tingkat pemahaman tertinggi peserta kegiatan edukasi yaitu tentang protokol kesehatan 5M sebesar 94,95%.

Abstract

One effort to improve student learning outcomes is to choose teaching media that are appropriate and attract students' attention. The media developed is a three-dimensional ball teaching media.The purpose of this study is to develop three-dimensional atomic ball teaching media, to find out the validity level of three-dimensional atomic ball teaching media, to find out the practicalities of the three-dimensional atomic ball teaching media that have been developed. This research is a type of Research and Development (R & D) research using a 4D development model, namely define, design, develop, and dessiminatebut is limited to the develop stage. The teaching media developed were validated by media experts and material experts. The subject of this research trial was a chemistry teacher to find out the practicality of three-dimensional atomic balls teaching media, and 20 students of East Siantan 1 High School to find out the practicality of three-dimensional atomic balls. The method used to analyze data uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the validity of three-dimensional atomic ball teaching media for atomic structure material was obtained from the results of a media expert's assessment of 95.19% with very valid criteria, and the material expert's assessment was 81.23% with very valid criteria.The practicality test results were obtained from teacher responses of 92.5% with very practical criteria, and 81.41% student responses with very practical criteria. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that atomic ball teaching media in three dimensions of atomic structure are worthy of being used as learning media by teachers and students.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the practicality and effectiveness of educational game media using the Lectora Inspire application on chemical equilibrium. This study used research and development (R&D) methods, with the ADDIE research model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In this study only the Implementation and Evaluation stage was carried out. The test subjects in this study were 2 teachers and 20 students of class XI IPA 2 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Tanjungpinang. The results of practicality tests using teacher questionnaire responses was 88% with the category of very practical and in terms of student responses, it was obtained a percentage of 84% with very practical criteria. In the aspect of effectiveness obtained learning outcomes with pretest and posttest scores N-Gain 0.5 results in the medium category. Based on the results of evaluations conducted by educative game media using the Lectora Inspire application on chemical equilibrium, it is declared practical, and effective for use.

Abstract

Penelitian iniĀ  bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dihadapi oleh siswa dan guru dalam materi ikatan kimia berdasarkan konsep interaksi elektrostatik dan aturan oktet. Metode penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pada pengumpulan data penelitian ini yaitu dengan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah dianalisis menggunakan analisis isi induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa faktor menjadi penyebab tantangan dan kesulitan belajar bagi siswa pada materi ikatan kimia. Yaitu faktor internal, faktor eksternal dan pemahaman siswa. Faktor internal yang menjadi tantangan siswa dalam pembelajaran materi ikatan kimia yaitu minat siswa itu sendiri. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan masih kurangnya minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran materi ikatan kimia. Faktor eksternal berupa metode pengajaran yang digunakan guru untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran materi ikatan kimia yaitu dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran diskusi informasi dan menggunakan alat peraga untuk menunjang pemahaman siswa. Ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana juga mejadi faktor penunjang dalam proses pembelajaran kimia. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan fasilitas yang digunakan masih kurang memadai sehingga pada pembelajaran kimia tidak pernah dilakukan eksperimen. Faktor terakhir yaitu pemahaman siswa. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan masih kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi ikatan kimia, kesalahan dalam pemahaman akan menyebabkan terjadinya miskonsepsi. Hasil wawancara guru menunjukkan masih adanya miskonsepsi pemahaman siswa terhadap materi ikatan kimia. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman mengenai prinsip aturan oktet dan interaksi elektrostatik masih tergolong rendah.

Abstract

Collaborative skills of students in the lecture process are still not optimal, whereas collaboration skills are the main skills that must be possessed by students in an effort to become quality individuals. This study aims to analyze the collaboration skills of students of the Biology Education undergraduate study program using the team-based project model. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The subjects in the study were 40 first-semester Biology Education undergraduate students using the total sampling technique. The data collection method used was by distributing a collaboration skills questionnaire via googleforms. The questionnaire distributed contained 9 aspects of collaboration skills. The results of this study are the average percentage of skill indicators including, 1) positive collaboration interdependence of 87.80%; 2) face-to-face interaction of 69.37%; 3) personal responsibility of 88.75%; 4) communication skills of 90.62%; and 5) group work skills of 85.62%. So overall the collaboration skills of students who apply the team-based project model are included in the very good category.
