Abstract

Abstract

An exploration of the local wisdom of Semarang City through the R-STEAM (Religion, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach shows the integration of local cultural, historical, artistic, and culinary values with the application of R-STEAM to Lawang Sewu, Semarangan batik, and Semarang spring rolls. This study enriches the understanding of science and technology while strengthening cultural awareness and local identity. Lawang Sewu, as a historical building, becomes an ideal model to study mathematics in geometry, as well as the integration of religious values and art in construction. Batik Semarangan represents the application of R-STEAM in the exploration of the art and technology of batik making, including the use of natural dyes and modern engineering techniques for innovative motifs. Finally, Semarang spring rolls within the R-STEAM framework encompass traditional food processing techniques, health and nutrition aspects, and innovative approaches in combining tradition with modern technology in the culinary industry, particularly in relation to healthy food learning. Overall, the application of R-STEAM tools in this exploration of Semarang's local wisdom provides significant opportunities to integrate cultural heritage with science, technology and arts learning. Practical implications include recommendations for educational curriculum development that integrates R-STEAM with local wisdom, as well as the formulation of education policy that supports the preservation and utilization of local culture in the context of modern education

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Pancasila Education learning process in Phase C of elementary school by examining time management practices and the achievement of the Profile of Pancasila Students dimensions. The research is motivated by the mismatch between planned instructional time and actual classroom implementation under the Independent Curriculum, which affects learning dynamics and student competency development. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach at SDN Tugurejo 03 Semarang. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers, and documentation of lesson plans and learning records. The results show that the initial stage of learning was well-managed; however, time constraints began to arise during the main activities and became more apparent at the closing stage. Limited time, transitions before break time, and fluctuating student focus prevented deeper reflection and reinforcement. These conditions influenced the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile dimensions, especially in communication, independence, and critical thinking, which had not yet developed optimally—particularly for students with low basic literacy skills. Meanwhile, collaboration, creativity, and moral values emerged more consistently through contextual and cooperative activities. The findings highlight that the effectiveness of Pancasila Education is strongly influenced by adaptive time management and classroom readiness. The study recommends flexible time allocation strategies, improved scheduling to support student concentration, and differentiated support for students with special needs, serving as practical input for improving the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

This study investigates the essential role of the family environment in shaping children’s character, particularly regarding respect and discipline among fourth-grade students at SDN Pendrikan Kidul. The problem identified in the classroom shows that several students still display disrespectful behaviors, such as teasing peers and interrupting conversations, as well as low discipline, including late submission of assignments and violations of class rules. These conditions indicate a significant influence of family dynamics and parenting styles. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the family environment and parenting patterns affect students’ respectful attitudes and discipline. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through observations in Grade IV A and IV B and semi-structured interviews with homeroom teachers. The findings reveal that students from harmonious families with democratic parenting tend to demonstrate better social skills, stronger discipline, and higher self-control, supported by warm, affectionate, and consistent interactions at home. In contrast, students from non-intact families or those receiving inconsistent supervision and limited parental attention often show disrespectful behavior, low empathy, and frequent rule violations. The study concludes that a supportive family environment and consistent parenting play a crucial role in developing children’s character and self-regulation, whereas lack of guidance contributes to social difficulties and disciplinary problems. The implications highlight the critical role of teachers in strengthening character development for students who receive limited support at home and recommend improved communication and supervision from parents, along with enhanced collaboration between teachers and schools to foster students’ social-emotional growth.
