Abstract

This research was aimed to answer the question of research namely What were the learning needs of the students in the English Speaking Program at Pondok Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Al-Hudzaifiyyah? To answer the research question, a survey research was employed. The instruments of the research were questionnaires and interview guidelines. The data were explained in the description form. The participants of the research were 20 students at Pondok Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Al-Hudzaifiyyah Kolaka as the respondents for the questionnaire, and five students were chosen as the respondents for the interview. The result showed that they needed to speak English in religious context, but the problem was that their speaking skills were still weak. Secondly, learning need of the students in learning English were materials that provided vocabularies related to Islamic studies, conversation exercises regarding religious activities, and English grammar which is suitable with their speaking level.

Abstract

Pembelajaran numerasi dan literasi merupakan aspek penting dalam pendidikan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam matematika. Salah satu implementasi kegiatan numerasi dilakukan pada program Kampus Mengajar di SD Negeri 1 Puuroda. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini meliputi jaritmatika, pohon numerasi, mading numerasi, pembiasaan mengingat perkalian, dan pembuatan media pembelajaran numerasi. Hasil dari implementasi ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan berhitung siswa dan minat mereka terhadap matematika. Pengabdian ini memberikan gambaran yang jelas tentang efektivitas metode-metode pembelajaran numerasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan yang inovatif dan interaktif, siswa dapat lebih mudah memahami konsep-konsep matematika dan mengembangkan keterampilan berhitung mereka. Selain itu, metode-metode tersebut juga mampu meningkatkan minat siswa terhadap matematika, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan efektif. Hasil pengabdian ini memberikan kontribusi yang berharga dalam pengembangan pendidikan matematika di tingkat dasar. Dengan menerapkan metode-metode pembelajaran numerasi yang efektif, sekolah dapat membantu siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berhitung mereka sejak dini. Hal ini akan memberikan pondasi yang kuat bagi kemampuan matematika siswa di masa depan dan membantu mereka dalam menghadapi tantangan matematika yang lebih kompleks. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran numerasi dan literasi memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan matematika. Melalui implementasi metode-metode pembelajaran yang inovatif dan interaktif, siswa dapat lebih mudah menguasai konsep-konsep matematika dan meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung mereka. Dengan demikian, pendidikan matematika dapat menjadi lebih efektif dan menyenangkan bagi siswa, sehingga mereka dapat mencapai potensi maksimal dalam bidang ini.

Abstract

This study was initiated in response to the challenges faced by students who are not accustomed to practicing English speaking due to a lack of self-confidence and heightened anxiety when communicating with others or with native speakers. To address these issues, the study explores the potential of Virtual Reality (VR) technology to foster the development of students’ English communication skills within an autonomous, interactive, and engaging environment. Such an environment is expected to increase students’ learning motivation while simultaneously improving the overall quality of instruction. The primary aim of this research is to contribute to the body of knowledge by developing a prototype of a digital platform termed Metaversity, defined as a virtual learning environment that integrates the immersive features of the Metaverse ecosystem with the pedagogical foundations of Digital Game-Based Learning (DGBL). The participants of the study consisted of 30 undergraduate students from Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study adopted the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The resulting learning media integrates VR, DGBL, and communication platforms such as VRChat and Discord into a cohesive system. Validation by media experts yielded an average score of 4.35 out of 5, which falls into the “highly feasible” category. Meanwhile, students’ responses reached an average of 82.5%, placing the product within the “good–very good” range. The findings provide compelling evidence that the developed medium is effective in enhancing students’ motivation, self-confidence, and English-speaking competence. Furthermore, the integration of VR and DGBL fosters active engagement, alleviates language anxiety, and creates an immersive and enjoyable learning experience. These outcomes highlight the potential of Metaversity-based platforms as innovative solutions in higher education language learning contexts.

Abstract

The growing demand for lifelong learning and professional development has increased the significance of e-learning in adult education. Traditional learning models often fail to accommodate the diverse needs of adult learners, who require flexible, accessible, and self-paced learning opportunities. E-learning has emerged as a critical tool in addressing these challenges by offering digital platforms that enhance knowledge acquisition, skill development, and career advancement. This study aims to examine the role of e-learning in supporting adult education by evaluating its impact on engagement, learning effectiveness, and accessibility. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining survey data from adult learners, performance analysis from e-learning platforms, and instructor interviews. Findings indicate that e-learning enhances learner autonomy, facilitates personalized learning experiences, and improves accessibility for individuals with work or family commitments. Statistical analysis revealed a strong correlation between e-learning engagement and knowledge retention, while qualitative data emphasized the importance of interactive content and real-time feedback. The study concludes that e-learning serves as a valuable complement to traditional adult education, providing flexible and inclusive learning solutions. Future research should explore the long-term impact of e-learning on adult career progression and strategies to further enhance digital learning experiences.
