Abstract

Beras hitam saat ini mulai populer sebagai pangan fungsional seiring dengan kesadaran akan pentingnya kesehatan. Namun, beberapa kendala budidaya mempengaruhi minat petani dalam memproduksi beras hitam, seperti umur tanaman yang panjang, kerentanan terhadap WBC, dan produksi yang rendah. Persilangan dapat dilakukan untuk membentuk tanaman baru dengan sifat yang diinginkan. Metode silang balik digunakan untuk memperbaiki varietas yang sudah mempunyai karakter yang baik, tetapi kurang unggul pada beberapa karakter. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh hasil persilangan backcross 1 dengan tetua (Padi Hitam Jeliteng) sehingga dapat dihasilkan benih generasi backcross 2 untuk dilanjutkan pada backcross generasi berikutnya. Metode persilangan yang digunakan adalah persilangan balik antara 6 nomor (BC1GH8; BC1GH13; BC1GH44; BC1GH46; BC1GH51; BC1GH52) hasil persilangan BC1 antara galur-galur potensial galur padi hitam/Jeliteng//Jeliteng yang disilangkan lagi dengan salah satu tetua, yaitu varietas Jeliteng. Seluruh data hasil pengamatan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil pada variabel umur berbunga, masa pengisian bulir gabah, dan persentase keberhasilan persilangan. Persilangan backcross 2 menghasilkan keturunan F1 Backcross 2 yang bersifat fertil dan dapat digunakan sebagai tetua untuk persilangan backcross generasi berikutnya. Rata-rata persentase keberhasilan dari keseluruhan hasil set persilangan backcross 2 adalah 44,18%. Penelitian ini diharapkan memperoleh hasil persilangan backcross 1 dengan tetua (Padi Hitam Jeliteng) sehingga dapat dihasilkan benih generasi backcross 2 untuk dilanjutkan pada backcross generasi berikutnya.

Abstract

A healthy lifestyle has become increasingly popular in Indonesia, with people becoming more mindful of their eating habits and the ingredients they consume. One of the healthy foods that has gained popularity is microgreens, such as cauliflower microgreens, which have a soft texture and are rich in nutrients. This study aims to examine the effect of coconut water on the growth and yield of cauliflower microgreens in different growing media. The results of the study show that the application of coconut water significantly affects plant height, leaf number, root length, fresh weight, and germination percentage. Cocopeat proved to be the best growing medium for cauliflower microgreens, although no significant interaction was found between coconut water application and growing media in relation to some other growth parameters. This study also suggests further research on the appropriate dosage of coconut water and testing the nutritional content of cauliflower microgreens.

Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara maritim yang kaya akan hasil lautnya. Hasil-hasil laut pada umumnya digunakan sebagai bahan pangan rumah tangga sebagai lauk pauk, dan dimanfaatkan bagi industri pengolahan ikan. Hasil samping industri pengolahan perikanan umumnya berupa kepala, jeroan, kulit, tulang, sirip, darah dan air bekas produksi. Limbah ikan jarang dimanfaatkan oleh manusia karena pengetahuan masyarakat yang masih kurang tentang pemanfaatan limbah ikan serta belum ada penerapan teknologi dalam pengelolaan limbah ikan. Hal inilah yang menjadi suatu kendala dalam pemanfaatan limbah ikan. Limbah ikan memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk dijadikan sebagai Pupuk Organik Cair (POC). Untuk mengurangi pembuangan limbah ikan, maka dapat di olah menjadi POC. Tujuan diselenggarakannya kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat adalah: melakukan penyuluhan tentang pemanfaatan limbah ikan, pembuatan pupuk organic cair (POC) dari limbah ikan untuk menyuburkan tanaman, meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan tentang cara memanfaatkan limbah ikan rumah tangga. Kegiatan ini meliputi penyuluhan/ sosialisasi, dan pelatihan. Materi yang disampaikan dalam kegiatan ini diupayakan sedemikian rupa agar mudah dipahami dan dimanfaatkan oleh peserta pelatihan. Kegiatan ini meliputi teori dan praktek yaitu, sosialisasi Pupuk Organik Cair (POC), manfaat Pupuk Organik Cair (POC), Pemanfaatan limbah dari ikan, dan praktek pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) berbahan limbah rumah tangga dari ikan. Abstract

