This study aims to analyze the influence of hedonism and religiosity on the consumptive behavior of students at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic Institute of Bukittinggi, West Sumatera, Indonesia. The population in this studi was 3,900 students and the sample was 363 of them that were selected by using the cluster sampling techniques. The results showed that hedonism has a positive influence on the consumptive behavior of students, it means that the higher of the level of hedonism, the higher the consumptive behavior of students. Meanwhile, religiosity was found to have the negative effect on the consumptive behavior of students, its meant that the higher the level of religious students, the lower the consumptive behavior of students, this study suggests that hedonism and religiosity explain variations in student consumer behavior by 64.5%, while the remaining 35.5% % is explained by other variables not explored in this study. This finding shows that to manage consumption properly, students must control their hedonism and increase their level of religiosity so that they will far from consumptive habits.

This study aims to analyze the effect of Financial Sustainability as proxied by CAR, FDR, ROA, ROE, NOM and BOPO on the outreach of BPR Syariah that are proxied by the number of financing customers in West Sumatra Province. The study population was all BPR Syariah in the Province of West Sumatra, the research sample was taken using purposive sampling technique to obtain a sample of 6 companies. The data analysis technique used is the panel data regression method which is a combination of cross section data and time series data using STATA 13 software. While testing the hypothesis using the GLS model with a significance level of 5%. The results of the analysis showed that partially the FDR and ROA variables had a significant effect on increasing outreach while the other variables had no significant effect on the outreach of BPR Syariah in West Sumatra Province. Financial Sustainability has a significant simultaneous effect on the outreach of Sharia Rural Banks in West Sumatra Province. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Financial Sustainability yang diproksikan oleh CAR, FDR, ROA, ROE, NOM dan BOPO terhadap jangkauan BPR Syariah yang diproksikan dengan jumlah nasabah pembiayaan di Propinsi Sumatera Barat. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh BPR Syariah yang ada di Propinsi Sumatera Barat, sampel penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh sampel sebanyak 6 perusahaan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode regresi data panel yang merupakan gabungan dari data cross section dan data time series dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak STATA 13. Sedangkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan model GLS dengan tingkat signifikansi 5%. Hasil analisis menunjukkan secara parsial variable FDR dan ROA memilik ipengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan jangkauan sedangkan variable lainnya berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap jangkauan BPR Syariah di Propinsi Sumatera Barat. Financial Sustainability memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan secara simultan terhadap jangkauan BPR Syariah di Propinsi Sumatera Barat

The purpose of this study investigates whether financial literacy affects the preferences of choosing the funding product at Islamic Banks. The research method used is a quantutative method that uses a sample of 385 customers of Islamic banks in Tanah Datar district, under condition 2018, this study reveals that financial literacy is positively associated with the preferences of choosing funding products. This finding offer the empirical evidence of the importance on the relationship of financial literacy to the preferences of choosing the funding product. It indicates that the financial literacy is a important point in Islamic banks thay will make peoples turn to Islamic banks . Furthermore, this research recommends strategy of increasing market share of Islamic Bank by increasing public’s finance literacy.

