Abstract

Oyster mushroom cultivation by Women Farmers Groups (KWT) in Condongcatur Village has great potential in supporting urban food security, but still faces production efficiency issues. This study aims to analyze the efficiency scores of mushroom farming and their relationship with KWT characteristics, including: age, education, leadership, business facilities, and use of the Internet of Things (IoT). The research method used Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with an output-oriented Variable Returns to Scale (VRS) model on 12 KWTs, accompanied by descriptive and correlation analysis with 35 respondents. The results showed that six KWTs had achieved optimal efficiency scores, while the other six KWTs were still inefficient. The correlation analysis showed that leadership and business facilities had a positive and significant (moderate) relationship, while the use of IoT had a positive and significant (strong) relationship to the efficiency score of oyster mushroom farming. This study provides recommendations for the need for extension regarding the use of IoT in KWTs that have not implemented it by looking at KWTs that have implemented it.

Abstract

This study explores the use of embryo culture as a strategic approach to rescue maize (Zea mays L.) embryos derived from interspecific crosses that fail to develop normally. Not all crosses result in viable seeds; in many cases, embryos remain immature or undergo developmental arrest, which increases the risk of embryo abortion before they can develop into complete plants. Embryo development failure in maize crosses, especially in combinations involving genetically distant genotypes, represents a major constraint in plant breeding programs. Without appropriate intervention, the resulting hybrid genotypes may be lost and consequently slow down the development of new superior varieties. To address this limitation, immature embryo culture represents an effective in vitro technique. Embryo culture involves the excision of young or incompletely developed plant embryos from seeds or ovaries and their subsequent cultivation on nutrient-rich artificial media to support further growth and plant regeneration. The objective of this study was to identify the optimal Murashige and Skoog (MS)-based culture medium composition for immature maize embryo growth using a factorial completely randomized design with three replications. Treatments consisted of combinations of agar concentration (4, 6, 8, and 10 g L⁻¹) and medium strength (0.5 MS, 0.75 MS, and 1 MS). The results indicated no significant interaction between MS medium strength and agar concentration. 1 MS medium produced the best results for shoot height, root length, and root number, whereas 0.75 MS medium resulted in the highest germination percentage. No significant differences were observed among treatments for days to germination and leaf number. An agar concentration of 6 g L⁻¹ yielded the highest germination percentage and shoot height, while other variables were not significantly affected by agar concentration. In conclusion, 1 MS medium or an agar concentration of 6 g L⁻¹ can be recommended for the culture of immature maize embryos

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effects of pruning at different crop ages on the physical, physiological, and biochemical quality of rice seeds, as well as to identify seed responses to variations in pruning timing. The experiment was conducted using a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design on the rice variety Inpari 32. Four pruning treatments were applied, namely no pruning (P0), pruning at 25 days after transplanting (DAT) (P1), 35 DAT (P2), and 45 DAT (P3), with three replications for each treatment. Observations focused on physical seed quality parameters, including moisture content, seed purity, and 1000-seed weight, as well as physiological seed quality parameters, namely germination percentage, vigor index, growth rate, rapid emergence (RE), percentage of normal seedlings, percentage of non-emerged fresh weight, and seed biochemical composition (total sugars, starch, and carbohydrates). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a 5% significance level, followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results revealed that pruning treatments did not significantly affect moisture content, seed purity, growth rate, germination percentage, vigor index, rapid emergence, percentage of abnormal seedlings, non-emerged fresh weight, starch content, or carbohydrate content. However, the highest 1000-seed weight was observed in the non-pruned treatment. In contrast, pruning at 35 DAT resulted in the highest total sugar content compared to other treatments, indicating its potential contribution to improved seed physiological quality. These findings suggest that pruning at an appropriate growth stage may influence specific seed quality attributes, particularly biochemical characteristics.