Indonesia's main staple food, rice, is by far the largest commodity. In improving food security through the productivity of this local staple crop, care is needed from planting to harvesting. One of the physiological parameters that can determine biomass production and photosynthesis in rice is the leaf. We can measure this part of the plant through various methods ranging from conventional techniques to computer image processing techniques such as canny edge detection and ImageJ software. Through the comparison of these two methods, it is found that canny edge detection has a smaller average error value when compared to ImageJ, which is 3.76% and 4.53% respectively. With this final value, it is proven that canny edge detection can be an alternative technique to measure the value of LAI (Leaf Area Index) in rice plants.Keywords: Canny, ImageJ, Image Processing, Leaf Width, Rice

Abstract

Identifikasi tanaman melon yang tahan terhadap cekaman kekeringan merupakan solusi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman melon pada lahan kering. Tujuan penelitian adalah identifikasi karakter-karakter melon dan menyeleksi toleransi melon terhadap cekaman kekeringan. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok  faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor.  Faktor pertama terdiri dari 10 taraf genotip tanaman melon dan faktor kedua terdiri dari 2 taraf, yaitu Irigasi 100% (100% kapasitas lapang) dan irigasi 50% (50% kapasitas lapang). Penelitian terdiri dari 20 kombinasi perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 3 ulangan sehingga dihasilkan 60 unit percobaan. Tiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 5 tanaman dan pengamatan dilakukan pada 3 tanaman sampel pada setiap unit percobaan. Karakter tanaman yang diamati adalah umur berbunga jantan, umur berbunga betina, umur panen, kadar gula (oBrix), bentuk buah, warna kulit buah, warna buah, net pada kulit buah, panjang buah, diameter buah, tebal daging buah, berat buah, dan produksi per hektar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cekaman kekeringan menurunkan produksi per hektar sebesar 26.36%. Nilai ISK rata-rata menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 genotip yang toleran terhadap cekaman kekeringan dan 7 genotip yang tidak tahan terhadap cekaman kekeringan. Tanaman melon yang direkomendasikan untuk dikembangkan pada lahan kering adalah G2, G3, G5, dan G6.

Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer is a type effectively increases of organic fertilizer that is very effective in increasing plant productivity. This fertilizer is made from organic materials such as animal manure, food scraps, and agricultural waste which are fermented to produce nutrients that are easily absorbed by plants. Therefore, farmers need training and assistance to manufacture and use liquid organic fertilizers that are cheap and easy to make. This community service aims to provide training and assistance to women farmer groups in manufacturing and using liquid organic fertilizer. This activity was carried out in Trowangsan Village, Rt 003/014, Malangjiwan, Colomadu, Karanganyar, Central Java. The Community Service activity will be held on June 24, 2023. This training will include an explanation of the benefits and methods of making liquid organic fertilizer that is easy and cheap, as well as the practice of making liquid organic fertilizer directly by members of farmer women's groups. Based on the observations of the service team, participants took part in the activity enthusiastically. The enthusiasm of the participants can be seen from the participants who actively ask questions and are interested in direct training on the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer. The achievement of the goals and benefits of this service activity can be known through evaluation and monitoring in the form of assistance to participants. Assistance is carried out by monitoring the implementation and application of POC in KWT Guyub Makmur's farming activities.

