Abstract

The Community Health Center (Puskesmas), as the foundation of public health services, requires improved efficiency in medical record management to enhance service quality. The optimal design of medical record maps is a key element in establishing a structured and easily accessible patient information recording system. The main objective of this community service is to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services at Puskesmas Mojolangu through the development of medical record map designs. The methodology employed is internship, where students are actively involved in the development of medical record map designs at Puskesmas Mojolangu. The steps involve user needs analysis, map design development, implementation, and evaluation. Students and Supervisors coordinate and interact with healthcare professionals and administrative staff at the health center to gather constructive input and feedback. The outcome of this community service is the development of more efficient and structured medical record map designs. The new design is expected to improve information accessibility, expedite data retrieval processes, and reduce the risk of errors in recording. The implementation of the new medical record map design is also anticipated to have a positive impact on inter-unit coordination at Puskesmas Mojolangu. The students' contribution as change agents in the development of the medical record system has provided innovative solutions to overcome challenges faced by the health center in managing patient health information. The conclusion drawn from this activity indicates that involving internship students in the development of medical record map designs can be a positive step in enhancing primary healthcare services.

Abstract

The Al-Ikhlas Orphanage, located in Sidorahayu Village, Malang, faces challenges related to low levels of health education and limited awareness of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among the children. These issues stem from restricted resources and inadequate access to relevant health information. This community service program aims to enhance the children’s health knowledge, digital literacy, and awareness of NCDs. The implementation methods include developing educational video content tailored to the children’s level of understanding, conducting training on video creation using the Canva application and promoting healthy lifestyle practices, as well as evaluating the program through satisfaction surveys, interviews, and skill assessments. The targeted outcomes include improved knowledge among orphanage children about NCD prevention, acquisition of basic skills in educational video production, documentation of the activities in video format, and publication of a scientific article in a national journal. The results demonstrate an increase in the children’s understanding of the importance of NCD prevention, enhanced practical skills in producing educational videos using Canva (including template selection, addition of text, images, and audio, as well as video export), and greater motivation and enthusiasm among participants to independently create health-related educational content.

Abstract

Primary health care (PHC) is increasingly required to implement targeted, adaptive, and evidence-based health promotion in line with the growth of digital health technologies. Nevertheless, the utilization of routine medical record data as a foundation for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to support health promotion in PHC remains limited. Key constraints include fragmented information systems, high data processing burdens, and restricted analytic capacity. This study aimed to explore existing practices, barriers, and system development needs related to medical record based CRM to strengthen data-driven health promotion, with particular attention to data integration. A qualitative exploratory study was conducted in 2025 at PHC Wagir, Malang District, Indonesia. Data were obtained through semi-structured in-depth interviews with two key informants: a health promotion officer and a medical record and health information (RMIK) officer. Thematic analysis focused on five domains: current systems, use of data in PHC programs, challenges in data provision and utilization, information system requirements, and expectations for system development. The findings indicate that health promotion data are dispersed across multiple non-integrated applications, leading to double data entry, spreadsheet-based reprocessing, limited filtering, and minimal trend analysis or target segmentation. System instability and limited human resources further constrain analytic use. Informants emphasized the need for an integrated “single window” system featuring automated summaries, flexible filtering, disease trend visualization, multiuser access, and cross program integration. This study advances informatics in public health by proposing a socio technical framework for data-driven CRM implementation in resource limited primary care settings.

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) have become a major global health issue requiring serious attention, a challenge for the global health system, because of factors such as urbanization, lifestyle changes, and population aging have caused increased cases of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disorders worldwide. Clinics play a crucial role in providing health education to the community to increase awareness of NCD prevention. Health service optimization can be achieved through the integration of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, which enable improved patient-provider relationships and more effective access to medical records. This study aims to develop an integrated CRM EMR application model for clinics as a tool for NCD education. The study employed a user-centered design approach with a descriptive research methodology. The research stages consisted of research, requirements, design, and evaluation, conducted through literature reviews, field data collection, and interviews with clinic staff to identify system requirements and user experiences. The design phase produced a database model, relational tables, and a user interface prototype that represent the integration of CRM and EMR systems. The findings indicate that the proposed model has the potential to improve the efficiency of patient data management, facilitate health education, and strengthen interactions between patients and healthcare providers. The main contribution of this research is the provision of technical outputs in the form of a database design and user interface prototype, which can serve as the foundation for further development and implementation of an integrated CRM EMR system in clinics. By embedding the CRM–EMR model within broader e-health strategies and community-based health promotion programs, this research lays the groundwork for a sustainable digital ecosystem that supports preventive healthcare and advances Indonesia’s digital health transformation.

Abstract

Background: Patient satisfaction depends on the quality of service, service waiting time, and the efforts made by officers to fulfill patient desires with the services provided. Waiting time that is too long will cause dissatisfaction with the patient. This study aims to analyze the relationship between waiting time and patient satisfaction in the outpatient registration section of the Polowijen Primary Health Care (PHC).  Methods: This study used an analytic survey with a crosssectional approach. The population in this study were patients during August-October 6,214 people. The sample was calculated using the slovin formula of 100 people. The sampling technique uses quota sampling. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test. The waiting time at the Polowijen PHC registration section was > 10 minutes (not ideal) for 90 respondents (90%) and waiting time ≤ 10 minutes (ideal) for 10 respondents (10%). The level of patient satisfaction as many as 66 respondents (66%) felt very satisfied and 34 respondents (34%) felt satisfied.  Results: There is no relationship between waiting time and patient satisfaction at outpatient registration at the Polowijen PHC (p Value > 0.05).  Conclusion: As conclusion The waiting time obtained by patients > 10 minutes does not affect patient satisfaction. This happens because the Polowijen Health Center is the only health facility of choice for the patient, so waiting times that are not ideal do not affect patient satisfaction.
