Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction between training models on the performance of tennis service biomechanics. This study used an experimental method with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The population in this study were all 12 players of the male KKO SMPN 1 Surakarta. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling, the size of the sample taken is 12 players. The data analysis technique in this study used ANOVA. Based on the results of the study, it turns out that players who have high eye-hand coordination with the live demonstration exercise model have a tennis service biomechanics performance of 189,356 better than players with high eye-hand coordination and receive treatment with a video demonstration exercise model of 28,815. Players who have low eye-hand coordination with the video demonstration exercise model have a tennis service biomechanics performance of 76,701 better than players with low eye-hand coordination and receive treatment with a live demonstration exercise model of 48,290. So it can be concluded that there is an interaction between the exercise model and eye-hand coordination on the biomechanics performance of tennis service. Players who have high eye-hand coordination are more suitable if given a live demonstration exercise model. Players who have low eye-hand coordination are more suitable if given a video demonstration exercise model.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic condition commonly caused by deficiencies in insulin secretion or activity. Chronic non-communicable diseases (DM) have emerged as a significant health problem worldwide. By 2035, approximately 9% of the world's population will have type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Solutions are needed to address further management of T2DM, including education for comprehensive care that can be provided to people with type 2 DM through Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME). This study aims to determine how patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus can reduce their blood glucose levels by applying the Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) intervention. This systematic review followed the design and outcome stages' reporting item guidelines (PRISMA). Based on the Cochrane database, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Scopus, 15,789 research articles used related keywords. The inclusion criteria were Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients, patients without severe symptoms or other complications, patients capable of self-care, studies published between 2017 and 2023 as the year of publication, full-text articles, and English-only publications. After the screening process, twelve research articles were obtained according to the inclusion criteria. The analysis method used was the descriptive method. The results of this review are described in narrative form. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) positively impacts monitoring blood glucose and HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is practical to be implemented as a support program to improve diabetes management.

Abstract

Introduction: The literature review study is motivated by the presence of physiological changes indicating a decline in balance and strength in the elderly, considering gender differences. This is attributed to the overall decline in various body systems, including balance and muscle strength, in the elderly. The decrease in muscle quality or strength in the elderly has implications for mobility. Methods: The literature review method was applied to five articles obtained from several databases, namely EBSCO, PubMed, and Springer Link. The search keywords for articles included stretching exercise, elderly balance, elderly strength, and resisted exercise for the elderly. The researcher used "AND" as the Boolean operator. Results: The findings of the literature review indicate that both static and dynamic stretching models, combined with resisted exercise for the lower extremities, have an impact on the balance and strength of the elderly, considering gender differences. Conclusion: The review articles revealed: 1) clinical physiological improvements; 2) increased strength in the elderly, and 3) enhanced balance in the elderly. The literature review results demonstrate an improvement in the balance
