Abstract

Drug management is a pharmaceutical service activity that starts from planning, procurement, distribution, use and disposal of drugs. The aim is to ensure the continuity and availability of efficient, effective and rational medicines, increase the competency of pharmaceutical staff, create a management information system and implement service quality control and implementation relationships in drug management at the Mamajang Community Health Center, Mamajang District, Makassar City. Collection was carried out through in-depth interview techniques and direct observation. The results of drug planning at the Mamajang Community Health Center are in accordance with the drug management guidelines which are seen based on needs at the Community Health Center. Requests for drugs are in accordance with the procedures for procuring/requesting drugs from the Health Service via LPLPO to the District Pharmacy Warehouse (GFK). The distribution of medicines at the Mamajang Community Health Center is not in accordance with the drug management guidelines from GFK and is not in accordance with the needs at the Community Health Center, due to the lack of budget from the APBD which is channeled through the City Health Service. The conclusion is that the planning and use of drugs is in accordance with procedures, while the distribution of drugs is not in accordance with drug management guidelines because the APBD budget is not channeled through the Health Service. So it is hoped that when distributing medicines from the Makassar City Health Service or (GFK) they should pay attention to the procurement/request for medicines based on the LPLPO. The high population ratio in Pamenang, Tanjung, and Gangga Districts compared to existing health facilities and personnel is a very principal problem related to health education for the community, including information about health. One of them is about the correct procedures for obtaining, using, storing and managing medicines which includes how to use special medicines. The aim of this socialization is to educate human resources at the Mamajang Community Health Center. Socialization of this program is carried out through the delivery of material, discussions, questions and answers, demonstrations by pharmacists. The participants happened to be human resources at the Community Health Center who were very enthusiastic about this program because of the participants' activeness in asking and answering questions about drug management.

Abstract

The digital transformation of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs/UMKM) has become increasingly critical in Indonesia's post-pandemic economic recovery. This qualitative study examines the effectiveness of mentoring programs focused on Business Model Canvas (BMC) development and online marketing strategies using local platforms for UMKM acceleration. Through in-depth interviews with 15 UMKM owners, 5 mentors, and 3 platform representatives across various Indonesian cities, this research employs thematic content analysis to understand the impact of structured mentoring on digital transformation outcomes. The findings reveal that comprehensive BMC mentoring significantly enhances UMKM owners' understanding of business model components, with participants demonstrating improved capability in customer segmentation, value proposition development, and revenue stream diversification. Local platform adoption showed superior outcomes compared to international alternatives, with 35% average sales increases and enhanced operational efficiency. The study identifies key success factors including local language support, lower commission fees, and community-based learning approaches. These findings contribute to the understanding of effective community service methodologies for UMKM digital transformation and provide practical frameworks for scaling mentoring programs across Indonesia's diverse economic landscape.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a significant non-communicable disease that remains a public health concern in Indonesia, especially in urban areas like Makassar. Pharmacological treatment often faces adherence challenges due to side effects and economic limitations. Non-pharmacological interventions such as deep breathing relaxation techniques offer a simple, low-cost, and effective alternative to manage blood pressure. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of educational interventions on deep breathing relaxation techniques in reducing blood pressure among hypertensive patients at Tamalanrea Jaya Public Health Center, Makassar. Methods: This case study used a descriptive design involving two female hypertensive patients aged 59 and 60. The intervention consisted of deep breathing relaxation therapy administered over three days, accompanied by structured health education on proper breathing techniques. Blood pressure was measured before and after each session. Results: Before the intervention, respondent 1 had a blood pressure of 160/120 mmHg, and respondent 2 had 170/120 mmHg. After three sessions of deep breathing relaxation, their blood pressure reduced to 130/90 mmHg and 140/90 mmHg, respectively. Both respondents reported improved comfort, relaxation, and adherence due to the simplicity and flexibility of the technique. Conclusion: The results indicate that deep breathing relaxation techniques, combined with structured education, effectively lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This method is practical, non-invasive, and can be performed independently at home. It is recommended as a complementary approach in primary health care settings to help manage hypertension and reduce the risk of complications
