Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh ketertarikan peneliti terhadap etnomatematika pada Kapal Ijon-Ijon di Lamongan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa kata-kata atau gambar yang diperoleh langsung dari lapangan, tanpa berfokus pada angka, dan sesuai dengan kondisi alami (natural setting). Data dan fakta yang ditemukan dianalisis serta disajikan agar mudah dipahami oleh pembaca. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Proses analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa etnomatematika pada bagian penyimpanan ikan di kapal ini, jika dihubungkan dengan konsep matematika, mencakup pola barisan aritmatika dan bentuk persegi dalam geometri

Abstract

The development of STEM-based mathematics learning modules that are systematically arranged using the PBL (Problem-Based Learning) model is one way to train students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). This study aims to describe the process, validity, and practicality of the developed mathematics learning module and determine the students' higher-order thinking skills after using the mathematics learning module using the development research type. This STEM-based mathematics learning module with the PBL model was developed referring to the ADDIE development model, which consists of 5 stages, namely: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The math learning module focuses on statistical material on the size of data concentration given to class VIII students at UPT SMPN 9 Gresik, as many as 31 students. Implementation begins with analyzing the results of instrument validation by validators, then analyzing student response questionnaires filled out by students after using the learning module and through higher-order thinking skills tests. Based on the results of the development process, it can be concluded that students still have difficulty working on higher-order thinking skills at the initial stage, namely the analysis stage. Designing and making modules are carried out at the design stage and development stages. At the implementation stage, the module was tested and declared feasible by the validator. The last stage is the evaluation stage, namely analyzing the data that has been obtained. The results of the validation of this math learning module are in the very valid category, with an average total validity (RTV) value of 4.16 by the three validators. The math learning module was also declared practical in theory with an average score of B, with the provision that it could be used with minor revisions. Practically, it gets an average score of 77.64% in the category of higher-order thinking skills, 19 students in the very good category, 7 students in the good category, and 5 students in the moderate category. Thus, The STEM-based mathematics learning module using the PBL model could been said to be well used to improve students’ mathematical understanding and higher-order thinking.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan pantun matematika guna mempertajam keterampilan literasi mahasiswa melalui service learning. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pengembangan dengan tujuh tahapan. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua mahasiswa pendidikan matematika dan 19 siswa SMP Ma’arif Surabaya. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, lembar validasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengembangan pantun matematika melalui tahap pengidentifikasian potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, dan uji coba pemakaian. Selain itu, kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan pantun matematika juga dideskripsikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi etnomatematika pada Kolam Segaran, sebuah situs budaya peninggalan Kerajaan Majapahit, dengan tujuan memahami nilai-nilai matematis yang terkandung dalam desainnya serta mengintegrasikannya ke dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis budaya. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi digunakan untuk menggali keterkaitan antara konsep geometri, aljabar, dan pengukuran yang terimplementasi dalam struktur Kolam Segaran. Data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi dengan informan yang memiliki pemahaman mendalam tentang budaya Majapahit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kolam Segaran memuat konsep matematika seperti bangun datar, bangun ruang, luas permukaan, volume bangun ruang, simetri, dan rasio, yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengajarkan prinsip-prinsip geometri dan aljabar dalam konteks yang relevan. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap matematika tetapi juga mendorong apresiasi terhadap warisan budaya lokal. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan kurikulum berbasis budaya, menjadikan Kolam Segaran sebagai model pembelajaran yang inovatif dan aplikatif untuk menghubungkan pendidikan matematika dengan kekayaan budaya Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran Wordwall dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep statistika di kalangan siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Wordwall sebagai media interaktif mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, motivasi belajar, serta daya nalar dalam memahami materi statistika, khususnya konsep pengolahan dan penyajian data. Wordwall juga terbukti mendukung pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis siswa (student-centered learning) dengan memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menyenangkan dan adaptif terhadap era digital. Namun demikian, terdapat beberapa keterbatasan seperti ketergantungan terhadap koneksi internet, kesiapan guru dalam menyusun konten digital, dan waktu persiapan yang relatif panjang. Secara keseluruhan, Wordwall direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang inovatif untuk mendukung pembelajaran matematika di sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) with a Joyful Learning approach assisted by Wordwall media in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes at grade VII of MTs Negeri 1 Lamongan. This research employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest model. The sample consisted of 24 students from class VII-I selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a mathematics achievement test administered before and after the treatment. Data was analyzed using normality test, Paired Sample t-Test, and N-Gain calculation. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, as shown by the t-test significance value of 0.001 (<0.05) and an N-Gain score of 0.7855 categorized as high. These findings demonstrate that the application of the NHT model with Joyful Learning assisted by Wordwall media is effective in enhancing students’ learning outcomes. The implication suggests that combining NHT, joyful classroom atmosphere, and interactive digital media can serve as an innovative alternative strategy in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This research aims to describe ethnomathematics at Pasar Keramat, Pacet. This research includes qualitative research. The data collection techniques used in this research were interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman method, which consists of several stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data obtained is in the form of interviews, documentation and observations. Then the data is classified and simplified to focus on relevant elements. The reduced data is presented in a table containing the type of activity, documentation, mathematical concepts used, and activity descriptions. The research results show that mathematical concepts are used in buying and selling activities at Keramat Market, Pacet. The mathematical concepts used are the concept of counting in money exchange activities, the concept of profit and arithmetic operations such as: addition, subtraction and multiplication in pricing activities and buying and selling transactions, and the concept of sets in packaging activities.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of students’ computational thinking abilities in solving statistical problems by examining the differences between convergent and divergent thinking patterns. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving six eleventh-grade students selected as subjects based on thinking pattern classifications, consisting of three students with a convergent tendency and three with a divergent tendency. The data collection instruments included student activity observation sheets and written tests. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which comprises three main stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The analysis focused on four core components of computational thinking: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. The findings revealed that students with divergent thinking patterns were more active, flexible, and creative, particularly in identifying patterns, exploring multiple strategies, and constructing innovative solutions. In contrast, students with convergent thinking patterns demonstrated greater strength in systematically organizing information and applying procedures accurately, but were less thorough in exploring alternative strategies and providing broader interpretations of the analyzed data.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT) on students’ mathematics learning outcomes in a boarding school environment. The study was motivated by the low motivation and participation of students in mathematics learning, which tends to be monotonous. This research employed a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The participants were 32 seventh-grade students of SMPN 3 Peterongan. A mathematics learning achievement test (pretest and posttest) was used to measure students’ learning improvement after the implementation of the TGT model. Data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov and Shapiro–Wilk normality tests and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. The findings revealed that the average pretest score of 65.63 increased to 90.00 on the posttest. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank test produced a Z value of 4.990 with a p-value < 0.001, indicating a highly significant difference between students’ learning outcomes before and after the treatment. These results demonstrate that the TGT cooperative learning model is effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Moreover, the model fosters an engaging and interactive learning atmosphere and encourages active student participation. This study is expected to serve as a reference for teachers to apply more varied and innovative learning strategies to enhance students’ motivation and achievement.
