Abstract

Abstract This research was conducted to develop a Think Talk Write-based worksheet for writing biographical text. The researcher used the ADDIE development model as a guide in the implementation of development. To obtain the data for this study, the researcher used assessment instruments, namely validation questionnaire of a material expert, a linguist, a design expert, a student response questionnaire, and a learning outcome test. Data analysis was obtained by collecting quantitative and qualitative data from validators and students. The results of this study are that the value of the results of validation, trial and learning outcomes is found. Material expert validation in revision I reached 86.2% and in revision II reached 97.5%, linguist validation in revision I reached 82.1% and in revision II reached 100%, and design expert validation in revision I reached 75% and in revision II reached 100%, with very feasible criteria. Student responses to individual trials reached 98% and field trials reached 97%, with very practical criteria. Student learning outcomes in individual trials reached 100% and field trials reached 83.3%, with the criteria of Very Effective. The results of this study can be concluded, that is, that the development of Indonesian language worksheets for the 9th Grade Students of the SMA based on Think Talk Write is very feasible, very practical, and very effective to use in the Indonesian language learning process. Researchers suggest: 1) LKPD can be used by students and teachers in any school, 2) for teachers, it can be a reference in developing other creative teaching materials. Abstract

This research aims to investigate methods to enhance student engagement and attentiveness during classroom instruction. Specifically, it explores the effectiveness of the talking stick learning model in fostering active listening among students. Adopting a qualitative approach with a phenomenological lens, this study examines the experiences of a group of students in utilizing talking sticks during classroom interactions. Through direct observation and interviews, data were collected to assess students' level of involvement, focus, and participation following the implementation of the talking stick model. The findings reveal that the majority of students (29 out of 32) demonstrated improved listening skills with the implementation of the talking stick method, indicating its potential efficacy in enhancing classroom dynamics. This study sheds light on innovative strategies to promote student engagement and active learning.

Abstract

This research investigates the factors influencing the use of Indonesian and regional languages among vocational high school students. Utilizing a qualitative research design and a case study approach, the study explores the impact of regional languages on students' use of Indonesian during daily school interactions. Data were gathered through observations and interviews with students, which were then subjected to a detailed case study analysis. The findings indicate that students often code-switch between Indonesian and regional languages during the learning process. While regional languages are predominantly used in peer interactions for better mutual understanding, Indonesian is more frequently employed in teacher-student interactions, particularly when answering questions. Despite teachers' efforts to promote the use of Indonesian, regional languages persist in informal settings. This study underscores the dynamic relationship between regional languages and Indonesian, highlighting the necessity for language policies that support multilingualism within educational settings

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of the storytelling method on learning outcomes in Indonesian language subjects for junior high school students. Through a combination of observations and field notes, significant improvements were observed in students' story comprehension, speaking skills, and creativity. The storytelling method was effective as it engaged students in an interesting and relevant context, boosting their motivation to learn. Expressive storytelling helped students understand and remember storylines better and improved their speaking skills by providing practice opportunities in a supportive atmosphere. Additionally, storytelling fostered creativity by encouraging imagination and improvisation. The study concludes that storytelling enhances students' motivation, interest, speaking skills, listening comprehension, and overall communication abilities. Therefore, it is an effective approach for Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Research shows that PBL, which places students as active subjects in learning by emphasizing problem solving, provides better results in improving vocabulary understanding compared to conventional learning. Students who engage in PBL tend to have higher scores because they are actively involved in the learning process, where they are faced with challenging problems and given the opportunity to find their own solutions. In an effort to increase the effectiveness of the learning process, the use of learning models is crucial. The right learning model plays an important role in achieving educational goals. The purpose of this article is to compare conventional learning models and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in understanding Indonesian vocabulary. By using qualitative methods. However, there are several obstacles in implementing PBL, such as lack of familiarity of students and teachers with this model and time constraints. However, the effectiveness of a learning model does not only depend on the model itself, but is also influenced by various other factors such as student characteristics, the quality of teacher teaching, and school environmental conditions. Thus, selecting a learning model that suits students' needs and characteristics is the key to achieving effective learning goals and increasing understanding of Indonesian vocabulary.

