Abstract

One of eastern Indonesia's top places for producing high-quality coffee, particularly Arabica coffee, is Gowa Regency. Ground coffee's chemical composition is significantly influenced by the post-harvest and coffee harvesting procedures used to produce it. The Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-3542-2004 compares a range of values about ground coffee that can be used to evaluate the coffee's quality. This study's goals are to determine which arabica coffee varieties have chemical attributes that are in line with (SNI) 01-3542-2004 and to look into the chemical makeup of ground arabica coffee from the Gowa Regency's linie-S and sigararutan kinds. The Sigararutan and linie-S types of arabica coffee beans, both from the Tinggimoncong District, were utilized in the study. In the research investigation, a non-factorial fully randomized design (CRD) was used in three replications. Chemical analysis examines the composition of coffee extract, moisture, ash, and caffeine. The results showed that powdered arabica coffee of the Linie-S variety differed considerably from powdered arabica coffee of the Sigararutan type in terms of water content, ash content, and caffeine content. The amounts of coffee extract in the two samples, however, were not substantially different from one another. The water, ash, caffeine, and coffee essence contents of the Linie-S and Sigararutan varieties of powdered arabica coffee satisfy the requirements outlined in (SNI) 01-3542-2004 for ground coffee.

Abstract

Kemarau Panjang dan intensitas curah hujan yang tinggi menyebabkan pembudidaya  mengalami penurunan produksi sehingga pendapatan pembudidaya menurun dan pembudidaya mengalami kesulitan memenuhi kebutuhan rumah tangganya. Cara mengatasi faktor pembatas ini, yaitu diversifikasi usaha. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan aset penghidupan dan usaha diversifikasi apa yang dilakukan rumah tangga pembudidaya rumput laut di Kelurahan Lembang.Teknik penentuan informan dengan metode Purposive Sampling, dengan jumlah 10 orang pembudidaya rumput laut. Teknik analisis data yaitu secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aset pengehidupan (1) modal manusia yaitu tingkat Pendidikan yang rendah dengan rata-rata lulusan SD mempengaruhi kurangnya pengetahun pembudidaya, namun dengan pengalaman cukup tinggi yaitu 10-20 tahun. dapat menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam diversifikasi usaha. (2) Modal Finansial memanfaatkan pendapatan atau tabungan dari hasil budidaya rumput laut beserta usaha lainya dan pinjaman dari pedagang pengumpul. (3) Modal fisik pembudidaya yaitu perahu, kendaraan, rumah pribadi, dan peralatan pertanian. Diversifikasi sumber pendapatan yang dipilih oleh rumah tangga pembudidaya rumput laut di Kelurahan Lembang anatara lain sebagai petani sakap, buruh bangunan, tukang kayu, dan istri dan anak juga berkotribusi besar dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan rumah tangganya dengan bekerja sebagai tukang jahit, pembibit rumput laut, dan karyawan toko.

Abstract

Climate change is a natural phenomenon that poses a risk of vulnerability in the sustainability of seaweed cultivation because it can reduce production and income. Therefore, a sustainability strategy is needed, as well as the role of social capital, which is the most important element in carrying out cultivation because it is a means to build communication and cooperation in overcoming obstacles from climate change. Social capital is an element that supports internal and external factors. The study's objectives are: (1). The role of social capital in the sustainability of seaweed cultivation (2)—the existence of a sustainability strategy in dealing with climate change. Therefore, the study was conducted by taking the location of the seaweed center in South Sulawesi in Laikang Village, Manggarabombang District, Takalar Regency, by taking 20 informants from the seaweed farming community, extension workers, village government, and the Fisheries and Marine Service. It was done by conducting observation actions and in-depth interviews with the FGD (forum discussion group) mechanism and documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and qualitatively using a Likert scale. The sustainability strategy was compiled with a SWOT analysis by including internal and external factors in the seaweed business involving the farming community and supporting institutions. The study results showed that social capital was built to improve communication and strengthen networks (bonding and bridging). It was based on the norm of getting out of the shocks that arise in seaweed cultivation due to climate change. The strategy that can be applied from the SWOT analysis, namely the existence of partnerships that must be built so that seaweed businesses can be sustainable in facing shocks from climate change by involving local governments, educational research institutions, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, seaweed farmers, with strengthening financial institutions and markets.

