Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of problem-based learning in enhancing critical thinking skills in Natural and Social Sciences. It utilized a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest randomized control groups. Data analysis involved t-tests to determine group differences and N-gain to measure improvement. Results showed significant enhancement in critical thinking abilities with problem-based learning. The t-test indicated a significant difference between groups, with t count (5.949) exceeding the t table value (2.018) and p-value (0.000) below 0.05. N-Gain scores showed a higher improvement in the experimental group (48.65%) compared to the control (29.46%). These findings highlight the effectiveness of problem-based learning in fostering critical thinking.

Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the teaching and learning process for students. The learning process that was initially carried out face-to-face is now replaced by other methods. Various innovations were carried out by teachers to convey thematic dissemination of the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this research is to describe thematic learning innovations in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The informants consisted of the principal, homeroom teacher, and students. Data collection techniques by means of interviews, observations, and documentation. This study uses triangulation techniques and source triangulation in testing the validity of data. The data analysis technique uses Creswells theory. Based on the results of the research, it can be seen that thematic learning innovations in this pandemic era are carried out in various ways, namely: (1) Using the SCI (Smart, Creative, Innovative) Online Media application, whose innovation is in the form of creating various question types and High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) levels, (2) Zoom Meet innovation is the delivery of various learning methods, conducting virtual group discussions, evaluation in the form of quizzes, (3) YouTube innovation in the form of a video with a background in the form of Microsoft PowerPoint, which contains material and uses comments on YouTube as attendance. (4) the use of Microsoft PowerPoint; the innovation is in the form of creating summary modules from thematic learning materials. Online learning using these innovations can effectively deliver thematic learning materials in distance learning.

Abstract

Sektor kuliner merupakan salah satu bidang usaha yang memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung perekonomian lokal, termasuk usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM). Salah satu tantangan utama yang dihadapi UMKM kuliner adalah keterbatasan pada aspek pengemasan produk dan pemasaran digital, yang berdampak pada rendahnya daya saing dan jangkauan pasar. Usaha Wonton Sik AE di Kota Madiun merupakan UMKM kuliner berbasis akulturasi Chinese food dan Indonesian food yang menghadapi permasalahan serupa, khususnya terkait kemasan produk yang kurang menarik dan pemasaran yang masih terbatas. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengemasan dan optimalisasi pemasaran digital Wonton Sik AE melalui kegiatan pendampingan dan pelatihan. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara bertahap meliputi sosialisasi dan persiapan, penyiapan modul pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan pengemasan dan pemasaran digital, serta evaluasi dan monitoring. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kualitas kemasan produk dengan identitas merek yang lebih jelas serta peningkatan kemampuan mitra dalam memanfaatkan media sosial sebagai sarana pemasaran. Pemanfaatan berbagai platform digital berdampak pada perluasan jangkauan pasar dan peningkatan visibilitas produk. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam memperkuat daya saing UMKM kuliner serta mendorong keberlanjutan usaha berbasis pengemasan dan pemasaran digital.
