Abstract

Sister city cooperation based on common historical and cultural ties between Tanjungpinang, Indonesia and Johor Bahru, Malaysia provides a strategic opportunity to enhance socio-cultural interaction and encourage tourism. This research aims to find opportunities for sister city collaboration and the types of activities that are included in the scope of cooperation between the two cities. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach by collecting various data, including official government documents, local demographic statistics, socio cultural characteristics, economic situation, development plans, and public and government views regarding social and development activities. To analyze the phenomena that occur, the theory of liberalism is used which states that a country can achieve political and economic goals through cooperation and promoting individual freedom and social justice. The results of this study indicate that the collaboration can be an effective platform for the exchange of knowledge, practices and resources between the two cities, and can also expand the network of partners involved in inclusive education. The study concluded that there are still several challenges such as limited resources, lack of public awareness and understanding, and structural barriers that can affect the effectiveness of implementing this collaborative effort. Thus, an active and collaborative role is needed from state and non-state actors to achieve sustainable economic and tourism goals.

Abstract

Kekerasan seksual terhadap anak merupakan isu serius yang masih marak terjadi di lingkungan pendidikan, termasuk di Indonesia. Dampaknya mencakup kerusakan fisik, mental, dan sosial anak, serta menghambat tumbuh kembang mereka. Di SMP Desa Numbing, kurangnya pemahaman dan sosialisasi terkait perlindungan anak menjadi hambatan utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai kekerasan seksual melalui kegiatan sosialisasi dan edukasi hukum. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan interaktif dua arah, meliputi koordinasi, pra-survei, pemaparan materi, pembagian buku saku, diskusi studi kasus, dan evaluasi melalui kuisioner online. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa SMP Desa Numbing terhadap kekerasan seksual. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 10–11 Juni 2024 dan diikuti oleh 46 siswa kelas VII dan VIII. Pra-survei menunjukkan bahwa 58,7% siswa menganggap sentuhan tanpa izin dapat dibenarkan jika hanya bercanda. Setelah pemaparan materi oleh dosen hukum pidana dan sesi diskusi, evaluasi pasca-kegiatan menunjukkan perubahan persepsi signifikan. Siswa menyadari bahwa tindakan tersebut merupakan bentuk kekerasan seksual. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai pencegahan dan konsekuensi hukum kekerasan seksual terhadap anak. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini ialah meningkatnya pemahaman siswa SMP Desa Numbing terhadap kekerasan seksual setelah sosialisasi. Harapannya, pengetahuan yang diperoleh dapat berkontribusi dalam upaya pencegahan serta meminimalkan risiko terjadinya kekerasan seksual di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

This article examines the legal liability of e-commerce platforms for selling counterfeit trademark products in Indonesia. The problem focuses on the extent of responsibility e-commerce platforms hold under Indonesian trademark law, particularly Law Number 20 of 2016 on Marks and Geographical Indications and Law Number 28 of 2014 on Copyrights. A statutory approach is used as a theoretical reference to approach this problem. The data is collected by qualitatively analyzing relevant legislation and policies. The study results show that the Trademark Law in Indonesia has not regulated the sale of products using counterfeit brands in e-commerce. The Copyright Law in Indonesia only regulates that the manager of a trading place can be held accountable if a sale of products violates copyright. In contrast, the Trademark Law does not restrict this. So that confusion arises: can the organizer of an electronic system in online buying and selling be held civilly liable if their e-commerce site provides products using counterfeit brands.

Abstract

Perlindungan anak adalah segala usaha agar setiap anak dapat mewujudkan hak dan tanggung jawabnya terhadap tumbuh kembang anak, baik secara alamiah, jasmani, rohani, dan sosial. Dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian dengan model siklus deming yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yakni perencaraan, melakukan, pemeriksaan dan tindak lanjut. Diagram tersebut menunjukkan hasil pemahaman siswa SMP Numbing setelah menerima pemaparan materi terkait bullying. Berdasarkan diagram tersebut, mayoritas siswa, yaitu 66%, setuju bahwa mereka mengerti bullying dapat berupa fisik, verbal, dan sosial. Sebanyak 26% siswa sangat setuju dengan pernyataan tersebut, sementara 8% sisanya menyatakan tidak setuju. Ini menunjukkan bahwa setelah menerima materi, sebagian besar siswa mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan terkait bentuk-bentuk bullying, dan menunjukkan pemahaman yang cukup baik. Pengabdian perlindungan anak terhadap tindak pidana bullying dilaksanakan agar siswa-siswa di SMP Numbing mendapatkan pengetahuan dan bimbingan terkait segala jenis bullying, sehingga mereka dapat mencegah dan meminimalisir tindakan bullying yang kerap terjadi dilingkungan sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil dari kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pemaparan, menunjukan bahwa siswa-siswa tersebut mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

Purpose: There is a problem that occurred in Natuna Regency where a ship experienced engine damage, causing the ship to come to a halt in the middle of the sea and leaving passengers stranded at sea for an extended period. This situation can be hazardous and poses a risk to maritime safety. During disasters such as ship sinking, grounding, or fires, the risk to passenger safety increases. The high demand for facilities and infrastructure in passenger transportation should be a top priority. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the captain's responsibility for passenger safety to prevent any negligence on the part of the skipper. Methodology/approach: The Normative-Empirical Law research method involves understanding law in terms of norms (rules) and the application of legal rules in actual behavior resulting from the enforcement of legal norms. The captain is required to adhere to all applicable rules and regu lations to ensure the ship's navigability, safety of the vessel, passenger safety, and cargo. The skipper is not permitted to embark on a journey unless the ship is adequately equipped and prepared, as referred to in Article 343 of the Criminal Code. Results/findings: Regarding the implementation of the captain's responsibility for ship damage during passenger transportation within the Natuna Regency area, the captain pays more attention to the operational conditions of the ship to avoid issues related to ship damage. Additionally, the sub-district head of Midai is advised to be more selective in transferring responsibility to the skipper of the KM Fisabilillah 1 ship.
