Abstract

Stunting or also known as "short" is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life. Indonesia is one of the top 5 countries with a high number of children under the age of five who are stunted. The results of the 2015 Nutrition Status Monitoring (PSG) in Indonesia showed that the prevalence of stunting children aged 0-23 months was 23.1%. Based on a survey through interviews with parents of students at PAUD ANNA Husada, it was found that many parents of PAUD Anna Husada’s students still did not know about the prevention of stunting and early detection of stunting. Participants in this activity were 35 mothers and 35 toddlers, PAUD Anna Husada, who participated in training activities and early detection of growth and development. While participating in the activity, the mother was very enthusiastic about the material presented. She was also able to take height measurements and enter into tables to detect stunting. The results of early detection of stunting were found that 5 children under the short category and 1 under the very short category. Mothers also understand the concept of preventing stunting through lactation management and complementary feeding.

Abstract

Early detection (screening) aims to detect precancerous changes, if there are changes and are not treated, can cause cancer. IVA is one of the simplest and cheapest cervical cancer screenings to do with high accuracy test results. The problems faced in the field are the lack of knowledge of WUS about early detection of cervical cancer with the IVA method and the low coverage of IVA services at the Jelbuk Public Health Center. This community service activity is to provide counseling about the importance of early cervical cancer screening and continued with IVA examination activities. The conclusion of this activity is that most of the participants' knowledge about cervical cancer and cervical cancer prevention increased and the IVA test results showed 97.3% (36 participants) were negative and 0.7% (1 participant) was suspected of having cervical cancer.

Abstract

Social service is an activity that can increase a sense of solidarity with others, and foster a sense of sympathy to help each other, especially among the community, it is hoped that hand washing can inhibit the entry of germs into the human body through hand intermediaries, almost everyone understands the importance of hand washing. soap but did not get used to doing it right at the crucial moment. This social service activity was carried out at the Asembagus Regional General Hospital on Saturday 18 November 2017 in the Emergency Room, Laboratory, Bougenvile Room, and Orchid Room with a total of 73 participants is to create a sense of solidarity between fellow humans, increase satisfaction with health services, assist the government in disseminating healthy community movement programs, breaking the chain of disease spread and preventing the spread of endemic nosocomial viruses in hospitals. Patients and their families gain knowledge and skills in good hand washing and correct as an effort to prevent disease transmission.

Abstract

Sekitar ± 40% secara global balita umur 1-24 bulan terjadi gangguan pada tahap tumbuh kembang bayi (World Healthy Organitation, 2017). Profil Kesehatan Kabupaten/Kota Medan 2012 menyatakan, pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bayi terdapat 15 % terdapat status gizi kurang. Rangsangan yang bagus pada bayi bisa dilakukan oleh keluarga demi meningkatkan potensi tumbuh kembang secara maksimal. Bentuk rangsangan yang diberikan keluarga untuk balita yaitu pijat bayi. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yaitu semua balita ditimbang berat badannya, lalu mengajari ibu cara pijat bayi dengan benar dengan baby oil dan minyak telon. Setelah 1 minggu melakukan penimbangan Kembali. Hasilnya berat badan bayi yang dipijat Baby oil hamper seluruhnya tetap (92,3%) sedangkan berat badan bayi yang dipijat dengan minyak telon seluruhnya meningkat (100%). Kesimpulan pijat bayi dengan minyak telon lebih efektif meningkatkan berat badan bayi dibandingkan dengan baby oil. Saran bagi ibu-ibu yang memiliki bayi harus memberikan stimulasi (pijat bayi) supaya pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bayi menjadi optimal.

Abstract

ISPA is an Acute Respiratory Infection which is a disease that contributes to a high prevalence of morbidity in toddlers. The purpose of this community service activity is One Word for PISPA (As an effort to Increase Knowledge about Prevention of Acute Respiratory Infections in Toddlers). In this community service, the counseling method used was first a case study on two randomly selected samples, and then continued with the lecture and question and answer method. The media used were audio-visual equipment, and leaflet printed media were distributed to mothers, which contained information about ARI, namely the definition or meaning of ARI, causes of ARI, signs and symptoms of ARI, factors that cause ARI, efforts to prevent ARI. The result of this activity is an increase in mother's knowledge, namely from good knowledge of 10.00% to 60.00%. Keywords: ARI, Toddlers, Infection, Respiratory Tract, Acute Respiratory Tract

Abstract

Kualitas seorang anak dapat dinilai dari proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangan. World Health Organization (WHO) tahun 2010 menyatakan bahwa 5-25% anak-anak usia prasekolah di dunia menderita disfungsi otak minor. Hal ini tentunya akan berpengaruh terhadap aspek perkembangan anak yang terdiri dari 4 aspek yaitu motoric kasar, motoric halus, bahasa, dan social kemandirian. Oleh karena itu orangtua perlu mengupayakan agar anaknya tumbuh dan berkembang optimal sesuai dengan potensi yang dimiliki antara lain melalui upaya Stimulasi, Deteksi dan Intervensi Dini Tumbuh Kembang (SDIDTK) pada balita (Rahayu, 2012). Pelaksanaan SDIDTK pada anak pra sekolah seperti di PAUD adalah salah satu upaya promosi kesehatan pada anak yang tepat untuk mengamati dan mendeteksi dini adanya penyimpangan tumbuh kembang. PAUD merupakan jenjang pendidikan sebelum yang berupaya melakukan pembinaan bagi anak hingga usia 6 tahun dengan memberikan stimulasi pendidikan untuk membantu tumbuh kembang jasmani dan rohani anak sehingga menjadi anak yang berkualitas. Kegiatan SDIDTK pada anak di PAUD Mutiara Idaman ini dilaksanakan selama 1 bulan dimulai dari skrining dan deteksi dini penyimpangan perkembangan dengan Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP). Skrining dilakukan pada anak di kelas dengan bantuan orang tua/pengasuh. Hasil skrining disampaikan kepada orang tua/pengasuh sebagai timbal balik dan rencana tindak lanjut ke depannya

Abstract

Mothers play a pivotal role in supporting the optimal growth and development of toddlers, making maternal knowledge an essential factor in this process. Adequate understanding enables mothers to implement appropriate developmental support strategies. This community service program aimed to enhance maternal knowledge regarding toddler growth and development through the use of the Teman Bunda pocket book. The activity was conducted by administering a pre-test questionnaire, followed by the provision of educational materials utilizing the printed pocket book. Findings demonstrated a significant improvement in maternal knowledge, with the proportion of knowledgeable mothers increasing from 42 (48%) prior to the intervention to 56 (64%) after the intervention. These results indicate that structured education combined with the Teman Bunda pocket book is effective in improving maternal knowledge of toddler growth and development.
