Abstract

This study aims to examine and find out the information about deaf response towards the use of Indonesian signal language (BISINDO) and Indonesian Signal Language System (SIBI) on communication. Research method being implemented was quantitative approach in which supported by qualitative data. Subject on this study was 100 respondents of adult and teenagers with hearing impairments (aged 16­50) who live in Indonesia especially at Java and Bali. Data collection technique on this study was questionnaire and interview. Based on data analysis seen from answer categorization of 100 respondents with hearing impairment, less of them are supporting SIBI on communication because of its concept cause difficulties for communicating. Whereas, most of them supporting the use of BISINDO on communication. Thus, it could be concluded that through the questionnaire result and interview of 100 respondent with hearing impairment on teenagers and adult categorization (aged 16­59) in various places, its proven that 91% majority of deaf are using BISINDO for communicate with others.

Abstract

Abstract:. The aim of this research is to determine the classroom teachers’ pedagogical competence on deaf students’ learning in DKI Jakarta. The sample of this research was 30 classroom teachers’ who have at least one deaf student in their classroom. The sampling technique used was purposive random sampling. The data was collected using close and open questionnaire and analized using descriptive quantitative technique. The result shows that classroom teachers’ pedagogical competence on deaf students’ learning is vary ranging from low competent to very high competent and most of the sample (57%) are on the low level of competent. It indicates that the teachers need to attend trainings or seminars on deaf students’ learning to enhance their pedagogical competency.Keyword: Pedagogical competence, deaf students’, inclusive education. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi pedagogik guru kelas dalam pembelajaran peserta didik tunarungu di wilayah DKI Jakarta. Sampel penelitian ini adalah guru kelas yang di kelasnya terdapat peserta didik tunarungu di wilayah DKI Jakarta sebanyak 30 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner tertutup dan terbuka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kompetensi pedagogik guru kelas pada pembelajaran peserta didik tunarungu sangat bervariasi mulai dari kompetensi cukup ke kompetensi sangat baik, dan sampel paling banyak berada pada kompetensi cukup 57%.  Oleh sebab itu, guru kelas perlu mengikuti pelatihan dan seminar-seminar untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik dalam pembelajaran peserta didik tunarungu.Kata Kunci: Kompetensi pedagogik, peserta didik tunarungu, pendidikan inklusif.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to enhance the ability of prospective educators to develop a comprehensive understanding of students with hearing impairments. This study investigates the incorporation of Pancasila principles into a project-based learning framework to meet the educational needs of these students. This study highlights the necessity of providing essential skills and knowledge to prospective teachers to create a conducive classroom environment for students with hearing impairments. This study proposes a unique method to understand and assist students with hearing impairments by integrating Pancasila values into project-based learning. The methodology employed is a mixed methods study to assess the efficacy of this educational approach in enhancing the skills of prospective teachers and the academic achievements of students. The expected outcome is a compilation of principles and tactics that can be utilized by educators to gain a deeper understanding and help children with hearing impairments, thereby fostering collaborative and capacity-building in education.

Abstract

Study to equip future educators with the necessary skills and tactics to proficiently assist children with hearing impairments in educational settings. This study holds significant importance for institutions that provide training for teachers, educators specializing in special needs, and policymakers in the field of education. The focus is on promoting effective communication with students who have hearing impairments, highlighting the significance of utilizing assistive devices such as hearing aids and cochlear implants. Curriculum modifications are crucial to ensuring we can obtain educational resources. The study uses academic literature and practical instances to uncover efficacious approaches that instructors can embrace. The results indicate that by employing suitable strategies, utilizing technology, and making necessary modifications to the curriculum, teachers can improve the educational experience and academic achievement of students with hearing impairments. Teachers must possess the necessary knowledge to properly teach, with a focus on teaching tactics, assistive technologies, and curricular changes.

