Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is no longer a health issue limited to adults but increasingly affects adolescents. Its asymptomatic nature makes it difficult to detect early, while lifestyle factors such as poor diet, lack of physical activity, and stress significantly increase the risk. Early intervention through school-based programs is crucial to increase awareness and prevention. Objective: The purpose of this service was to provide promotive and preventive efforts against hypertension in adolescents at SMK Suryalaya, Tasikmalaya, by increasing their knowledge, awareness, and healthy lifestyle practices through health screening, education, and counseling Method: This public service was conducted by lecturers and students of Universitas Bakti Tunas Husada in collaboration with SMK Suryalaya. The program consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Screening included measurement of blood pressure, pulse, body mass index (BMI), and fitness tests. Health education was delivered through interactive lectures and discussions, while personal counseling was provided for students identified with health risks. Result: The activity involved 58 students (34 from grade X and 24 from grade XI). Screening results revealed 9.1% hypertension, 34.8% hypotension, and 13.6% obesity, indicating significant cardiovascular risks. Health education improved students’ knowledge with an average score increase from 60 (pre-test) to 82 (post-test), a gain of 36.7%, shifting most students from “moderate” to “high” knowledge categories. Personalized counseling for at-risk students enhanced their understanding and commitment to adopting healthier habits. Conclusion: This program demonstrated that integrating screening, education, and counseling effectively improved adolescent health awareness and promoted preventive behaviors. Early detection and health promotion in schools are essential strategies to reduce long-term cardiovascular risks. The program can serve as a replicable model for adolescent health promotion in other educational institutions.

Abstract

Kecemasan merupakan salah satu permasalahan kesehatan mental yang sering dialami remaja dan dapat berdampak negatif terhadap konsentrasi belajar serta kesejahteraan psikologis. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan terapi Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) sebagai upaya pengelolaan kecemasan pada siswa SMAN 8 Tasikmalaya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama satu hari dengan melibatkan 30 siswa kelas X melalui sesi edukasi kesehatan mental dan praktik langsung terapi SEFT secara berkelompok. Tingkat kecemasan siswa diukur menggunakan instrumen Skrining Dini Kecemasan Sederhana (SDKS) yang terdiri dari 10 item pertanyaan. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori kecemasan sedang hingga tinggi (69,9%). Selama pelaksanaan terapi SEFT, secara observasional terlihat adanya penurunan ketegangan fisik, pernapasan yang lebih teratur, serta perubahan emosi menjadi lebih tenang dan nyaman. Siswa juga melaporkan berkurangnya rasa khawatir berlebihan dan meningkatnya kepercayaan diri dalam menghadapi aktivitas belajar. Implementasi SEFT terbukti mudah dipelajari, dapat dilakukan secara mandiri, serta memberikan efek relaksasi langsung. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa terapi SEFT berpotensi menjadi intervensi promotif dan preventif kesehatan mental berbasis sekolah yang sederhana, ekonomis, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Remaja merupakan kelompok usia yang rentan terhadap munculnya faktor risiko Penyakit Tidak Menular (PTM) akibat perubahan gaya hidup, seperti pola makan tidak seimbang dan rendahnya aktivitas fisik. Upaya deteksi dini melalui skrining kesehatan berbasis sekolah menjadi penting untuk mencegah dampak jangka panjang terhadap kesehatan kardiovaskuler dan status gizi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memetakan profil kesehatan remaja melalui program BEAT-SCREEN (Blood, Body-mass, & Tension Screening) di SMAN 8 Tasikmalaya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 23 Januari 2026 dengan melibatkan 120 siswa dalam edukasi kesehatan, serta pemeriksaan kesehatan komprehensif pada 37 siswa yang meliputi pengukuran tekanan darah, indeks massa tubuh, dan kadar hemoglobin. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki tekanan darah normal (48,65%) dan status gizi normal (62,16%), namun masih ditemukan siswa dengan prehipertensi dan hipertensi sebesar 40,54%, serta status gizi berlebih (overweight dan obesitas) sebesar 27,03%. Selain itu, sebanyak 24,32% siswa teridentifikasi mengalami anemia. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya potensi masalah kesehatan remaja yang memerlukan perhatian dan intervensi dini. Kegiatan BEAT-SCREEN terbukti efektif sebagai pendekatan promotif dan preventif melalui integrasi skrining, edukasi, dan konseling kesehatan. Diperlukan keberlanjutan program dan kolaborasi dengan pihak sekolah untuk memperkuat upaya pencegahan PTM dan peningkatan derajat kesehatan remaja.

Abstract

Proses menstruasi mengakibatkan perubahan fisiologis yang sementara memengaruhi aktivitas jantung dan tekanan darah, aspek ini sering diabaikan dalam evaluasi risiko kardiovaskular. Fokus kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kepada para siswi mengenai pentingnya gaya hidup sehat selama menstruasi guna mencegah gangguan kardiovaskular. Edukasi ini diperlukan karena kesehatan remaja selama menstruasi berkaitan dengan kesehatan jantung di masa depan. Metode penyuluhan digunakan dengan hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan siswi setelah kegiatan edukasi. Hasil menunjukkan perubahan positif dalam pemahaman siswa tentang pentingnya gaya hidup sehat. Edukasi melalui media Power Point, leaflet, dan video efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan siswi. Program ini membantu siswa menerapkan gaya hidup sehat yang diharapkan berkelanjutan hingga dewasa.

Abstract

Efforts to improve public health status can be achieved through health education and regular health screenings. Common health issues in the community, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and eye health disorders, are often influenced by low levels of knowledge and poor healthy lifestyle practices. This community service program aimed to enhance public knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding the prevention of hypertension and diabetes mellitus, as well as maintaining eye health. The program was conducted in RT 04/RW 08 Bantargedang, Kersanegara Village, Tasikmalaya, involving 40 respondents. The intervention methods included health counseling using leaflets and posters, along with basic health screenings consisting of blood pressure measurement, random blood glucose (RBG) tests, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment, and eye health screenings. Evaluation was performed using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. There was a significant increase in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors following the counseling. The average knowledge score increased from 73.18 to 87.05; the attitude score rose from 79.25 to 92.13; and the behavior score improved from 71.25 to 90.88. Health education and screenings proved to be effective in increasing public awareness and capacity to adopt a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (CHL/PHBS).

Abstract

A cesarean section is a surgical procedure performed to deliver a baby through an incision in the abdomen and uterine wall. The prevalence of cesarean sections continues to rise both in Indonesia and worldwide. However, postoperative incisional wounds after cesarean delivery lead to various risks that can hinder the healing process. One nursing intervention that can help speed up wound healing is early mobilization. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between early mobilization and wound healing in post-cesarean section patients. A descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was used in this study. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling, with a total of 178 participants. Statistical analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The results showed a significant association between early mobilization and wound healing (p = 0.025), indicating that patients with inadequate early mobilization had a 2.17 times greater risk of poor wound healing (OR = 2.17). Early mobilization was proven to speed up wound healing after cesarean section. Therefore, nurses should ensure and support early mobilization in post-cesarean section patients.
