Abstract

The Kusumadewi Women's Farmer's Group is experiencing the problem of high production costs to increase the growth and yield of its cultivated plants due to the high cost of chemical fertilizers. This causes the profit obtained to be incompatible with the production costs of group cultivation. The group also complained that they did not understand how to process their household organic waste, causing environmental pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to provide an alternative for processing household organic waste into organic fertilizer that is cheap, easy to make, and at the same time can overcome household organic waste that can pollute the environment. Organic fertilizers have the benefit of increasing the nutrient content needed by plants, increasing plant productivity, and stimulating root, stem, and leaf growth. Organic fertilizers have benefits, loosening and fertilizing the soil. The Kusumadewi Women Farmers Group will be given counseling about the benefits of household organic waste and organic fertilizer, how to process organic waste into organic fertilizer, and how to apply it to cultivated plants. Based on the results of the activity, 70% of partners understand and can independently process organic waste as organic fertilizer, partners can reduce production costs by 25%, partners can reduce organic waste that causes environmental pollution by 80%, partners can increase crop production by 25% so that increase group profits.

Abstract

His community service activity was carried out for the young farmer group at Agro Learning Center in Peguyangan Kangin Village, North Denpasar District, Denpasar City. This activity aims to increase the young farmers' knowledge about making fermented feed based on vegetable waste for nativee chickens. A nativee chicken is a type of local chicken widely cultivated in Indonesia. By utilizing vegetable waste which is commonly found, the breeder can produce chicken feed. Service activities are carried out by practicing making fermented feed with vegetable waste with the help of an EM4 fermenter, molasses and other feed ingredients. After fermentation, the fermented feed will be directly given to nativee chickens from the age of 3 weeks. After the post-test was carried out, it was seen that this activity could increase the training participants' knowledge about fermenting feed of vegetable waste.

Abstract

Integrated agricultural system is a management system (business) that combines agricultural components, such as plants, animals and fish in a unified whole. In addition to meeting the criteria for sustainable agricultural development, this system has a significant positive impact because it is organically based and developed/directed based on local potential (local resources). Warmadewa University offered a solution to the concept of integrated agricultural conservation starting from livestock and fisheries activities to post-harvest processing and encourage an entrepreneurial spirit in the younger generation. The engineering provided was an efficient technology resulting from research from professional agricultural experts that has been published in various journals. Among them are the development of organic cultivation and diversification using the SNT (System Nutrient Tank) method for exclusive vegetables, super local breed chicken farming in accordance with national poultry standards, fisheries with the concept of aquaponics (hydroponic system and poly culture system) and post-harvest processing of agricultural, livestock and fishery products, with the concept of food processing supporting local wisdom, all of which were integrated and with the concept of zero waste. The method used in this activity were delivering material, training, practice and mentoring to young people who are members of the partner, DUDI Tamiang Bali Mandiri Foundation in the Agro Learning Center (ALC) group. These youth were given integrated agricultural knowledge as well as fisheries and animal husbandry and the processing of agricultural products with the concept of "zero waste" based on Tri Hita Karana (Balinese local wisdom). There were 5 activities in this program. The output of Unwar's Matching Fund activities with the Industrial World was a young generation who are competent and have competency certificates from the Professional Certification Institute through the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) for 8 people, and integrated agricultural training certificates for 25 people, so they are ready to be independent or work competent in agriculture. Other outputs were Activity Books and Standard Operation Procedure Books, IPRs, Modules, Product Launches, News in the Bali Post Newspaper, Product Exhibitions, Video activities, each targeted at one achievement target.

Abstract

Wanagiri Village is a village located in Sukasada SubSubdistrict, Buleleng Regency. Most of the people's livelihoods are farmers, ranchers, and coffee processors, which have the potential to be developed. From the main output of coffee, a complete feed will be made that utilizes coffee waste as feed for the PE goats that are widely raised there. In addition, the partners lacked knowledge in the field of feed, especially utilizing coffee waste as feed by mixing it with superior forage available there, both grass and legumes. Therefore, the right ratio formulation technique can be given to FE goats. Solutions made to solve problems faced by partners in making complete feed for goats. The method that will be used is the farmer's active participation extension method and explorative.

Abstract

Coconut is one of the superior products produced in Segah Hamlet, Asahduren Village, Jembrana Regency, Bali. The PM-UPUD program aims to strengthen the development of farmer groups and MSMEs to strengthen agriculture-based community empowerment and livestock. Its operational methods include research, consultation, direct practice, monitoring, and evaluation. The farmer group of PM-UPUD partners is the Kusuma Farmer Women Group based in Segah Hamlet. The challenges faced by the partners include the production of traditional vegetable oil and the management of coconut pomace. Through PM-UPUD activities, farmer groups are equipped with the capacity and skills to produce oil waste and process coconut pulp into animal feed and processed food in an integrated and comprehensive manner. Farmers can create better quality tandusan oil and process coconut pulp into animal feed and processed food. PM-UPUD activities can increase income and improve the welfare of the community, especially members of coconut producer groups.

Abstract

The need for animal protein originating from native chickens is increasing over time. One of the obstacles that farmers often face in raising broiler chickens is the cost of feed. That feed costs are 60-70% of total production costs. Japanese papaya leaves are one of the substitute feeds that can be given to native chickens. However, Japanese papaya leaves must be fermented first. The nutritional content of Japanese papaya leaves in 100 grams, namely: water 85 ml, protein 5.7 grams, iron 11.4 mg, phosphorus 39 mg, calcium 199 mg, potassium 217 mg, vitamin C 165 mg, flavonoids (23.72 %) alkaloids (17.45%), saponins (12.49%) and tannins (5.72%). This research was carried out in two stages, namely in the field and the laboratory, using a completely randomised design with five treatments and three replications, each containing five chickens. The five treatments are Ration, adding 0%,6%,12%,18% and 24% fermented papaya leaf flour. After harvest, chemical analysis of native chicken meat will be conducted at the Basic Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Warmadewa University. Adding fermented Japanese papaya leaf flour to native chicken feed does not affect the meat quality of native chickens. However, it tends to increase the protein content of the meat even though statistically, it has no significant effect. Using the fermentation method, utilising agricultural waste can improve the quality of feed ingredients.

Abstract

Balinese pigs are one of the livestock commodities that the community has raised. However, their maintenance is still carried out traditionally by utilizing makeshift feed ingredients in the vicinity, so the appearance of Balinese pigs is not optimal with indicators, and their growth is still below the NRC standard. With simple maintenance, the weight gain of local pigs can only be achieved 180-260 gr/head/day, which is still below the NRC standard of 500-750 gr/head/day. Therefore, efforts must be made to increase weight gain by improving feed quality through fermentation. This study aims to improve the performance of local Balinese pigs by treating feed with various fermentation times from surrounding materials such as banana stems, forage, and complete feed mixtures (rice bran, fine corn, and concentrates). This study used a complete randomized design with fermented feed treatment with variations in fermentation time, namely feed without fermentation (F0), feed fermented for 14 days (F1), and feed fermented for 28 days (F2). Each treatment used 3 Balinese/local pigs of 2-3 months old weaning age with a weight range of 10-12 kg. The banana stem and lamtoro leaf-based feedstuffs fermented for 28 days showed significant results or the best on the performance of Balinese pigs.
