Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to analyze the difference effect of sport drink and sweet orange juice on VO2 max value in soccer athletes. This study was in the field of quasi experimental design with pre-post test with controlled group. The subject of this study were 22 soccer athletes which are calculated by Lameshow formula. The subject has given 300 ml sport drink, sweet orange juice without any additional ingredients, and placebo for 3 days intervention. The VO2 max value was measured by Balke running test before dan after the treatment. Data were analyzed by paired sample t-test, one way ANOVA, dan post-hoc LSD. Based on the results of the paired sample t-test, there were significant differences between the values before dan after treatment (p0.05). There was an increase of VO2 max in the sweet orange group (5.53±3.09) dan sport drink group (3.2±2.11). There wasn’t a significant difference effectivity of sport drink (52.68±2.27) ml/kgBB/minute dan sweet orange juice (54.86±1.29) ml/kgBB/minute on VO2 max value in football athletes (p0.05). Sport drink and sweet juice orange can increase VO2 max in football athletes. There is no difference in the effectiveness of VO2 max in both of these drinks.  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan efektivitas pemberian minuman isotonik dan jeruk manis peras terhadap VO2 max atlet sepak bola. Desain penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental, pre-post test with control group design. Jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 22 atlet sepak bola yang dihitung berdasarkan rumus Lameshow. Subjek penelitian pada 3 kelompok berbeda menerima 3 hari intervensi pemberian 300 ml isotonik bermerek, jeruk manis peras, dan placebo. Nilai VO2 max diukur dengan menggunakan tes Balke. Nilai VO2 max dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test, uji one way ANOVA, dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Post-hoc LSD. Berdasarkan hasil uji paired sample t-test, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan pada kedua kelompok (p0,05). Terjadi peningkatan VO2 max pada kelompok jeruk manis peras (5,53±3,09) dan kelompok minuman isotonik (3,2±2,11) ml/kg BB/menit. Tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan efektivitas minuman isotonik (52,68±2,27) ml/kg BB/menit dan jeruk manis peras (54,86±1,29) ml/kg BB/menit terhadap VO2 max atlet sepak bola (p0,05). Rerata VO2 max sebelum perlakuan ketiga kelompok relatif sama atau tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan (p0,05), sedangkan rerata VO2 max sesudah perlakuan ketiga kelompok mempunyai perbedaan yang signifikan (p 0,05). Pemberian minuman isotonik dan jeruk manis peras dapat meningkatkan VO2 max atlet sepak bola, dan tidak terdapat perbedaan efektivitas di antara keduanya.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are a population at risk of iron deficiency due to increased nutrient requirements during growth. The high incidence of anemia among adolescents will continue into adulthood if not handled properly. Problems that will be experienced are pallor, fatigue, dizziness and the ability to concentrate on learning. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between macronutrients and micronutrients with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls at SMP Plus Al Muhsinin in Cangkuang District. This research method uses a cross sectional design of 35 respondents who come from Al Muhsinin Plus Junior High School students in Cangkuang District. This research method used a cross-sectional design on 35 respondents from students of SMP Plus Al Muhsinin in Cangkuang District. Data were collected on nutrient intake using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SFFQ) and the value of hemoglobin levels using the hemoglobin blood test (GCHb). The results of statistical tests using chi-square showed there was a significant relationship between carbohydrate intake with a value of (p = 0.009), protein intake with a value of (p = 0.001), fat intake with a value of (p = 0.004), iron intake with a value of (p = 0.004), vitamin C intake with a value of (p = 0.016), folic acid intake with a value of (p = 0.016). There was no significant relationship in zinc intake with a value of (p = 1,000). It is expected that schools can make healthy canteens and healthy breakfast movements routinely 2x a week and form teams and youth cadres as supervisors of fe tablet consumption.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where blood pressure is more than 140/90 mmHg, which occurs because the heart pumps blood faster to fill oxygen and nutritional needs. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status, sodium, potassium and fiber with the incidence of hypertension at the Cimaung Public Health Center, Bandung Regency. The research design used was case control. The sample consisted of 132 respondents consisting of 66 cases and 66 controls obtained by accidental sampling. Data collection on characteristics such as age, gender, level of education was obtained through interviews. Data on sodium, potassium and fiber intake was obtained through interviews using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) form and nutritional status data was obtained through direct measurements of body weight and height. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi Square test. Statistical test results of the relationship between nutritional status and hypertension (p-value = 0,456 (p>0.05)), sodium (p-value = 0,000 (p0.05)). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between sodium and potassium and the incidence of hypertension at the Cimaung Public Health Center, Bandung Regency. There is no relationship between nutritional status, fiber and the incidence of hypertension at the Cimaung Public Health Center, Bandung Regency.

