Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of young farmer regeneration, MSME incubation, and supply chain systems on the sustainability of agricultural MSMEs in East Java. Using a quantitative approach, 140 respondents were surveyed with a Likert scale (1–5), and the data were processed with Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The results show that all three variables positively and significantly affect sustainability, with young farmer regeneration being the most influential factor, followed by supply chain systems and MSME incubation. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.430) indicates that 43% of sustainability can be explained by the model, while the predictive relevance (Q² = 0.415) demonstrates strong predictive validity. These findings suggest that sustainability of agricultural MSMEs requires generational renewal, robust supply chain systems, and incubation support to enhance competitiveness and long-term resilience. This study contributes to the literature by integrating human resource regeneration, institutional incubation, and supply chain perspectives as drivers of MSME sustainability in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable food production has led to a growing interest in the utilization of agricultural wastes as alternative raw materials in the fermentation industry. This systematic literature review examines the potential of agricultural by-products, such as fruit peels, vegetable scraps, and cereal residues, as substrates for fermented food production. By analyzing a wide range of studies, this review identifies the types of agricultural wastes successfully used, the fermentation processes involved, and the benefits derived from these practices, including waste reduction, cost savings, and nutritional enhancement. The review also highlights the challenges associated with the variability in waste composition, logistical constraints, and consumer acceptance. The findings suggest that the utilization of agricultural wastes in fermented food production not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also offers economic and nutritional benefits. However, further research is needed to optimize fermentation processes, assess economic feasibility, and enhance consumer acceptance. This review provides valuable insights for researchers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers interested in promoting sustainable food production practices.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of environmental management and sustainability practices on the destination image and tourist revisit intentions at tourism destinations in Bandung City. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 160 tourists using a Likert scale survey. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was utilized for data analysis. The findings reveal that both environmental management and sustainability practices positively influence destination image, which in turn significantly affects tourists' intentions to revisit. Notably, sustainability practices have a stronger impact on both destination image and revisit intentions compared to environmental management alone. These results underscore the importance of integrating comprehensive sustainability strategies into tourism planning to enhance destination competitiveness and attract environmentally conscious tourists. The study provides practical insights for tourism managers and policymakers aiming to foster sustainable tourism growth in Bandung City.
