Abstract

Sapi potong merupakan salah satu ternak yang diproduksi di kota Pekanbaru khususnya di Rumah Potong Hewan kecamatan Tampan kota Pekanbaru. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi berkembangnya usaha peternakan di Rumah Potong Hewan ini. Salah satunya diakibatkan karena menurunnya permintaan sapi potong, masyarakat lebih memilih untuk membeli daging kota atau daging beku yang lebih murah dan praktis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal serta strategi pengembangan usaha peternakan sapi potong di Rumah Potong Hewan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian terdapat 8 strategi yang dapat mengembangkan usaha peternakan sapi potong di Rumah Potong Hewan tersebut. Strategi utama yang dapat diterapkan untuk usaha peternakan sapi potong ini kedepannya berdasarkan analisis diagram SWOT adalah strategi SO yaitu, Meningkatkan peralatan semi modern dalam kemajuan teknologi dan Meningkatkan kemampuan dan pengetahuan SDM dalam teknologi pemotongan ternak. Pada diagram SWOT menunjukkan bahwa Usaha Peternakan Sapi Potong di Rumah Potong Hewan Kecamatan Tampan Kota Pekanbaru terletak pada kuadran II dengan kondisi memiliki kekuatan utama untuk menghadapi lingkungan yang tidak menguntungkan.

Abstract

The community service activities with the theme about socializing use of fruit and vegetable waste as an alternative to botanical pesticides (eco-enzyme) on apprentice students at UPT UIRA Agrofarm UIR. The aim of this activity is to introduce and increase understanding apprentice students about the benefits of fruit waste as vegetable pesticides (eco-enzymes). This activity was carried out at UPT UIRA Agrofarm UIR, Teropong street, Pekanbaru, Riau Province, in a face-to-face event delivering material related to theory and techniques application of eco-enzymes. The lecturer team provides material according to their respective fields of knowledge and expertise. The implementation date is July 2023. The activity was attended by apprentice students from several schools including SMKN Integrated Agriculture Riau Province, SMKN 1 Rimba Melintang, SMKN 2 Rambah, and SMKN 1 Batang Gangsal Pertanian. Service activities that have been carried out and well received by apprentice students at UPT UIRA Agrofarm. Activity participants understood the material and practices that had been delivered with a percentage of 21.9% is really understood; understand 59.4%; and quite understand 18.8%. Then, regarding the usefulness of this service activity for participants, it was categorized as very useful (65.6%); useful (31.3%) and quite useful (3.1%).

Abstract

Purpose - This community service activity aims to socialize Smart Farming as a new concept in agriculture by integrating technology as an innovation. Smart Farming makes it easy for farmers to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural products through technology. The technology used in this activity is IoT (Internet of Things), a mushroom media sprayer that can be controlled automatically and adjusted to the required temperature. Design/methodology/approach – The methodology used in this community service activity is mentoring and outreach. This activity is a training that concerns two activity themes, namely mentoring the installation of IoT on mushroom media and socializing the business management of oyster mushroom products. Assistance activities will be carried out by technology experts who will guide partners in assembling IoT circuits. In comparison, the socialization that will be carried out will involve resource persons who are experts in agribusiness and will provide debriefing on the management of oyster mushroom input supplies. Findings – Community service activities for Tiramu oyster mushroom partners that are carried out obtain the results of activities that bring significant benefits to partners. The benefit obtained from this activity is an automatic sprayer technology that can be adjusted to the room temperature conditions of the oyster mushroom required by the oyster mushroom. Partners' skills and knowledge also increase with socialization activities that equip partners with knowledge in improving the quality and quantity of oyster mushroom products produced. From some of the things mentioned above, community service activities with results in a series of IoT and partner skills can be said to have enormous benefits for Tiramu oyster mushroom partners. Originality/value – The implications of community service activities produce smart farming technology tools and the ability of Tiramu oyster mushroom partners to improve product quality and quantity.

