Researchers offer a solution to overcome problems with the motivation to study. The methodology used is descriptive quantitative research. The subject of the study was a student of the Buddhist Religious Education study program with 107 students. The sample in the study was 84 people. Data collection techniques in this study include using interviews and quisionary. The study used multiple linear regression analysis with a 5% error rate. The value of r square or R²=0.471=47.1% indicates that variables of student learning motivation can be explained by the performance variables of lecturers and organizational culture together at 47.1%. In other words, the performance variable of lecturers and organizational culture affects student learning motivation by 47.1%, and the remaining 52.9% are influenced by other factors not included in this research model. While R = 0.686, meaning lecturer performance variable, organizational culture has a solid relationship to learning motivation. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that 1) there is a simultaneous influence between the performance of lecturers and organizational culture on learning motivation. 2) This shows that the more positive the lecturer's performance and the higher the organizational culture, the more motivation for students to learn in higher education institutions.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of technology-based learning on the learning motivation of students at Buddha Dharma Jaya Sunday School. The issues faced by children at the Sunday school include a lack of active participation in the monastery, insufficient motivation or encouragement from parents to engage in monastery activities, and a lack of concentration in learning. This research employs a survey method involving 48 respondents who are children from Buddha Dharma Jaya Sunday School at Jina Marga Dipa Vihara in 2024. The results of the data analysis indicate that the learning motivation variable is categorized as high. Through simple linear regression analysis, it was found that technology-based learning has a positive effect on the learning motivation of Sunday school children. These findings suggest that the integration of technology in the learning process can enhance student engagement and motivation, which in turn can contribute to better learning outcomes. This study provides important insights for educators and monastery administrators in designing more effective and engaging learning strategies for children.

Abstract

Writing skills are a fundamental component of academic and professional success, enabling effective communication, critical thinking, and knowledge construction. Despite their significance, many students, particularly those learning English as a second or foreign language, face challenges in developing proficient writing abilities. These difficulties are often compounded by individual differences, including personality traits such as introversion and extroversion. While previous studies have explored various pedagogical approaches to enhance writing skills, limited research has focused on how these methods interact with students’ personality types, especially within the context of higher education. This study aims to investigate how a deep learning approach, a pedagogy emphasizing meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning supports and enhances the writing performance of extroverted students compared to introverted ones. The research was conducted with 23 second-semester students from the Buddhist Communication Science Department at Jinarakkhita Buddhist College in Lampung, Indonesia. A mixed-method design was employed, combining pre- and post-writing tests scored using Heaton’s rubric with interviews and personality assessments based on the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. The findings revealed that the most participants were extroverts, and they demonstrated a significant improvement in overall writing ability after the intervention, particularly in organization and content development. Paired samples t-tests confirmed statistically significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores, indicating the effectiveness of the deep learning strategy for extroverted learners. These results suggest that personality-informed instructional strategies can optimize writing instruction, especially for extroverted students who benefit from interactive and collaborative learning environments. The study contributes to the growing body of research on personalized pedagogy and highlights the importance of aligning teaching methods with students’ psychological profiles to maximize learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how local factors through a Buddhist approach influence the practice of religious moderation in the village of Rajabasa Lama, Labuhan Ratu District, East Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. The primary focus of this research is on the role of Buddhists in internalizing and implementing the four main pillars of religious moderation, namely commitment to nationalism, tolerance, anti-violence, and appreciation of local culture in the life of the village community. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data collection techniques involve participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. According to Colaizzi, the research procedure refers to the seven stages of phenomenology, while informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data are analyzed through pattern matching, explanation making, and time series analysis. The research results show that Buddhist communities in the village of Rajabasa Lama have successfully implemented religious moderation by integrating the values of the Hasta Arya Marga teachings in Buddhism and the principles of multiculturalism in social life. National commitment, a sense of tolerance, anti-violence, and appreciation for their local culture are reflected in inclusive attitudes, active tolerance, and participation in interfaith activities without creating exclusive boundaries. This moderation process is formed through the practice of wisdom, morality, and concentration expressed in peaceful, ethical, and dialogical social discourse, thus strengthening a harmonious collective identity.

Abstract

Borobudur Temple, Relief Borobudur is a Buddhist temple in Central Java, Indonesia, recognized as one of the most important world heritage sites. The temple is famous for its magnificent architecture and richly meaningful reliefs. Borobudur is not only a place of worship, but also a spiritual symbol of Buddhism and the path to enlightenment. The temple structure consists of ten levels, reflecting the three realms of Buddhism: Kamadhatu (the realm of lust), Rupadhatu (the realm of form), and ARupadhatu (the realm of formlessness). The reliefs on the temples reflect Buddhism and the life of the people in the past, including hunting stories and traditional arts. The Karmawibhanga, Jataka-Awadana, and Gandawyuha reliefs tell about moral teachings and the law of karma, which emphasizes the principle of cause and effect in human life. The temple acts as a means of information about the past, presenting a picture of social and cultural life. After being rediscovered by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles in the 19th century, Borobudur has undergone repeated restoration to ensure its preservation. In 1991, UNESCO designated the place as a World Heritage Site. Apart from being an extraordinary work of art, Borobudur also teaches about morality, concentration, and wisdom, making it a spiritual place that blends art and philosophy.Borobudur, Kamadhatu, Rupadhatu, ARupadhatu.