Abstract

Beef cattle farming is important in providing food, especially animal protein, and supporting the community economy. This study illustrates how this livestock business can quickly breakeven point (BEP), cover costs, and start making a profit. The uniqueness of this study lies in the specific analysis of costs, revenues, and income, as well as the calculation of BEP, which can be used as a guideline for more efficient business management. This study aims to analyze the BEP of the beef cattle business in the Boliyohuto District. The sample used was 89 beef cattle farmers using a quantitative approach. Data was collected through observation, interview, and documentation, followed by quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the average total cost incurred was IDR 11,418,410, and revenue was IDR. 19,814,935, income was IDR. 8,396,525. In addition, the breakeven point (BEP) in quantity is 0.576, and the rupiah value is IDR. 5,709,205. The beef cattle business in the Boliyohuto Subdistrict provides economic benefits because the production and unit price is greater than the breakeven point value, so the business is up-and-coming. This research is very relevant in the context of community economic empowerment because the beef cattle sector has the potential to be a stable source of income, support food security, and create jobs. In addition, the results of this study can be the basis for developing policies and programs that support the sustainability of livestock businesses in rural areas, as well as optimizing the profitability of livestock businesses in the long term.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya upaya untuk memperpanjang umur simpan dari komoditas hasil pertanian agar dapat dikonsumsi dalam jangka waktu yang lebih lama dan membantu mengurangi sampah rumah tangga. Edukasi food preparation (persiapan bahan pangan) penting untuk dilakukan untuk membantu kelompok rumah tangga, dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pokoknya secara efektif dan efisien sesuai dengan kondisi new normal selama pandemi Covid-19 yang menganjurkan untuk lebih banyak melakukan kegiatan di rumah saja. Menjaga ketahanan pangan dapat dimulai dari tingkat rumah tangga dengan menerapkan food preparation. Tahapan sosialiasasi kegiatan ini dimulai pada bulan Mei 2021, dan pelaksanaan edukasi pada tanggal 17 Juli 2021. Pelaksanaan kegiatan edukasi food preparation bagi kelompok rumah tangga di Kelurahan Bontomanai Kecamatan Bontomarannu Kabupaten Gowa, terbagi menjadi beberapa tahapan: (1) sosialisasi kegiatan, (2) pelaksanaan kegiatan edukasi, (3) pendampingan dan pelatihan persiapan bahan pangan untuk food preparation, dan (4) monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu edukasi dalam bentuk pendidikan dan pelatihan (ceramah, penayangan video dan demonstrasi). Pembagian food container masing-masing 20 pcs juga dilakukan agar kelompok rumah tangga di Kelurahan Bontomanai dapat langsung mempraktekkan pelaksanaan food preparation ketika pulang ke rumah masing-masing. Pendampingan setelah kegiatan pendidikan dan pelatihan merupakan kegiatan lanjutan untuk memantau apakah materi yang diberikan dapat diterapkan oleh mitra sasaran dengan baik. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu mitra kelompok rumah tangga sudah memahami dan melakukan food preparation secara mandiri.

Abstract

Latar belakang pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yakni tingginya produksi tomat buah ketika panen raya namun tidak diiringi dengan kualitas dan kuantitas yang memadai untuk pemasaran. Tingginya susut pasca panen pada tomat buah yang dihasilkan memberi andil dalam banyaknya kerugian yang dialami petani. Selain itu, saluran pemasaran yang panjang juga menyebabkan harga di tingkat petani berapa pada nilai yang paling rendah. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini secara umum yaitu memberikan pelatihan bagi petani yang ada di Desa Bontotangga Kecamatan Bontolempangan Kabupaten Gowa mengenai pentingnya pengemasan (packaging) dan pelabelan (labeling) serta pemasaran online tomat buah untuk mengurangi susut pasca panen dan membantu petani mendapatkan harga yang stabil karena dapat memasarkan secara langsung kepada konsumen dengan kaulitas yang lebih baik. Metode pada kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu berupa penyuluhan dan pelatihan dalam bentuk ceramah serta demonstrasi. Kegiatan diawali dengan pemberian materi mengenai pentingnya melaksanakan sortasi dan grading sesuai Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) 01-3162-1992 mengenai tomat buah. Materi ini menjadi dasar dalam pelaksanaan packaging dan labeling tomat buah sebelum pemasaran secara online. Hasil akhir kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yakni petani yang telah memahami dan mampu melaksanakan secara mandiri metode packaging, labeling dan pemasaran online tomat buah.

