Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the loading and unloading equipment in coal mining activities at the Mahakam Pit, PT Insani Bara Perkasa Site Km 11, East Kalimantan. The research was motivated by the importance of achieving mechanical equipment performance standards according to the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 1827 of 2018. Data were obtained through direct observation and analysis of actual working time and evaluation of operational constraint factors. The results of the analysis showed that before the evaluation, the mechanical availability (MA) value was 87.24%, physical availability (PA) 88.51%, availability utilization (UA) 88.73%, and effective utilization (EU) 78.54%. After evaluating the constraint time, there was an increase in all parameters: MA to 88.71%, PA to 89%, UA increased to 90%, and EU reached 80%. This evaluation also had an impact on increasing the productivity of the loading and unloading equipment from 268.41 bcm/hour to 284.43 bcm/hour. Thus, the evaluation of work obstacles is proven to be effective in increasing the efficiency and productivity of the digging-loading equipment at the research location.

Abstract

Fuel consumption is a necessity in moving mechanical equipment, where fuel consumption is influenced by road conditions, horsepower, and load factors. PT. Mitra Indah Lestari uses Hyundai 480 and Sany750-H excavators. The transport equipment used is Wechai WT90, Tonly TLD90, and Quester CWE 330. This study uses a quantitative method and obtains fuel consumption results, where the fuel consumption of the Hyundai 480 and Sany 750-H excavators is 37.89 liters/hour and 59.91 liters/hour, respectively. The fuel consumption of the Wechai WT90, Tonly TLD90, and Quester CWE 330 transport equipment is 25.19 liters/hour; 27.53 liters/hour; and 10.66 liters/hour, respectively.

Abstract

In rehandling activities In coal processing activities, mechanical tools such as crushers are needed to obtain production results in accordance with the company's desired targets according to the crusher target, therefore in processing it is necessary to carry out precise calculations, so that the ability of the tool (crusher) and know what things greatly affect the production processing process, so that it can be used optimally and has a high efficiency value for optimal production. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the results of the crusher production and the productivity of the support unit during rehandling activities in achieving the production target at ROM Port Area 2 in order to adjust the ability of the tool and other influencing factors with the crusher production target desired by the company. Actual rehandling productivity meets the crusher production plan target of 1100tph. Productivity in each zone with DT wheel 10, namely zone H there are 2 of 120,620 tph and 154,935 tph, zone L of 135,351 tph, zone M of 138,313 tph, zone I of 189,709 tph. And constraints on the crusher during a month that also affect obstacles in rehandling include schedule time with a total time of 176.72 hours, breakdown time with a total time of 4.84 hours, unscheduled time with a total time of 154.62 hours.

Abstract

Mitra Abadi Mahakam as a contractor operating at PT. Bukit Baiduri Energi's jobsite, especially in the Pit A9 area, faces operational challenges related to variations in haul road grades. Differences in road gradients on the overburden hauling route have the potential to cause significant differences in fuel consumption between dump truck units, which ultimately affects the overall efficiency of hauling activities. The study was conducted quantitatively with primary and secondary data requirements and through 3 stages. The study resulted in an average fuel consumption value in loaded conditions of 1.41 liters and in unloaded conditions of 0.18 liters. The average fuel ratio value in loaded conditions was 0.62 liters/second and in unloaded conditions of 0.32 liters/second. The cost of fuel consumption in loaded conditions was Rp. 4,972,800 ($301.92) and in unloaded conditions of Rp. 2,607,360 ($158.30)

Abstract

Acid mine drainage (AMD) is one of the major environmental problems arising from coal mining activities. AMD is formed through the oxidation of sulfide minerals, resulting in acidic water with high concentrations of dissolved heavy metals. This condition is characterized by elevated levels of Fe, Mn, and total suspended solids (TSS), which, if left untreated, can pollute nearby water bodies, damage aquatic ecosystems, and pose risks to human health. Therefore, effective, eco-friendly, and low-cost treatment methods are needed to minimize the negative impacts of AMD. This study aims to investigate the effect of activated carbon derived from sugarcane bagasse as an adsorbent for reducing Fe, Mn, and TSS levels in AMD at the sump of PT Alreksa Bara Mitra. The selection of sugarcane bagasse is based on its abundance as an agro-industrial waste and its high lignocellulosic content, making it a potential raw material for activated carbon. The research involved the preparation of activated carbon through carbonization and activation processes, followed by its application to AMD samples with variations in adsorbent dosage and contact time. Laboratory analyses were conducted to measure the concentrations of Fe, Mn, and TSS before and after treatment. The results showed that sugarcane bagasse-based activated carbon significantly reduced Fe, Mn, and TSS concentrations. The highest removal efficiencies were achieved under optimum conditions, reaching 93.14% for Fe, 95.05% for Mn, and 85.04% for TSS. These findings demonstrate that activated carbon from sugarcane bagasse has a strong adsorption capacity for dissolved metals and suspended solids in AMD. In conclusion, sugarcane bagasse-derived activated carbon has potential as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative for AMD treatment, while simultaneously providing added value to agro-industrial waste. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of more sustainable mine wastewater treatment methods.