Abstract

The problem of stunting in Indonesia is still quite high, namely 21,6% based on data from the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI). One of the effective measures to control stunting is through providing additional food (PMT) such as biscuits to children. Carrots and pumpkin are local foods that are rich in beta carotene. Carotenoids as a source of provitamin A are able to overcome the problem of vitamin A deficiency (VAD), which is the cause of growth disorders in children. This research aims to determine the effect of substitution of yellow pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) and carrot (Daucus carota L.) composite flour on organoleptic characteristics including color, aroma, taste, texture and nutritional content (beta carotene, carbohydrates, protein and fat). This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 treatments, namely formula 1 (150 grams of wheat flour, 50 grams of pumpkin flour and 50 grams of carrot flour), formula 2 (50 grams of wheat flour, 60 grams of pumpkin flour and 50 grams of flour carrots) and formula 3 (50 grams of wheat flour, 50 grams of pumpkin flour and 150 grams of carrot flour) with 3 repetitions. The research results showed that formula 3 biscuits were the best formulation in terms of organoleptic characteristics with the highest beta carotene content compared to F1 and F2. F3 biscuits contain 30,97 mg beta carotene, 7,45 grams of carbohydrates, 3,22 grams of protein and 8,89 grams of fat. The conclusion of this research is that the substitution of wheat flour with composite flour (Cucurbita moschata and Daucus carota L.) has an effect on the nutritional content (beta carotene, carbohydrates, protein and fat) of biscuits. Consuming pumpkin biscuits per 100 grams can qualify as a good source of the antioxidant beta carotene.

Abstract

ASI Eksklusif yaitu  bayi yang  hanya diberi ASI saja tanpa diberi  tambahan cairan lain seperti susu formula, air, madu, dan tambahan makanan padat seperti pisang, pepaya, biskuit, nasi dan nasi tim selama 6 bulan. Cakupan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Kabupaten Sukabumi  mengalami penurunan dari tahun 2022 sebanyak 64,3% menjadi 61,2% pada tahun 2023.Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui faktor sosial budaya dalam  pemberian ASI eksklusif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian desain analitik cross sectional. Teknik sampling dengan total sampling sebanyak 67 responden yang mempunyai bayi usia 0-6 bulan. Variabel bebas penelitian ini sosial budaya dalam mendukung asi ekslusif. Variabel terikat penelitian ini adalah pemberian ASI eksklusif. Hasil penelitian didapatkan proporsi pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan dukungan dari sosial budaya setempat adalah 39 ibu (58,2%). Faktor sosial budaya berhubungan dengan keberhasilan pemberian ASI Ekslusif dengan nilai p value 0,00 PR: 6,2 (2,1 -18,1). Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna bahwa faktor sosial budaya yang masih melekat kuat pada masyarakat dengan berbagai mitos dan kepercayaanya menjadi hal yang dapat mendukung atau bahkan menghambat pemberian ASI Ekslusif pada bayi.

Abstract

SSGI data for 2022 shows that the prevalence of malnourished children under five is 7.7% and in Banten province it has increased from 5.8% to 9.8%. Malnutrition in toddlers is the main cause of growth and development disorders. One of the government programs in dealing with malnourished toddlers is an education class for mothers of toddlers based on MCH books which is expected to be able to improve the nutritional status of malnourished toddlers. This research aims to determine the effect of nutritional education through classes for mothers of toddlers based on MCH books on the nutritional status of malnourished toddlers. Experimental research method with a one group pretest posttest design. The sample for this research was 60 malnourished toddlers using a purposive sampling technique. Primary data includes sample characteristics, maternal nutritional knowledge collected through interviews using questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. Research data was processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS, analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test statistical test. The results showed that the majority of toddlers (71.7%) were male, 66.7% of mothers had an elementary school educational background and the majority did not work (76.7%) and came from families with monthly income below the minimum wage. (53.3%). Research data shows that there is a positive change in the mother's nutritional knowledge score, namely 30% to 75% in the good category and 70% to 25% in the poor category. Most toddlers experience an increase in average body weight, body length and z-score value of BB/PB or BB/TB. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test statistical test showed that there was an influence of maternal classroom nutrition education on maternal nutritional knowledge (p=0.000) and nutritional status of toddlers (p=0.000). It is hoped that this class program for mothers of toddlers can be continued, considering the impact felt by the target group.