Abstract

Orchids are valued ornamental plants that offer significant aesthetic appeal. They can be cultivated as a viable source of income for farmers. However, successful care and maintenance of orchids require specialized skills. Improper cultivation techniques can lead to plant death, negatively impacting farmers' earnings. This research aims to analyze two key aspects: 1. The application of production factors and cultivation technology, and 2. The farming dynamics, including production costs, output, income, and efficiency at the Deni Erianto Qanita Orchid Nursery for Dendrobium orchid plants. The study was conducted at the Qanita Orchid Nursery in Kulim District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, using a survey method over a six-month period from July to December 2023. The respondents included one entrepreneur and three employees, selected through a census sampling technique. The research utilized both primary and secondary data, which were then analyzed both descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively. Findings indicate that the production factors for orchid cultivation encompass 1 hectare of land, 1,000 seedlings, 4,200 ml of QC Gen 2 fertilizer, 800 ml of QC HD, and 1,400 ml of QC Gen 3. Additionally, 1,000 ml of Samite pesticide is utilized each month, along with 40 liters of Pertalite gasoline. The technology employed in orchid cultivation involves several stages, including land preparation, plant propagation, selection of growing media, planting, maintenance, pest management, and harvesting. The analysis of farming costs revealed a total expenditure of Rp. 25,799.72 per hectare per month. The overall production is 150 sticks per month, priced at IDR 250,000 per stick, resulting in a gross income of Rp. 37,500,000 per hectare per month, and a net income of Rp. 11,700,928 per hectare per month. The Return Cost Ratio (RCR) for orchid farming is determined to be 1.45.

Abstract

Aktivitas rantai pasok dapat mempengaruhi kuantitas dan kualitas cabai merah. Perubahan cabai merah yang cukup cepat memerlukan pelaku rantai pasok yang terlibat dan waktu pendistribusian yang efektif, agar pada saat sampai ke konsumen cabai merah masih dalam kondisi yang segar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis mekanisme rantai pasok dan efisiensi rantai pasok cabai merah. Metode yang digunakan adalah adalah survei. Lokasi penelitian di Desa Kepau Jaya Kecamatan Siak Hulu Kabupaten Kampar. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama enam bulan dari Januari – Juni 2023. Responden petani dan pedagang pengumpul diambil secara sensus dengan jumlah sebanyak 24 petani dan 2 orang pedagang pengumpul, pedagang pengecer dan konsumen diambil secara sengaja (purposive) masing – masing sebanyak 2 orang. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mekanisme aliran rantai pasok cabai merah terdiri dari aliran barang yang dimulai petani cabai merah ke pedagang pengumpul, selanjutnya dialirkan ke pedagang pengecer kemudia ke konsumen. Aliran informasi terjadi secara timbal balik antar setiap pelaku rantai pasok. Aliran keuangan mengalir dari konsumen ke pedagang pengecer, lalu pedagang pengumpul dan terakhir ke petani cabai merah. Biaya distribusi cabai merah sebesar Rp.1.672,22/kg margin distribusi sebesar Rp.23.000/kg, farmer’s share sebesar 52,08% dan efisiensi distribusi 3,48%. Supply chain activities can affect the quantity and quality of red chilies. A fairly fast change in red chilies requires involved supply chain actors and effective distribution times, so that when they reach consumers the red chilies are still in fresh condition. This research aims to analyze the supply chain mechanism and efficiency of the red chili supply chain. The method used is a survey. The research location is Kepau Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The research was carried out for six months from January - June 2023. Respondents from farmers and collecting traders were taken by census with a total of 24 farmers and 2 collecting traders, retailers and consumers were taken purposively (2 people each). The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The research results show that the red chili supply chain flow mechanism consists of the flow of goods starting from red chili farmers to collecting traders, then flowing to retailers and then to consumers. The flow of information occurs reciprocally between each supply chain actor. Financial flows flow from consumers to retailers, then collectors and finally to red chili farmers. Red chili distribution costs are IDR 1,672.22/kg, distribution margin is IDR 23,000/kg, farmer's share is 52.08% and distribution efficiency is 3.48%.

Abstract

Pengolahan buah nanas yang melimpah saat musim panen belum mampu meningkatkan penghasilan masyarakat karena harga jualnya sangat rendah. Solusi dari masalah ini adalah membuat produk olahan nanas yang tidak hanya mengatasi rendahnya harga jual, tetapi juga bisa menjadi ikon kelurahan untuk menarik wisatawan lokal maupun internasional serta mendukung ketahanan pangan mandiri. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota Kelompok Petani Kecil (KPK) Kemuning di Kelurahan Medang Kampai, Kecamatan Mundam, Kota Dumai, dalam mengolah nanas menjadi produk berkualitas. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah atau sosialisasi tentang kualitas nanas serta evaluasi melalui tanya jawab dan kuesioner. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan 85% peserta merasa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat, memberikan kontribusi besar dalam memecahkan masalah dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemberdayaan peserta pengabdian.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini dilaksanakan atas adanya permasalahan terkait pengemasan pada suatu produk rumahtangga yang dijalankan oleh masyarakat setempat khususnya produk keripik singkong.  Pengemasan produk yang baik tidak hanya menghasilkan tampilan produk yang menarik tetapi juga dapat memberikan nilai tambah/ nilai jual lebih tinggi dan meningkatnya daya tahan produk. kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan tambahan pengetahuan warga dan pelaku usaha keripik singkong mengenai packaging dan memberikan pemahaman yang tepat mengenai pemasaran produk keripik singkong untuk meningkatkan penjualan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan kerjasama dengan mitra yaitu Kelompok Tani Berkah di Kelurahan Teluk Makmur Kecamatan Medang Kampai Kota Dumai Provinsi Riau. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan kerjasama dengan mitra yaitu Kelompok Tani Berkah di Kelurahan Teluk Makmur Kecamatan Medang Kampai Kota Dumai Provinsi Riau. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta, sebanyak 75%, sangat memahami tahapan kegiatan, dengan 12,5% memahami, dan 12,53% cukup memahami materi yang disampaikan.