Abstract

Digitalisasi menjadi salah satu strategi penting dalam meningkatkan daya saing Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Namun, proses penerapannya masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, khususnya pada UMKM di tingkat desa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor penghambat digitalisasi UMKM serta harapan pelaku usaha terhadap penguatan ekosistem digital di Desa Roomo. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap tiga pelaku UMKM, yaitu UMKM WMK, UMKM Silfar, dan UMKM Gorengan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat faktor utama yang menghambat proses digitalisasi UMKM, yaitu keterbatasan infrastruktur jaringan internet, keterbatasan perangkat teknologi, keterbatasan waktu dalam pengelolaan usaha, serta kesulitan dalam pembuatan konten promosi digital. Hambatan-hambatan tersebut saling berkaitan dan memengaruhi tingkat optimalisasi pemanfaatan media digital dalam kegiatan usaha. Selain itu, pelaku UMKM memiliki harapan besar terhadap adanya pendampingan digitalisasi yang berkelanjutan, sosialisasi dan pengarahan rutin, serta dukungan yang lebih nyata dari pemerintah desa dan pihak pendamping UMKM. Sinergi antar pemangku kepentingan serta peningkatan kepercayaan terhadap produk UMKM lokal juga menjadi harapan utama dalam mendorong keberhasilan digitalisasi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa digitalisasi UMKM memerlukan pendekatan yang kontekstual, berkelanjutan, dan berbasis kebutuhan pelaku usaha agar dapat memberikan dampak nyata terhadap pengembangan UMKM.

Abstract

Farmer empowerment through the development of local agricultural commodities is an important strategy to increase farmers’ income and strengthen the independence of farmer groups. This community service activity aimed to enhance the capacity of the Padimas Farmer Group in Sana Tengah Village, Pasean Sub-district, Pamekasan Regency, through the development of local Madura melon as a regional flagship commodity. The program was implemented using a participatory–collaborative approach that actively involved farmers in all stages of the activity, including the identification of local needs and potentials, provision of demonstration plot land, cultivation assistance, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. The melon demonstration plot served as a practical learning medium for farmers in applying cultivation techniques adapted to local agroclimatic conditions. The results showed that the development of the local melon demonstration plot significantly improved farmers’ knowledge and skills in melon cultivation, with a plant survival rate reaching 99%. In addition, this activity supported the establishment of a group-based flagship commodity with promising economic value and market opportunities. Overall, the farmer empowerment program contributed positively to strengthening farmers’ economic independence and has the potential to serve as a model for sustainable horticultural agribusiness development in the Pamekasan region.

Abstract

Sugar apple (Annona squamosa L.) is one of the local fruit commodities with high potential as a source of functional natural ingredients. This study aims to identify the morphological characteristics and profile the phytochemical content of local Sumenep sugar apple fruit as a basis for the development of its bioactivity. Morphological observations were carried out in the Sumenep area, including fruit shape, size, stem circumference, leaf characteristics, and flower parts. Phytochemical analysis was conducted using qualitative tests for tannins and saponins, while tests for flavonoids and alkaloids are planned for the next stage. Observation results showed that local Sumenep sugar apple fruits have morphological variations in the form of ovoid, round, and oblong shapes, influenced by genetic factors and environmental conditions.  Phytochemical tests showed the presence of tannins, indicated by a color change to dark green when using FeCl₃ reagent, as well as the presence of saponins, demonstrated by the formation of stable foam during the shaking test. These findings reinforce the potential of local Sumenep soursop fruit as a candidate source of functional natural compounds, particularly in relation to antioxidant, antimicrobial activities, and other pharmacological benefits. Further studies are needed to analyze other phytochemical contents and evaluate bioactive activities more comprehensively.

Abstract

Vegetables play an important role in human life. Because vegetables are a source of vitamins and minerals that are good for health. The large number of cases of stunting in children today is caused by, among other things, a lack of nutritious food, including vegetables. In general, the people of Colomadu District, Karanganyar Regency do not fully utilize their home gardens. By distributing vegetable seeds to women farmer groups (KWT) in Colomadu District, the Women Farmer Groups can optimize their yard land so as to support the Framework for Supporting Family Food Security. Steps taken in the community service activity "Empowerment of Women Farming Groups (KWT) through the distribution of vegetable seeds in order to support family food security. including: First step, Coordination with the head of the Neighborhood Association (RT), this activity is the first step in community service activities, the purpose of this activity is to ask for permission to carry out community service activities and ask about what the Women's Farmers Group (KWT) needs. in order to support family food security. The second step, namely implementation, this activity is a series of the first step, after a meeting point has been reached for coordination activities, the day for carrying out community service activities is determined.