Abstract

This study examines the obstacles encountered by educators in executing the Pancasila Learner Profile (P5) using project-based learning (PBL) for deaf students at Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) in Indonesia. Through interviews and observations at seven SLB institutions, we identified several substantial barriers, including language and communication obstacles, insufficient technological support, inadequate teacher training, varying educational levels within the classroom, and inconsistent parental and community engagement. The findings indicated that deaf children frequently had restricted vocabulary and language proficiency, which impeded their capacity to comprehend instructions, articulate ideas, and fully participate in the PBL activities central to the P5 framework. The lack of suitable resources intensifies these difficulties, hindering the efficacy of visual aids and assistive equipment crucial for deaf pupils. Teacher preparedness is essential, as numerous educators lack specific training in deaf education methodologies, including competency in sign language and comprehensive communication strategies. This disparity obstructs their capacity to modify curriculum and pedagogical approaches to address the specific requirements of deaf students. Notwithstanding these obstacles, this research underscores the beneficial effects of adaptive teaching strategies, collaborative initiatives among educators, and heightened parental engagement. When educators employed practical, hands-on activities and tailored their methods to students' requirements, there was a significant enhancement in student engagement, social interaction, and skill acquisition. The study reveals that successfully implementing the Pancasila Learner Profile for deaf children requires a comprehensive approach to communication, improved teacher training, sufficient resource allocation, curriculum modifications, and the crucial re-establishment of partnerships with parents and communities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek dalam Profil Pelajar Pancasila terhadap kemandirian dan kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik tunarungu di SLBN 2 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan wawancara semi-terstruktur dan observasi. Data dikumpulkan dari wawancara dengan kepala sekolah, guru, peserta didik tunarungu, dan orang tua, serta observasi kegiatan pembelajaran peserta didik tunarungu. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan PBP dalam P5 meningkatkan kemandirian peserta didik, meskipun masih terdapat peserta didik yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Guru di tingkat SD, SMP, dan SMA menerapkan P5 dengan struktur yang konsisten dan menyesuaikan proyek sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan peserta didik. Kesulitan utama yang dihadapi peserta didik adalah masalah komunikasi bahasa yang menjadi penghalang dalam pemahaman pembelajaran, baik secara verbal maupun bahasa isyarat. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, guru menerapkan pendekatan komunikasi total yang menggabungkan komunikasi verbal dan non-verbal. Pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam P5 sangat bergantung pada partisipasi aktif peserta didik, orang tua, pendidik, dan pihak sekolah. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa optimalisasi kemampuan komunikasi dan bahasa peserta didik tunarungu berpengaruh terhadap pelaksanaan PBP dalam P5, yang pada gilirannya memengaruhi kemandirian dan kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik tunarungu. Penguasaan bahasa yang dimiliki peserta didik tunarungu berdampak signifikan terhadap pemahaman materi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) often experience difficulties in maintaining attention and focus during learning activities. The advancement of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has opened new opportunities to support more adaptive and individualized educational interventions for children with ADHD. This article aims to review recent studies on the utilization of AI-based applications to improve learning focus among children with ADHD. The method employed is a literature review by examining scientific articles obtained from several online databases, including Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and ERIC, within the publication range of 2018 to 2024. Inclusion criteria consist of peer-reviewed articles in English or Indonesian that specifically discuss the use of AI applications to enhance attention in children with ADHD. The findings reveal that AI-powered applications, such as adaptive educational games, digital therapies, and cognitive training systems, hold great potential in improving focus and reducing symptoms of inattention and impulsivity. However, certain limitations, such as technological accessibility, device dependency, and data privacy issues, remain challenges that must be addressed. This review concludes that the integration of AI technology into the learning process of children with ADHD is a promising strategic approach, yet it requires ethical, inclusive, and evidence-based implementation.