Islamic Rural Banking (populer as BPRS in Indonesia) is a kind of banking which conducts finance and loan especially in rural area. This monetary institution focuses to main function as a bank which gives the service to small and micro enterprises and based on Islamic principles in their operational system. By providing the fund to productive sectors, the economics will be tough and more competitive. That is why, this rural bank is also called “community bank”. In supporting financial inclusion -a concept where each person has a full access to monetary service, with competitive cost, convenience and prestige- the contribution of these community banks have really existed. On the other hand, the optimalization of this contribution process constraints to many things that covers internal and external problem. The finding of research recommends some strategies to improve the role of community bank in supporting financial inclusion in rural area, such as: reinforcement in regulation’s strategy, socialization’s strategy, competition’s strategy and human resource’s strategy Islamic Rural Banking (populer digunakan sebagai BPRS di Indonesia) adalah jenis perbankan yang melakukan pembiayaan dan pinjaman terutama di daerah pedesaan. Lembaga keuangan ini berfokus pada fungsi utama sebagai bank yang memberikan layanan untuk usaha kecil dan mikro dan berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip Islam dalam sistem operasional mereka. Dengan memberikan dana ke sektor produktif, ekonomi akan sulit dan lebih kompetitif. Itu sebabnya, BPR ini juga disebut "Bank masyarakat". Dalam mendukung inklusi keuangan, konsep di mana setiap orang memiliki akses penuh ke layanan keuangan, dengan biaya yang kompetitif, kemudahan dan prestige- kontribusi bank komunitas ini telah benar-benar ada. Di sisi lain, optimalisasi kontribusi ini kendala proses untuk banyak hal yang mencakup masalah internal dan eksternal. Temuan penelitian merekomendasikan beberapa strategi untuk meningkatkan peran bank masyarakat dalam mendukung inklusi keuangan di daerah pedesaan, seperti: penguatan dalam strategi regulasi, strategi sosialisasi, strategi persaingan dan strategi sumber daya manusia.

This study examines the impact of commercialization factors, covering profitability, regulation, and competition, on the social performance of Islamic rural banks that cater specifically to the Muslim community. As a community banking institution operating by Islamic principles, Islamic rural banks are faced with two performance targets, namely financial performance and social performance, both of which are interrelated. This study is quantitative research based on a survey on six units of Islamic rural banks in West Sumatra. Data from the financial services authority and other financial documents at Islamic rural banks are analyzed with panel data regression. The findings of this research show that profitability and competition influence social performance. Meanwhile, there is no regulation’s impact on social performance. Regulatory factors that were initially expected to strengthen the social responsibility mission of Islamic rural banks did not stimulate the increase of social performance. This study reveals the importance of the commercialization factor in improving the social performance of Islamic rural banks which aims at increasing the social benefits for the low-income Muslim community.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dampak dari faktor-faktor komersialisasi yang meliputi profitabilitas, regulasi dan kompetisi terhadap kinerja sosial BPR Syariah khususnya kepada penggunanya yaitu masyarakat Muslim. Sebagai sebuah community banking yang beroperasi dalam prinsip-prinsip Islam, BPR Syariah dihadapkan pada dua target kinerja yaitu kinerja keuangan dan kinerja sosial yang keduanya saling terkait. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif berdasarkan survei pada enam unit BPR Syariah di provinsi Sumatera Barat, Data dikumpulkan dari Otoritas Jasa Keuangan dan dokumen di BPR Syariah kemudian dianalisis dengan regresi data panel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa profitabilitas dan persaingan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja sosial, sedangkan regulasi tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja sosial. Faktor regulasi yang semula diharapkan memperkuat misi tanggung jawab sosial BPR syariah, ternyata tidak merangsang peningkatan kinerja sosial. Studi ini mengungkap akan pentingnya faktor komersialisasi dalam meningkatkan kinerja sosial BPR syariah dengan meningkatkan manfaat sosial untuk masyarakat Muslim berpenghasilan rendah.

This study examines the impact of financial sustainability on the achievement of IMFIs (Islamic Microfinance Institutions)’ social performance. It is a quantitative study supported by a survey on six units of Islamic Rural Banks in the province of West Sumatera, Indonesia, from 2012 to 2018. This study used secondary data collected from the publication of financial services authority and other financial documents of Islamic Rural Banks. The data were analyzed by implementing the Panel Data Regression. The results indicate that financial sustainability, proxied by Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), affects social performance achievement. These findings elaborate on the previous studies that identify a relationship between these two aspects in microfinance institutions. The existence of a new predictor in the model, NOM (Net Operating Margin), has proven to give unsignificant impact on the achievement of IMFIs’ social performance. This study concludes that financial sustainability is the driving factor in determining the achievement of IMFIs’ social functions. Thus, strengthening financial sustainability will greatly impact the achievement of IMFIs’ social function in their role as community banking.
