Abstract

This article discusses the political challenges facing Indonesia in the post-reform democratic era. The main focus is on issues such as corruption, political polarization, the role of social media in shaping public opinion, and social movements. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, where data is obtained from various literature sources and case studies. The results show that corruption remains a systemic problem that hinders the development of democracy, while political polarization exacerbated by social media creates social tensions. Social media plays a dual role as a platform for political participation as well as the spread of disinformation. In addition, social movements show that civil society has significant power in influencing government policy. This article seeks to provide a comprehensive picture of Indonesia's current political dynamics and emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts to overcome these challenges in order to strengthen democracy in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize public services through the digitization of administration at the Tamalanrea Subdistrict Office using the ABC (Action-Based Collaboration) approach, which consists of three stages: needs assessment, digital system development, and community empowerment. This method was chosen to ensure that the resulting solutions are evidence-based, participatory, and sustainable. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with subdistrict officials and the community, field observations, and document analysis to identify challenges in the manual administrative system. The research results show that the implementation of the digital system was able to increase service efficiency by 72%, reduce document processing time from 5-7 days to 1-2 working days, and increase the Community Satisfaction Index (CSI) from 65 to 86. Additionally, digitalization successfully curbed illegal fees and improved transparency through real-time tracking features. Intensive training for village officials increased digital competencies by 75%, while community outreach encouraged 89% of users to adopt the application. However, the study also identified challenges such as resistance from some senior staff and limited internet connectivity in certain areas. Overall, this research demonstrates that a collaborative approach to administrative digitalization not only accelerates service processes but also strengthens accountability and inclusivity. These findings provide policy recommendations for local governments to expand digital transformation at the village level, taking into account infrastructure and human resource capacity.

Abstract

The ability to write scientific papers is an essential competency for students in supporting academic achievement and readiness to face the world of work and research. However, many students still experience difficulties in compiling scientific papers, especially in the aspects of writing systematics, the use of academic language, and reference management. In response to this problem, the service team carried out a Scientific Writing Preparation Training for PASIM National University students as a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the aspect of community service. The training method uses an andragogy approach through interactive lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice. The activity was attended by around 50 students across study programs. The training material includes an introduction to scientific papers, writing rules, topic determination techniques, reference search and management, and outline preparation. Evaluation was carried out through observation, assessment of written products, and satisfaction questionnaires. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding by 30–40% based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test. All participants succeeded in compiling an outline of scientific papers, and the majority expressed satisfaction with the training. This activity has proven to be effective in improving students' scientific writing skills and fostering academic motivation and culture. It is recommended that similar training be carried out on an ongoing basis with intensive mentoring to support the improvement of the quality of human resources and contribution to student scientific publications.

Abstract

The development of popular culture within contemporary Muslim societies has generated new forms of religious expression that are increasingly intertwined with the creative industry and digital media. One prominent phenomenon is modest fashion, which is no longer confined to ethical or ritual religious functions but has evolved into a medium for representing identity, lifestyle, and visual piety. This article aims to analyze how modest fashion functions as an arena of negotiation between piety, Islamic identity, and the logic of popular culture within the context of Indonesian Muslim society. This study employs a literature-based approach by integrating perspectives from cultural studies and theories of the commodification of religion. The analysis draws on academic literature, media articles, and studies related to the Muslim fashion industry and religious practices in digital spaces, using discourse analysis as the primary analytical method. The findings indicate that modest fashion embodies an inherently ambivalent dynamic. On the one hand, it creates space for the articulation of an adaptive, reflective, and contextual Islamic identity, while simultaneously contributing to the economic and cultural empowerment of Muslim women. On the other hand, processes of commodification and mediatisation risk reducing piety to a visual and consumptive practice governed by market logic and digital popularity. Modest fashion, therefore, cannot be understood reductively either as a mere degradation of religious values or solely as a form of cultural progress. Rather, it constitutes a dialectical arena in which piety, identity, and consumption are continuously negotiated within the landscape of contemporary Muslim popular culture.

Abstract

Empowering women to occupy leadership positions is necessary because women have equal rights and opportunities as men to participate in development and governance, including in strategic positions. The government has established various policies and programs aimed at achieving gender equality and justice. However, in practice, these policies have not been fully implemented optimally. This condition is reflected in the low representation of women in leadership positions compared to men. Various efforts have been made to encourage the empowerment of female civil servants, one of which is by providing equal opportunities for women to occupy positions that were previously dominated by men. However, in percentage terms, the number of women in leadership positions is still relatively low. Therefore, women strive to improve their capacity through education and knowledge development, both formally and informally. In addition to improving their competence, women also strive to create a conducive, supportive work environment and develop their potential in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Active participation in meetings and decision-making processes is an important part of these empowerment efforts. On the other hand, women are still faced with the dual roles of being workers and household managers, which often causes them to feel overwhelmed.
