Abstract

Cases of cyberbullying among high school students have become the center of attention of educational institutions as a new form of bullying using information technology. Many studies examine cyberbullying as a new form of bullying. However, studies on school climate, social support, and social self-efficacy in reducing cyberbullying behavior among high school students are still limited. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of school climate, social support, and social self-efficacy on cyberbullying behavior. This study involved 290 high school students in three schools in Kupang City, Indonesia. We used a simple random sampling technique to determine which respondents were involved. SPSS version 20 and Amos 18 software were used to analyze the data for this study. Data analysis in this study used structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The study’s results revealed that school climate and social self-efficacy significantly negatively affected high school students’ cyberbullying behavior. Meanwhile, social support has no direct influence on students’ cyberbullying behavior. Social self-efficacy has also been shown to mediate the effect of school climate on high school students’ cyberbullying behavior. An in-depth discussion is presented in this paper to provide an overview of the critical implications for educational practitioners.

Abstract

We expect that using culture to shape students' identities as part of citizenship learning will result in students who are optimistic and possess a strong identity. Culture plays an important role in the formation of citizens who have a strong identity. This is done by strengthening Indonesian citizens who are religious, obey the law, maintain peace between religious communities, interact with people from various cultures, build social relationships, and feel proud as democratic and responsible citizens. We provide students with the opportunity to learn and apply diverse cultures, fostering the development of more tolerant characters in the future. This study confirms that students in citizenship learn to form strong identities and characters.

Today's students are understood as second generation digital natives (GDN-2) who are close and accustomed to using social media. Previous research explains digital natives in general, the role of social media in digital natives' daily lives. This study focuses on looking at the janus face of social media in GDN-2, the role of the family and their participation in social media. 308 students were willing to fill out a questionnaire as initial data, then in-depth interviews were conducted (N= 31). The research results show that the benefits of social media for GDN-2 are to share information and opinions, reach consumers and add business ideas, a place to learn and reference material, update information, and build relationships. Social media is detrimental to work and main activities, addiction, wasted time, lazing, having to pay for the internet, and false information. There is a family communication anomaly, parents do not have social media but give advice to their GDN-2 children to use social media wisely. This is then reflected in GDN-2's participation on social media. They are careful about spreading information that is not necessarily true, posting and commenting carefully.

Abstract

Pancasila as the nation’s worldview holds an important role in shaping character. The values contained within the principles of Pancasila provide a moral foundation for nursing students in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, especially when working in the digital era marked by the advancement of information and communication technology in healthcare services. Prospective nurses are faced with challenges in nursing practice to ensure that humanitarian and professional principles are not compromised. This study examines how Pancasila can serve as a foundation in shaping the ethics of students in the digital era and highlights the importance of reinforcing Pancasila values. Using a qualitative method, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 13 informants selected through purposive sampling. The results show that nursing students frequently use social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. The most relevant Pancasila principles in the nursing profession are the first, second, and fifth principles. Although these values are important, their implementation is often neglected in the use of social media, particularly concerning nurses’ moral responsibilities, such as keeping patient privacy. Therefore, it is crucial to pay attention to Pancasila values when selecting and curating content before posting, in order to use social media appropriately and meaningfully.