Abstract

Produksi padi sawah di Desa Pulau Banjar Kari belum optimal. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah luas lahan yang terbatas dan biaya pupuk yang cukup tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: teknologi budidaya dan penggunaan faktor produksi; dan biaya produksi, produksi, pendapatan dan efisiensi usahatani padi sawah di Desa Pulau Banjar Kari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Tempat penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Pulau Banjar Kari Kecamatan Kuantan Tengah Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Provinsi Riau. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan yaitu dimulai pada bulan November 2023 sampai April 2024 .Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh petani berjumlah 20 petani. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Teknologi budidaya padi sawah di Desa Pulau Banjar Kari sudah sesuai dengan standar usahatani kecuali dalam pemberian dosis pupuk Urea, SP-36 dan KCL. Budidaya usahatani padi sawah di Kecamatan Kuantan Tengah telah menggunakan teknologi dalam proses produsinya. Teknologi yang digunakan yaitu berupa mesin Hand Traktor saat melakuan pengolahan lahan, penggunaan mesin Transplanter dalam melakukan penanaman dan penggunaan mesin Combine harvester saat melakukan pemanenan. Penggunaan faktor produksi (a) luas lahan garapan yang digunakan seluas 0,855 ha. (b) Benih yang digunakan sebanyak 21,10 kg/Ha/MT, (c) penggunaan pupuk yang digunakan adalah urea 110,68 kg/Ha/MT, SP-36 74,40 kg/Ha/MT dan pupuk organik sebanyak 826,53 kg/Ha/MT. (d) penggunaan pestisida tabas 163,4 ml/Ha/MT dan dharmabas 214 ml/Ha/MT. (e)kebutuhan tenaga kerja sebanyak 32,67 HOK/Ha/MT. (f) alat dan mesin seluruhnya menggunakan satu unit tiap petani. Total biaya produksi yaitu sebesar Rp 8.829.152/Ha/MT. Pendapatan kotor diperoleh sebesar Rp. 24.763.040/garapan/MT dengan produksi sebesar 6.190 kg/Ha/MT. Pendapatan bersih sebesar Rp. 7.186.591/Ha/MT, efesiensi atau RCR diperoleh sebesar 2,8 yang artinya usahatani padi sawah di Pulau Banjar Kari Kecamatan Kuantan Tengah sudah menguntungkan untuk diusahakan.

Abstract

Livestock farming, particularly broiler chicken farming, is a well-known venture in the community. This type of farming incorporates selective and advanced technological inputs to enhance the production and productivity of chicken farmers in a professional manner. The objective of this study is to evaluate the financial viability of broiler chicken farming in Jake Village, located in the Kuantan Tengah District of Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. Using a case study approach, the research involved direct interviews with farmers. The study was conducted over six months, from October 2023 to March 2024, with respondents including business owners and workers. Data was analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods, incorporating both primary and secondary data sources. The findings from the financial feasibility analysis indicate that the business is viable for operation and growth, having met the investment criteria with a Net Present Value (NPV) of 443,513,051 (greater than 0), an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 35% (exceeding the prevailing interest rate of 14% used in this study), a Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C) of 1.76 (greater than 1), and a payback period of 3 years and 21 days projected over the next decade.

Abstract

Rice plants as a source of food production are really needed by the community. Mentayan Village develops rice fields that use rainwater as a source of irrigation. There is a farmer group in the area known as the Bina Maju farmer group. This farmer group has problems or obstacles in cultivation such as lack of use of fertilizer, rare and high prices of chemical fertilizers and lack of subsidies and fertilizer assistance from the government which can affect the amount of rice produced. This service is carried out with the aim of providing solutions to problems in the Bina Maju farmer group. The solution to the problems faced by this farmer group can be solved by using organic fertilizer. The implementation method for socialization is to explain in detail and clearly about organic fertilizer using the lecture and discussion method between the service team and a demonstration of making organic fertilizer that can be applied to rice plants. Based on the service activities, the results obtained were that the activity participants had understood the material about making organic fertilizer and could then practice it and produce organic fertilizer independently to overcome the shortage of chemical fertilizers in rice plants.
