Abstract

Business communication is an essential skill in the worl of work, especially in the field of services that require direct interaction with customers. SMK students as prospective workers need to be equipped with an understanding and practice of effective business communication to improve service quality. This activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of SMKN 3 Pontianak students in applying business communication to support quality service. The methods used in this service activity are interactive counseling and case study-based training as well as service practice simulations. Data collection was done through direct observation and questionnaires before and after the activity to measure the improvement od students understanding. The data were analyzed descriptively to see the effectiveness of the program provided. The results of this activity showed significant improvement in business communication concepts and their application in real service situations. Students also showed better ability in conveying information professionally, being polite and handling customer complaints constructively.

Abstract

A low understanding of digital financial management, the risks of online fraud, and the legal aspects of digital transactions prompted the Community Service Program themed “Smart Finance, Risk-Free: Workshop on Financial and Digital Legal Literacy for PKK Mothers in Sui Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency.” The main objective of this activity is to enhance the understanding and skills of PKK mothers in managing finances digitally in a safe and efficient manner, to raise awareness about the dangers of online fraud and prevention methods, and to provide knowledge about personal data protection and digital legal aspects. The method used is an interactive workshop that includes material presentation, discussions, and hands-on practice with financial applications. The targeted outcomes include an increase in participants' understanding, as measured by pre-test and post-test results, with a minimum improvement of 20% in financial literacy and 15% in digital legal literacy. Additional outcomes include documentation of the activities in the form of a video uploaded to online mass media platforms and the publication of the results in a scientific journal on PKM. This program equips participants to be able to optimally utilize digital technology and avoid financial and legal risks.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of profitability and dividend policy on the firm value of property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period 2020-2023. Profitability is measured using Return on Equity (ROE), dividend policy using Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR), and firm value using Price to Book Value (PBV). The study employs a panel data regression method with financial report data from BEI, analyzed using E-Views. The research sample consists of 19 companies that consistently distributed dividends from a total population of 92 companies. The results show that profitability (ROE) has a negative and significant impact on firm value (PBV). Meanwhile, dividend policy (DPR) does not have a significant impact on firm value. However, simultaneously, profitability and dividend policy significantly influence firm value

Abstract

This research is important in understanding how human behavior is influenced by the intersection of materialistic values and happiness. The relationship between love of money and happiness often results in complex dynamics. Spirituality as a harmonizer offers a solution to manage the relationship between materialism and happiness. This study aims to explore how human spiritual intelligence can harmonize the love of money with the purpose of human life, namely, happiness. The method in this study uses a quantitative approach with analysis techniques using moderated regression analysis (MRA). The results of this study indicate that love of money has no significant effect on happiness, and spiritual intelligence strengthens the relationship between love of money and happiness.

Abstract

Sektor penerbangan memainkan peranan penting dalam mobilitas masyarakat dan perekonomian sebuah wilayah. Dalam persaingan yang semakin ketat, memberikan layanan prima merupakan bagian penting dari meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan dan mempertahankan loyalitas pelanggan. Kegiatan ini dilatar belakangi oleh tantangan yang dihadapi oleh industri penerbangan dalam memenuhi harapan pelanggan yang terus berkembang. Masih ditemukan keluhan pelanggan terkait kualitas layanan, kurangnya empati, lambatnya penanganan keluhan dan ketidakjelasan komunikasi. Oleh karena itu, program pelatihan berbasis partisipasi ini dirancang untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan peserta sekaligus memberikan wawasan komprehensif tentang elemen utama service excellence. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Jumlah peserta dalam program ini adalah 10 orang yang berasal dari Dirgantara Flight School Pontianak. Hasil dari program kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dari wawasan dan pengetahuan mendalam akan layanan prima yang awalnya berada pada nilai rata -rata 56.5 atau cukup setelah diberikan materi, diskusi dan roleplay menjadi 80 atau baik. Kesimpulan program ini adalah pelatihan ini memberikan dampak yang sangat positif terhadap penigkatan kompetensi peserta dalam mengimplementasikan layanan prima di industri penerbangan di Kota Pontianak dan terus dilakukan secara konsisten untuk meningkatkan daya saing.

Abstract

Dalam era globalisasi dan persaingan bisnis yang semakin ketat, keberlanjutan menjadi kunci penting dalam mempertahankan dan meningkatkan posisi bisnis. Melalui pengabdian pada masyarakat ini, kami berusaha untuk menyadarkan masyarakat tentang pentingnya implementasi prinsip-prinsip keberlanjutan dalam bisnis. Kami membahas berbagai strategi dan inovasi yang dapat digunakan oleh perusahaan untuk mencapai keberlanjutan, serta tantangan dan hambatan yang mungkin dihadapi. Tujuan utama dari pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk mempromosikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana keberlanjutan dapat menjadi faktor kompetitif dalam bisnis dan bagaimana masyarakat dapat berperan dalam mendorong perubahan ini. Kami berharap bahwa pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dapat menjadi sumber informasi yang berharga bagi para pemangku kepentingan dalam bisnis dan masyarakat pada umumnya.

Abstract

Adopting e-commerce in the business sector requires technological resources such as IT infrastructure, internet connectivity, software and hardware systems, as well as qualified IT personnel which often poses financial challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study investigates whether technology adoption by SMEs translates into competitive advantage and improved performance. The research emphasizes the Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE) framework, which highlights the role of technological readiness, organizational capacity, and environmental factors in shaping competitiveness. Combined with the diffusion of innovation theory, this framework is expected to guide SMEs in developing effective strategies for technology adoption. A quantitative approach was applied using survey methods and data analysis through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Purposive sampling yielded 398 SME respondents across Indonesia. Findings show that entrepreneurial orientation and technological readiness significantly influence SME performance—measured by personal wealth and firm growth—through competitive advantage. Entrepreneurial orientation exhibits a full mediation effect, while technological readiness demonstrates partial mediation. These results suggest that within the TOE framework, technology, organization, and environment must first generate competitive advantage before exerting a significant impact on SME performance. This study confirms that integrating TOE with diffusion of innovation theory provides a strategic foundation for SMEs to adopt technology effectively, enhance competitiveness, and achieve sustainable growth.
