Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine differences in the level of physical activity of zillenial generation based on gender. The method used is a quantitative research method with a comparative causal approach. The population of this study is generation Z who live in Kota Bandung. The sample in this study was 134 people with the sampling technique using Convenience Sampling. The physical activity instrument in data collection uses the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ). Data was analyzed using Mann Whitney U test. The description of the physical activity of the zillenial generation based on the GPAQ domain shows that in the domain of activity at work/study, travel to and from places and sedentary behavior there are no differences based on gender. Which shows that Generation Z does a lot of moderate physical activity. While in the domain of recreational activities there are differences based on gender. The results of the data analysis show the value of sig. p=0.453 > 0.05, data is significant. The results of this study concluded that there was no difference in the physical activity of zillenial generation based on gender.

Abstract

Background: Physical activity is recognized as an important determinant of adolescent health; however, the relationship between physical activity levels and a healthy lifestyle does not always show a consistent pattern across different environmental contexts. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between physical activity and healthy lifestyle among boarding school students. Methods: A cross-sectional design was employed, involving 40 twelfth-grade students residing at Al-Masoem Islamic Boarding School. Physical activity was measured using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), while healthy lifestyle was assessed with the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP-II). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation tests, and comparisons based on gender, body mass index, and frequency of returning home. Results: he results indicated a significant and strong positive relationship between physical activity and overall healthy lifestyle. However, differences in physical activity by gender were not accompanied by differences in healthy lifestyle, and no significant differences were found based on body mass index categories or frequency of returning home. Conclusions: These findings suggest that high physical activity in the boarding school environment is largely influenced by institutional structure and does not fully reflect the internalization of a healthy lifestyle. The study emphasizes the importance of health promotion approaches that consider environmental context and psychosocial factors to support sustainable healthy behaviors among adolescents. Abstract

Physical fitness is an important component in maintaining health and quality of life. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sleep quality, physical activity patterns, muscle mass, fat mass, and body mass index (BMI) in fitness center members. Using a quantitative correlational approach, this study involved 54 participants selected through purposive sampling technique. The instruments used included the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), 24h Movement Questionnaire (QMov24h), and body composition measurements using the Karada Scan. The results showed that good sleep quality and involvement in structured physical activity were associated with a more ideal body composition, characterized by higher muscle mass, balanced fat mass, and BMI in the normal category. In contrast, moderate and vigorous physical activity did not show a significant relationship to body composition. These findings emphasize the importance of comprehensive lifestyle management that includes sleep quality, daily activity, and body composition monitoring to achieve optimal fitness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine research trends related to the influence of social media on athletes’ mental health using a bibliometric analysis approach. A bibliometric trend analysis was conducted using data retrieved from the Scopus database. A total of 261 documents published between 2014 and 2025 were analyzed with VOSviewer to identify publication growth, author productivity, geographical distribution, collaboration networks, and keyword co-occurrence patterns. The results reveal a substantial increase in research output over the past decade, indicating growing academic interest in this topic. Key themes frequently addressed include mental health, fan engagement, self-presentation, anxiety, and psychological support for athletes. Research contributions are predominantly led by developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, highlighting strong international collaboration, while developing regions remain underrepresented. Keyword analysis demonstrates the dual role of social media, functioning both as a source of psychological pressure through criticism and social comparison, and as a platform for support and positive social interaction. In conclusion, the impact of social media on athletes’ mental health represents an evolving research field that requires broader global perspectives and multidisciplinary approaches to inform effective policies and interventions in the digital sports environment.
