Abstract

The aim of this study was to obtain in-depth information about the participation of women farmers in agricultural production in the village of Gebangangkrik. Women in the village of Gebangangkrik go to work in the fields to help their husbands, from land preparation to post harvest process. Fees earned by women is lower than for men. They work with a rotation system or alternately between families or between neighbors that do not receive fees or spend big except for breakfast. There are many women farmers who worked to pay the debt, because when the bad season come, they had to borrow rice to other people who had more extensive rice fields with the assurance will voluntarily to help work in the fields when the next planting season. However, women farmers access to information in the field of agriculture is still very limited, so it seems that the girls were just as workers.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to investigate and examine the effects of improved road access on the economy of residents of Pahing Hamlet, Sukadana Village, and Kuningan Regency. Research methodology: The research method used was qualitative, involving data collection through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation . Results: The findings indicate that improved access to the through-road in Sukadana Village significantly enhanced the economic condition of the Pahing Hamlet community. Enhanced road access enables farmers and local traders to reach markets and potential customers more easily, thereby improving accessibility and mobility of goods. This positively affects local income, business growth, and community economic empowerment. Limitations: Although improved road access yields tangible benefits, some limitations of this study should be acknowledged. First, this research is limited to Pahing Hamlet in Sukadana Village; thus, generalizing the results should be approached with caution. Second, the study does not thoroughly examine other factors such as supporting infrastructure and government policies, which also affect community economic improvement. Contribution:  This study contributes to a better understanding of the potential advantages of village economic empowerment in rural development and identifies strategies that can be implemented in other rural areas. It recommends that governments and development organizations prioritize supporting village economic empowerment initiatives and collaborate closely with local communities to overcome the challenges and obstacles to implementation.

Abstract

The agricultural sector can have the ability to produce a surplus, this happens when productivity is increased so that it produces higher farmer income. The increase in the standard of living is obtained by increasing food products either through intensification, extensification and diversification of agriculture which is expected to improve the standard of living of farmers, expand employment opportunities for groups of people who still depend on the agricultural sector. The purpose of this study was to analyze production costs on the income of rice farmers in Bagetango Hamlet, Lopok District, Sumbawa. Quantitative research methods were used in this study, through multiple linear regression tests, production costs in this study include land area, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and labor, with the help of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), based on the objectives to be achieved, this study uses the income of rice farmers in Bagetango Hamlet, can be achieved with the average production of each respondent then multiplied by the selling price of production to obtain total income. The results of the study showed that the influence of production costs on farmer income is very significant. If production costs are too high without being balanced with adequate results or good prices, farmer income will decrease. Therefore, to increase income, farmers need to manage production costs wisely, utilize technology, and monitor changes in market prices.