Abstract

Semua anak, termasuk anak berkebutuhan khusus seperti tunarungu, berhak atas pendidikan. Namun, pendidikan inklusif masih menghadapi banyak tantangan di Indonesia, terutama dalam hal mendorong guru untuk membantu siswa tunarungu belajar dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi upaya guru untuk mendukung siswa tunarungu yang belajar di sekolah inklusif di Kabupaten Pekalongan. Sebanyak 30 guru dari berbagai sekolah disurvei dan diwawancarai secara menyeluruh dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru sangat puas dengan program pemberdayaan yang mencakup pendekatan maternal reflektif, adaptasi kurikulum, dan pelatihan bahasa isyarat. Metode ini terbukti efektif dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif, meningkatkan kemampuan guru untuk berkomunikasi, dan membantu siswa tunarungu berinteraksi dengan lebih baik. Meskipun demikian, sumber daya yang terbatas dan kebutuhan akan pelatihan terus menerus tetap menjadi masalah besar. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan kolaborasi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan komunitas, serta sumber daya pendidikan visual dan teknologi pendukung yang lebih baik. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat membantu perbaikan sistem pendidikan inklusif di Indonesia, terutama dengan membantu siswa tunarungu berkembang secara akademis dan sosial.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Medalsari Village, Pangkalan District, Karawang Regency, has great potential in social, economic, and cultural aspects that can be developed through community service based on real needs. The mapping identifies two main needs: child development education and strengthening creative economy through MSMEs. This program aims to enhance the capacity of village women in child care and household economic management, while also strengthening village self-reliance. The implementation method uses a participatory approach through stages of observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), training, mentoring and pre-test and post-test evaluation. Activities include parenting education (positive parenting, balanced nutrition, child development stimulation), MSME training (production based on local potential, business management, business legality through NIB, branding and packaging), and product exhibitions. A SWOT analysis was used to map strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as to formulate sustainability strategies. The results show a significant increase in mothers' knowledge regarding child development, creative economic skills, and awareness of business legality. Village MSME products were successfully developed with more attractive branding and packaging, and promoted through local exhibitions. In addition, a need for higher education literacy was identified, particularly information on admission pathways and scholarships, to motivate mothers to encourage their children to pursue university studies. Overall, this community service program contributed to enhancing mothers’ capacity in child-rearing, creative economic empowerment, and awareness of higher education. The synergy of these three focuses is expected to create a holistic and sustainable community empowerment ecosystem in Medalsari Village, oriented toward improving quality of life and village self-reliance. ABSTRAK Desa Medalsari, Kecamatan Pangkalan, Kabupaten Karawang, memiliki potensi besar dalam aspek sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya yang dapat dikembangkan melalui pengabdian masyarakat berbasis kebutuhan riil. Pemetaan mengidentifikasi dua kebutuhan utama: edukasi tumbuh kembang anak dan penguatan ekonomi kreatif berbasis UMKM. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas ibu-ibu desa dalam pengasuhan anak dan pengelolaan ekonomi rumah tangga, sekaligus memperkuat kemandirian desa. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dengan tahapan observasi, wawancara, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), pelatihan, pendampingan, serta evaluasi pre-test dan post-test. Kegiatan meliputi edukasi parenting (pola asuh positif, gizi seimbang, stimulasi perkembangan anak), pelatihan UMKM (produksi berbasis potensi lokal, manajemen usaha, legalitas usaha melalui NIB, serta branding dan pengemasan), hingga pameran produk. Analisis SWOT digunakan untuk memetakan kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman, sekaligus merumuskan strategi keberlanjutan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan ibu-ibu mengenai tumbuh kembang anak, keterampilan ekonomi kreatif, serta kesadaran pentingnya legalitas usaha. Produk UMKM desa berhasil dikembangkan dengan merek dan kemasan lebih menarik serta dipromosikan melalui pameran lokal. Selain itu, teridentifikasi kebutuhan literasi pendidikan tinggi, terutama informasi jalur masuk dan beasiswa, untuk memotivasi ibu-ibu mendorong anak melanjutkan studi ke perguruan tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, program pengabdian ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan kapasitas ibu-ibu dalam pengasuhan anak, pemberdayaan ekonomi kreatif, serta kesadaran pendidikan tinggi. Sinergi ketiga fokus tersebut diharapkan mampu membentuk ekosistem pemberdayaan masyarakat Desa Medalsari yang holistik, berkelanjutan, dan berorientasi pada peningkatan kualitas hidup serta kemandirian desa.
