Abstract

Students are required to be capable of 21st Century Skills in biology learning. One of the demands is metacognitive ability and higher order thinking skills. This study aimed to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on metacognitive abilities and high-order thinking skills of high school students in biology learning, by studying literature with narrative review. The data is presented in a table listing scientific articles which were analyzed descriptively into research data. Based on the analysis, it is known that PBL has an effect on students' metacognitive and higher order thinking abilities. With PBL, students are helped to improve their metacognitive abilities so that they can think to solve problems. The stages in PBL are related to aspects of higher order thinking skills. This shows that PBL affects students' metacognitive and higher order thinking abilities.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has changed the order of people's lives, and is a factor that has a major influence on learning, one of which is biology practicum at the university level. This study aims to evaluate the online biology practicum in the Biology Education Study Program, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. This study uses a stake evaluation model. Determination of sample using the Slovin method and obtained 132 students. Collecting data by observation and questionnaires. Descriptive quantitative data analysis. Based on the findings, it is known that in the aspects of preparation and planning; preparation of practicum plan sheets, practicum rules, and practicum implementation instructions; categorized as very good. In the aspect of implementation, it is categorized as good, and learning outcomes are categorized as good.

Abstract

Salah satu kompetensi yang harus dikuasai oleh mahasiswa calon guru biologi adalah kompetensi pedagogi yang berkaitan dengan penyusunan rencana pembelajaran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan mahasiswa calon guru biologi di program studi pendidikan biologi FKIP UAD dalam menyusun RPP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan angket untuk memperoleh data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan mahasiswa calon guru biologi di prodi Pendidikan biologi FKIP UAD dalam menyusun RPP berada dalam kategori baik, akan tetapi mahasiswa masih mengalami kendala dalam penentuan indikator pencapaian kompetensi, pemilihan model pembelajaran, dan penentuan instrumen penilaian.

Abstract

The success of the learning process is inseparable from the ability of the teacher to apply creative and innovative learning models, in order to provide a stimulus for students to be more active in the learning process. The teacher-centered teaching and learning process has an impact on students who do not have learning motivation and an impact on low student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the increase in cognitive learning outcomes and student motivation with the Guided Inquiry learning model on biology material with literature review analysis. This research is a literature review study with the type of narrative review. There are 30 scientific articles used in this research from 1 international journal, 25 accredited national journals, and 4 proceeding articles. The data presentation technique uses a table listing scientific publication articles which will be analyzed into research data. The data analysis technique was carried out qualitatively descriptive by analyzing and identifying scientific articles to produce a more informative summary. The results of literature review research indicate that the Guided Inquiri model can improve student cognitive learning outcomes and motivation. The Guided Inquiri learning model has advantages that make students able to develop intellectual abilities, communicate, and solve problems. The Guided Inquiry learning model combined with media and learning strategies can provide a significant increase in student activity.

Abstract

Kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah masih rendah karena siswa belum terbiasa dilatih dalam memecahkan masalah. Keterampilan proses sains siswa masih rendah karena pembelajaran biologi kurang menekankan pada aspek keterampilan proses sains sehingga siswa belum sepenuhnya memiliki keterampilan proses sains. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model PBL terhadap problem solving skills dan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi biologi. Penelitian ini adalah literature review dengan jenis narrative review. Artikel ilmiah yang  digunakan pada penelitian ini  berjumlah 27 artikel ilmiah yang terdiri dari 1 jurnal internasional, 21 jurnal nasional terakreditasi SINTA, 1 artikel prosiding seminar internasional, 4 jurnal nasional belum terakreditasi.Teknik penyajian data menggunakan tabel daftar artikel ilmiah yang akan dianalisis menjadi data hasil penelitian. Teknik analisis dilakukaan secara kualitatif deskriptif dengan menganalisis dan mengidentifikasi artikel ilmiah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis keseluruhan dari artikel ilmiah menunjukan bahwa model PBL berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada pembelajaran biologi. Model PBL memiliki kelebihan yang membuat siswa memiliki keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, berkomunikasi dan mempunyai kemampuan dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Sintak model PBL saling berhubungan dengan aspek pada kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Model PBL yang dipadukan dengan media dan strategi pembelajaran ternyata memberikan pengaruh yang lebih siginfikan.