Abstract

The limited supporting media in the teaching and learning process causes the teaching and learning process to be less effective. To overcome this, it can be done by using power point-based interactive learning media on Indonesian language material. This research was conducted in class VII UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. The purpose of this study is to develop interactive power point-based learning media, to determine the level of student skills through the use of powerpoint learning media. The research method used is Borg and Gall research. Based on the research conducted and the formulation of the problem and research objectives, the authors conclude that the developed media is suitable for use in the Indonesian language learning process.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk menjelaskan manfaat aplikasi Mendeley dalam mensitasi karya ilmiah secara sistematis dan menulis daftar pustaka secara otomatis. peserta dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Nias, khususnya semester VII (tujuh) yang sedang menyusun proposal penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini melalui workshop, ceramah, dan diskusi dengan pendekatan kolaborasi dengan komunitas ilmiah melalui langkah-langkah dasar penggunaan aplikasi, seperti cara menambahkan referensi, membuat daftar pustaka, dan mengorganisir dokumen. Dengan menggunakan Mendeley, penulis akan lebih mudah untuk mengambil sumber dan isi tulisan dari sumber pustaka, baik secara manual maupun secara otomatis. Aplikasi mendeley dapat menghemat waktu, mengurangi kesalahan kutipan, kolaborasi yang lebih mudah dan akses referensi dan dokumen akademik dari perangkat seluler dengan mengidentifikasikan kualitas dan keaslian setiap referensi disitasi. Hasil pengabdian ini dapat menunjang dan memfasilitasi kolaborasi antarpeneliti atau penulis dalam pengumpulan referensi, catatan, dan dokumen. Melalui workshop tentang menejemen referensi ini diharapkan mahasiswa dapat mengakses dan menyimpan referensi mereka secara online, menyediakan penyimpanan awan (cloud storage) untuk dokumen dan referensi yang dapat diimpor dari berbagai sumber, dan aplikasi secara otomatis membuat entri referensi dengan informasi lengkapmeningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas pekerjaan akademis mahasiswa melalui aplikasi mendeley, zotero dan jenis lannya.

Abstract

Pernikahan adat Nias melalui berbagai rangkaian adat yang harus dilaksanakan, salah satunya adalah Fanika Era-era Mböwö. Pelaksanaan Fanika Era-era Mböwö tidaklah sembarang pelaksanaannya, ada beberapa tahapan yang harus dilakukan serta ada amanat yang perlu disampaikan kepada pengantin laki-laki. Pesta pernikahan adat Nias sangat menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai budaya dan tradisi leluhur masyarakat Nias. Maka peneliti tertarik untuk menganalisis bagaimana nilai-nilai budaya yang terdapat dalam Fanika Era-era Mböwö, makna penggunaan daun kelapa serta makna tuturan keturunan yang wajib dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Ononamolo I Lot yang beradat Laraga. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara serta dokumentasi. Peneliti menganalisis data dengan teknik kondensasi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa nilai budaya Fanika Era- era Mböwö di Pesta Pernikahan Adat Nias terdiri atas 6 (enam) yaitu : 1(satu) nilai religius, 6 (enam) nilai moral, satu (1) nilai sosial, empat (4) nilai tanggungjawab, satu (1) nilai estetika, dan satu (1) nilai filosofis. Dari nilai-nilai ini terurai semua hal yang menjadi tanggungjawab dan amanat yang perlu dilaksanakan mempelai laki-laki dan tidak boleh dilanggar.

Abstract

Kesalahan dalam menyusun struktur kalimat oleh siswa harus diminimalisir karena dapat menghambat rasa percaya diri siswa dalam bertanya. Hal ini terjadi ketika siswa belum sepenuhnya memahami materi yang disampaikan guru dan belum memiliki penguasaan yang cukup terhadap penggunaan struktur kalimat. Kesalahan dalam penulisan struktur kalimat dapat beragam, mulai dari kalimat tanpa subjek, tanpa predikat, tanpa objek, tanpa pelengkap, dan tanpa keterangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelengkapan dan kesalahan penggunaan struktur kalimat pada karangan teks persuasif siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Alasa. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh sebanyak 28 kelengkapan, yang meliputi : (1) kalimat tunggal berjumlah 13 kelengkapan struktur, (2) kalimat majemuk bertingkat berjumlah 14 kelengkapan struktur,(3) kalimat majemuk setara berjumlah 1 kelengkapan struktur. Sedangkan kesalahan struktur kalimat pada karangan siswa diperoleh 44 kesalahan, yang meliputi kesalahan (1) kalimat tunggal berjumlah 17 kesalahan, (2) kalimat majemuk bertingkat berjumlah 26 kesalahan dan (3) kalimat majemuk setara berjumlah 2 kesalahan.

Abstract

Kesalahan berbahasa didefinisikan sebagai bentuk tuturan yang tidak sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa, yang mencerminkan kurangnya pengetahuan dan penguasaan terhadap kode bahasa. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan berbahasa adalah kurangnya pemahaman tentang tata bahasa yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan afiksasi pada karangan siswa di SMP Negeri 4 Lahewa Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah lembar hasil kerja siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Lahewa Timur. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh sebanyak 59 kesalahan kesalahan afiksasi pada karangan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Lahewa Timur yang meliputi: bentuk kesalahan peletakan afiks sebanyak 17 kesalahan, bentuk kesalahan penggunaan preposisi atau kata depan sebanyak 16 kesalahan, bentuk kesalahan pemilihan afiks sebanyak 4 kesalahan, bentuk kesalahan penghilangan afiks sebanyak 14 kesalahan, dan bentuk kesalahan peluluhan bunyi pada kata berimbuhan sebanyak 8 kesalahan.