Abstract

Wasting remains a significant nutritional challenge in Indonesia. Despite a reduction in its prevalence from 10.2% in 2018 to 7.1% in 2021, the rate still falls short of the national target of 7%. This study aims to examine the relationship between health services and family income on the incidence of wasting in toddlers aged 0-59 months in the Polombangkeng Utara sub-district, Takalar district. The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study consisted of toddlers aged 0-59 months in the North Polombangkeng sub-district, with a sample size of 146 toddlers. A probability sampling technique was used. The analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The results of the chi-square test show that household food security is not related to the incidence of wasting, with a p-value of 0.590 (>0.05). Similarly, there is no relationship between growth monitoring and the incidence of wasting, with a p-value of 0.240 (>0.05), and no relationship between the completeness of immunization status and the incidence of wasting, with a p-value of 0.776 (>0.05). However, family income does show a relationship to the incidence of wasting, with a p-value of 0.032 (<0.05). This study indicates that food security and health services do not impact the incidence of wasting. In contrast, family income, which is a primary factor in nutritional problems, does have an impact on the incidence of wasting. The issue of wasting in toddlers can be prevented and addressed through specific and sensitive nutrition interventions.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the influence of tempe giving to the oxidative stress in rats with high physical activities. This research was true experimental post-test only with control group design on 35 rats. The rats were given high physical activities and tempe treatments for 30 days. Those rats were divided into 5 group, which were: control 1 without giving tempe and supplement, control 2 with the giving of the commercial supplement, treatment 1 with giving 0.75 g tempe/200 g of body weight/day, treatment 2 with giving 1.5 g tempe/200 g of body weight/day and treatment 3 with giving 3 g tempe/200 g of body weight/day. At the end of this research, it was done the examination of the plasma MDA level by using TBARS method and activities of SOD enzyme using spectrofometry. The statistical analysis used One-way ANOVA Tests and Post Hoc LSD. The result showed that the tempe giving at various doses was significantly influenced to the reduction of MDA level (p<0.05) and also significantly influenced to the increasing activities of SOD enzyme (p<0.05). The giving of 3 g tempe was the most effective dose to the reduction of MDA level and the increasing activities of SOD enzyme. The conclusion was tempe could decrease the MDA level and increase the activities of SOD enzyme significantly in oxidative stress rats with high physical activities.

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan utama pada lansia yang dapat meningkatkan risiko komplikasi kardiovaskular apabila tidak dikelola dengan baik. Gaya hidup tidak sehat seperti pola makan tinggi lemak, kurang aktivitas fisik, serta minimnya dukungan keluarga menjadi faktor risiko yang dominan, terutama pada kelompok lansia dengan obesitas sentral. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran lansia dalam pengelolaan hipertensi melalui edukasi kesehatan berbasis komunitas gereja dengan pendekatan holistik yang meliputi aspek gizi seimbang, aktivitas fisik, dan dukungan keluarga. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Gereja Kristen Pasundan Awiligar, Kota Bandung, dengan melibatkan 32 lansia yang tergabung dalam kelompok lansia gereja. Metode kegiatan terdiri dari pengkajian awal, edukasi kesahatan, praktik senam lansia, serta pendampingan edukatif dengan melibatkan keluarga. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre test dan post test pengetahuan, serta observasi partisipasi lansia. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan lansia setelah intervensi (p = 0,000000037), dengan 90,6% peserta mencapai kategori pengetahuan baik pada post test. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa edukasi kesehatan berbasis komunitas gereja efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman lansia terkait pencegahan dan pengelolaan hipertensi. Pendekatan holistik yang melibatkan aspek fisik, nutrisi, dan dukungan sosial sangat disarankan untuk diterapkan secara berkelanjutan dalam upaya promotif dan preventif di komunitas lansia.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe ability to concentrate on learning is very important in supporting students’ academic achievements. Learning concentration is influenced by various lifestyle factors such as breakfast habits, sleep quality, and gadget screen time. This study aims to determine how the relationship between these three variables affects students’ learning concetration at SMP Kartika X-1 Bandung. This analytical observational research uses a cross-sectional approach involving 143 subjects from grades VII and VIII, selected through proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. The research instruments included a breakfast habits questionnaire, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), a gadget screen time questionnaire, and a learning concentration questionnaire. The result show that (52.4%) of respondents have requent breakfast habits, (49%) have sufficient sleep quality, (74.1%) have excessive screen time, and (41.3%) have low learning concentration. Bivariate analysis shows that breakfast habits p=0.011, sleep quality p=0.000, and gadget screen time p=0.012 are significantly relate to students’ concentration (p0.05)ABSTRAKKemampuan dalam konsentrasi belajar sangat penting dalam mendukung prestasi akademik siswa. Konsentrasi belajar dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor gaya hidup seperti kebiasaan sarapan, kualitas tidur, dan screen time gadget. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan bagaimana hubungan antara ketiga variabel ini mempengaruhi konsentrasi belajar siswa di SMP Kartika X-1 Bandung. Penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional yang melibatkan 143 subjek dari kelas VII dan VIII, yang dipilih melalui teknik proportionate strastified random sampling. Instrumen penelitian meliputi kuesioner kebiasaan sarapan, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), kuesioner screen time gadget, dan kuesioner konsentrasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (52.4%) responden memiliki kebiasaan sarapan yang baik, (49%) memiliki kualitas tidur yang cukup, (74.1%) memiliki screen time berlebihan, dan (41,3%) memiliki konsentrasi belajar yang rendah. Analisis bivariat menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan sarapan p=0.011, kualitas tidur p=0.000, dan screen time gadget p=0.012 secara signifikan berkaitan dengan konsentrasi belajar siswa (p0.05).