Abstract

Literasi lingkungan perlu dimiliki oleh generasi sekarang untuk keberlangsungan generasi yang akan datang, begitu juga dengan mahasiswa keguruan yang akan berperan mencerdaskan generasi mendatang. Penelitian ini menekankan pemahaman mahasiswa keguruan mengenai literasi lingkungan. Survei dilakukan terhadap 219 mahasiswa FKIP UAD dengan menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman mahasiswa FKIP UAD terkait literasi lingkungan termasuk dalam kategori cukup, pemahaman literasi lingkungan mencakup 4 aspek yaitu kompetensi terhadap lingkungan, pengetahuan terhadap lingkungan, sikap terhadap lingkungan, serta perilaku dan tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan. Literasi lingkungan yang dimiliki mahasiswa berkontribusi pada pelaksanaan program kampus hijau di UAD. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan perlu tindakan penguatan literasi lingkungan, sehingga tujuan dari agent of change, agent of development dan Agent of Modernizations pada mahasiswa dapat terbentuk.

Abstract

Environmental literacy is a person's conscious attitude in protecting the environment so that the balance is maintained. The impact of the environmental approach in learning can bring out students' curiosity about the environment around them, for example through textbooks. The phenomenon of textbooks, especially biology, needs to be reviewed to adapt to the current context, namely the issue of environmental damage. However, in reality biology textbooks do not provide a portion in instilling environmental literacy so that students' environmental literacy is low. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of aspects of environmental literacy in class X high school biology textbooks, to find out whether the class X high school biology textbooks support environmental literacy-based learning, to analyze the scope of environmental literacy in class X high school biology textbooks. Research This is a descriptive study, using a quantitative approach to analyze the Biology textbooks for class X SMA published by Erlangga and Yudhistira. The object of this study was the even semester material in class X high school biology textbooks and the subject of this research was the class X high school biology textbook published by Erlangga and Yudhistira. Selection of research subjects using purposive sampling. The data collection technique used was observation and the instrument used in this study was an observation sheet to analyze the content of aspects of environmental literacy in class X high school biology textbooks on even semester material. This instrument uses a guttman rating scale with intervals (yes/no). The data analysis technique performed in this study used a quantitative descriptive technique. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the level of environmental literacy textbooks for class X high school biology used in the city of Yogyakarta was in the low category. In the odd semester, textbook publisher A achieved a score of 24% and textbook publisher B achieved a score of 23.6%. Whereas in the even semester class X biology book the level of environmental literacy is also in the low category. The percentage in textbooks of publisher A was obtained by a percentage of 21% and for textbooks by publisher B was obtained by a percentage of 37%. The aspect that appears the most is the aspect of environmental knowledge, while the aspect that appears the least is the aspect of attitude.Kata kunci: Literasi Lingkungan, Buku Ajar, Biologi

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of the digital student activity sheet (LKPD) focused on mushroom materials, as assessed by experts and teachers; to gather students' responses to the digital LKPD utilizing a scientific approach; and to assess the overall feasibility of this digital KTPD in enhancing the learning process related to mushroom materials. This research has been carried out in the form of a 4-D development model. The evaluation of material experts received a percentage of 88.02% with a very good category, so this teaching material is suitable for use as a class x teaching material for mushroom material. The average of the small group test and the large group test was declared very good. The feasibility aspect of the scientific approach received 95.00% with the category of very good and the aspect of ability received 85.00%. The long-term impact study could measure knowledge retention, engagement, and application of concepts over time. This study could explore the potential for cross-curricular connections, particularly with environmental science or technology, to enhance students' understanding of fungal materials and their applications.

Abstract

Pembelajaran abad 21 memiliki prinsip pokok bahwa pembelajaran harus berpusat pada siswa, bersifat kolaboratif, kontekstual, dan terintegrasi dengan masyarakat. Dominansi pendekatan teacher center menyebabkan aktivitas siswa rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran jigsaw untuk meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dan untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dialami dalam menggunakan model pembelajaran jigsaw pada pembelajaran IPA Biologi di sekolah menengah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi literatur dengan jenis narrative review. Berdasarkan hasil studi literatur diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran jigsaw dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa sekolah menengah pada pembelajaran IPA biologi dan terdapat kendala yang dialami seperti membutuhkan waktu yang lama, kurangnya kerjasama siswa, dalam pembentukan kelompok suasana kelas masih kurang kondusif dan siswa masih belum terbiasa menggunakan model pembelajaran jigsaw.