Abstract

Pembangunan sektor pertain pertanian menjadi hal penting bagi negara serta menjadi sumber mata pencaharian pada sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu jenis pupuk yang paling umum digunakan petani adalah pupuk NPK, yang meskipun efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil pertanian namun memiliki dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan jika tidak digunakan secara berimbang dalam jangka panjang. Di sisi lain, peningkatan produksi whey semakin meningkat dan berisiko menyebabkan pencemaran. Namun kandungan yang dimiliki whey kaya akan protein, laktosa, mineral, dan asam amino yang menjadi unsur utama dalam perkembangan dan pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor internal dan eksternal terhadap persepsi petani mengenai pemanfaatan whey pada tanaman hortikultura. Penelitian dilakukan di Dusun Cancangan, Kalurahan Wukirsari, Kapanewon Cangkringan, Sleman, DIY, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan metode survei melalui kuesioner. Sampel ditentukan secara jenuh terhadap 30 petani hortikultura yang telah mengikuti sekolah lapang pemanfaatan whey. Analisis data dalam penelitian menggunakan dua teknik analisis yaitu analisis deskritpif dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Kesimpulan ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan whey sebagai pupuk organik tidak hanya bermanfaat untuk lingkungan, tetapi juga dapat meningkatkan keberlanjutan ekonomi petani hortikultura. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar bagi kebijakan yang mendorong penggunaan pupuk organik di sektor pertanian hortikultura, serta pengurangan ketergantungan pada pupuk kimia.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCorowanggi is an instant traditional drink typical of Pati Regency produced by PT Prameswari Karsa Abadi. The company faces obstacles in standardizing raw material formulations that cause production cost inefficiencies. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of reformulation of Corowanggi products using variations of sugar and maltodextrin through hedonic tests and financial analysis. The research was carried out at PT Prameswari Karsa Abadi, Sleman, Yogyakarta, using the purposive sampling method with 30 non-standard panelists. Three formulations were tested: A1 (granulated sugar + 15% maltodextrin), A2 (palm sugar + 15% maltodextrin), and A3 (coconut sugar + 15% maltodextrin). The results of the hedonic test showed that the A3 formulation was the most popular overall with the highest average score (3.674) and the most consistent acceptance rate (SD 0.9478). Financial analysis on the selected formula (A3) shows the Cost of Production (HPP) of IDR 1,860.82, the Product Selling Price of IDR 2,977 with a margin of 60%, and a profit of IDR 48,009.24 per one production. The R/C ratio value of 1.6 (> 1) indicates that the Corowanggi reformulation business is feasible. Keywords: business feasibility, corowanggi, hedonic test, maltodextrin, reformulation. ABSTRAKCorowanggi adalah minuman tradisional instan khas Kabupaten Pati yang diproduksi oleh PT Prameswari Karsa Abadi. Perusahaan menghadapi kendala dalam standarisasi formulasi bahan baku yang menyebabkan inefisiensi biaya produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan reformulasi produk Corowanggi menggunakan variasi gula dan maltodekstrin, melalui uji hedonik dan analisis keuangan. Penelitian dilakukan di PT Prameswari Karsa Abadi, Sleman, Yogyakarta, dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan 30 panelis non-standar. Tiga formulasi diuji: A1 (gula pasir + 15% maltodekstrin), A2 (gula aren + 15% maltodekstrin), dan A3 (gula kelapa + 15% maltodekstrin). Hasil uji hedonik menunjukkan bahwa formulasi A3 adalah yang paling populer secara keseluruhan dengan skor rata-rata tertinggi (3,674) dan tingkat penerimaan paling konsisten (SD 0,9478). Analisis keuangan pada formula yang dipilih (A3) menunjukkan Biaya Produksi (HPP) sebesar Rp 1.860,82, Harga Jual Produk Rp 2.977 dengan margin 60%, dan laba Rp 48.009,24 per satu produksi. Nilai rasio R/C sebesar 1,6 (> 1) menunjukkan bahwa bisnis reformulasi Corowanggi layak. Kata kunci: kelayakan bisnis, corowanggi, tes hedonik, maltodekstrin, reformulasi.

Abstract

Limited product information delivery in micro businesses often makes it difficult for consumers to obtain complete product information, especially when products are distributed through third parties without the direct presence of producers. This study aims to design a QR Code-based information system integrated with a website for Sabda Rempah products. The system development method used was the Waterfall method, which includes requirements analysis, system design, system development, and testing. The system was developed using WordPress and QR codes as a links between product packaging and digital information. System testing was conducted using the black-box testing method on both the admin and consumer sides. The results showed tahat all system features functioned properly and validly. The developed system was able to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and accessibility of digital product information through QR Code scanning using smartphonesKeywords: QR Code; Information System; Website; WordPress AbstrakKeterbatasan penyampaian informasi produk pada usaha mikro menyebabkan konsumen sulit memperoleh informasi produk secara lengkap, terutama ketika produk dipasarkan melalui pihak ketiga tanpa kehadiran produsen. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang sistem informasi berbasis QR Code yang terintegrasi dengan website pada produk Sabda Rempah. Metode pengembangan sistem menggunakan Waterfall yang meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, pembuatan, dan pengujian sistem. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan WordPress dan QR Code sebagai penghubung antara kemasan produk dan informasi digital. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan metode black-box testing pada sisi admin dan konsumen. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan seluruh fitur sistem berjalan dengan baik dan valid. Sistem mampu meningkatkan efektivitas, efisiensi, serta kemudahan akses informasi produk secara digital melalui pemindaian QR Code menggunakan smartphone.