Abstract

Gender provides a conceptual reference for social relations between men and women and the differences in function and role of both. Bontotangnga Village, Bontolempangan District, Gowa Regency, is one of the centers of large tomato producers. The division of roles based on gender is still carried out because of the influence of social and cultural aspects that are very strong in the area. This study aims to determine the division of roles and decision-making based on gender in tomato farming activities. The main sample consisted of 18 farmer households with tomato farming businesses. The sampling method was purposeful sampling. Data collection used open and direct questionnaires. The primary and secondary data obtained were then analyzed qualitatively. The role of gender in managing tomato farming in Bontotangnga Village, Bontolempangan District, Gowa Regency, is dominated by the farmer's husband in every series of farming activities. This shows gender inequality due to the imbalance in the division of roles in tomato farming activities. Gender equality has begun to be applied to decision-making in managing farming businesses. Demonstrated by openness, exchanging suggestions and opinions between husband and wife farmers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor produksi dan kelayakan usahatani kubis di Desa Perangian Kecamatan Baraka Kabupaten Enrekang.Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 239 orang, dengan teknik penentuan sampel mengunakan Simple Random Sampling yang diambil sebanyak 15% sehingga populasi yang diperolaeh sebanyak 36 orang. Analisis data yang digunakan regresi linear berganda dan R/C (Ratio).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefisien determinan (R²) sebesar 0,932 , untuk uji-f menunjukkan bahwa luas lahan, benih, pupuk, pestisida dan tenaga kerja berpengaruh nyata secara bersama-sama terhadap produksi kubis di Desa Perangian, sedangkan uji-t, yang berpengaruh nyata yaitu  luas lahan, sebaliknya benih, pupuk, pestisida dan tenaga kerja tidak berpengaruh nyata karena nilai signifikan lebih besar dari 0,05 terhadap produksi Kubis, dan kelayakan usahatani kubis di Desa Perangaian adalah sebesar 3,08.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui margin pemasaran komoditas bawang merah di Kelurahan Tomenawa Kecamatan Baraka Kabupaten Enrekang. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu 187 orang petani dan penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan mengambil 15% dari total populasi, sehingga jumlah sampel yang digunakan yaitu sebanyak 28 orang petani bawang merah. Metode penentuan sampel menggunakan metode acak sederhana (simpel random sampling), serta pengambilan sampel sebanyak 7 orang pada lembaga pemasaran menggunakan metode bola salju (snowball sampling). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 3 saluran pemasaran komoditas bawang merah di Kelurahan Tomenawa Kecamatan Baraka Kabupaten Enrekang dengan nilai margin pemasaran yaitu : (1) petani – pedagang pengecer – konsumen (dengan nilai margin Rp. 3.500/kg); (2) petani – pedagang besar – konsumen (dengan nilai margin Rp. 8.000/kg); dan (3) petani – pedagang besar – konsumen (dengan nilai margin Rp. 8.500/kg). Kata Kunci : bawang merah, saluran pemasaran, efisiensi pemasaran

Abstract

Coconut plants are one of the plants that are very useful in rural economic life, one of which is in Bababulo Village, Majene Regency. All parts of the coconut tree can be used to meet human needs. This study aims to determine the process of making coconut into processed coconut oil or virgin coconut oil (VCO) and to determine the income of the Anjoro Tuo business group. The informant in this study is the Anjoro Tuo business group. The analytical tool used is descriptive qualitative. The Qualitative Method is a descriptive research, by collecting data through observation and conducting direct interviews and taking documentation. The results showed that VCO processing was carried out by the community in Bababulo Village, Majene Regency, namely the coconut milk fermentation method which started by removing the coconut fiber, splitting the coconut, gouging out the coconut meat, cleaning the coconut meat, the grating process, the squeezing process, the coconut milk fermentation, the cooking process, and the packaging. . The total income value of the Anjoro Tuo Business group in Bababulo Village, Majene Regency from the sale of VCO is Rp. 31.140,000/month. Keywords : superior product, business group, vco, income
