Abstract

In Bengkalis, the challenges faced by the tofu industry are related to the use of mineral-rich, yellow-colored peat water, which often disrupts the quality and consistency of the products. To address this, this research combines Internet of Things (IoT) technology with Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and pH sensors, integrating real-time monitoring and control of water quality and waste processing efficiency. The implementation of IoT enables automatic measurement and management of water and waste conditions, adaptation to fluctuations, and enhanced waste management effectiveness. Initial results show an improvement in water quality with a 20% reduction in TDS and stabilization of pH from 6.5 to 7.4, as well as an increase in waste processing efficiency with a 30% reduction in the volume of waste disposed of. The application of this technology not only supports environmental and economic sustainability in Bengkalis but also offers significant operational cost savings and better compliance with environmental regulations. This finding is expected to encourage the adoption of similar technologies in other tofu industries in areas with similar water conditions, promoting greener and more sustainable production practices.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an early warning system for changes in water quality in fish ponds using the MQTT and Telegram Bot protocols. Poor water quality can cause significant economic losses in fish farming. Therefore, a system is needed that can accurately and quickly detect changes in water quality and provide warnings to fish farmers. The method used in this study involves the installation of sensors that are connected to a microcontroller and a communication system using the MQTT protocol. The sensors used include temperature sensors, pH sensors, turbidity sensors, water level sensors, and salinity sensors. The data obtained from these sensors will be sent via the MQTT protocol to the server connected to Telegram Bot. Telegram Bot is used as an interface for users. This bot will receive data from the server and perform processing to evaluate the water quality in fish ponds. If a significant change in water quality parameters is detected, the bot will send an early warning to fish farmers via Telegram messages. Fish farmers can receive these alerts on their mobile devices, so they can quickly take the necessary action to improve water conditions. The results of this study indicate that the developed early warning system can provide fast and accurate warnings of changes in water quality in fish ponds. With this system, fish farmers can take the necessary actions to prevent losses caused by changes in water quality before more serious damage occurs. In addition, the use of Telegram as a communication platform allows fish farmers to receive alerts on their mobile devices, which increases the responsiveness and convenience of water quality monitoring.

Abstract

Traffic accidents are a serious problem frequently experienced by road users. Accidents do not occur by chance, but are triggered by several factors such as human error, vehicle technical failure (mechanical failure), and poor road conditions. This study aims to design and build a multi-platform Digital Map System for Accident-Prone Areas aimed at assisting the performance of the Bengkalis Traffic Police and providing information to the public on Bengkalis Island. This system is expected to be an innovative solution in accident risk mitigation efforts by presenting accident-prone location data in real-time and easily accessible to various parties. The method used in this study is the Rational Unified Process (RUP), a software development method that is carried out in stages and repeatedly (iteratively). The stages in the RUP include inception, elaboration, construction, and transition, each of which aims to produce a system that suits user needs. Each iteration produces a version of the system that can be tested and evaluated, so that errors or deficiencies can be detected early and effectively corrected. The result of this research is a digital map system equipped with accident-prone location markers based on previous traffic accident data, an early warning system (notification), and integration with GPS devices for navigation. System testing shows that the application can run well on various platforms, including Android mobile devices and the web. The conclusion of this research shows that the developed system can be optimally used by the community, especially on Bengkalis Island, as a means of information and increasing user awareness of traffic accidents.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) are a crucial instrument in village economic development, serving as a vehicle for managing local potential and driving the independence of village communities. However, in practice, many BUMDes still face challenges, particularly in terms of marketing management and transaction recording, which are still carried out manually. This condition also occurs in the Teluk Latak BUMDes, where the limitations of the manual system result in inefficient marketing processes, poorly documented transaction recording, and limited market reach. In response to these challenges, this study aims to design and build a mobile-based BUMDes product sales application that can support business activities in a more modern and integrated manner. The system development method used is Extreme Programming (XP), a software engineering approach oriented towards rapid iteration, close collaboration with users, and continuous testing. The stages in the XP method, such as planning, design, coding, and testing, are systematically applied to ensure the developed application meets user needs. The resulting application is equipped with product management features, online ordering, digital payments, and real-time transaction notifications. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method, which showed that all application functions ran according to requirements and no errors were found during the trial. With this mobile-based sales application, BUMDes is expected to improve transaction management efficiency, expand market access through digital services, and strengthen the competitiveness of local products. Furthermore, the application's implementation has the potential to support sustainable village economic development through the use of information technology.

Abstract

Biometric ticketing systems utilizing fingerprint recognition provide enhanced security and convenience for passenger identification in public transportation. However, the transmission of fingerprint templates over wireless networks without adequate cryptographic protection exposes the system to interception attacks and privacy breaches. This research implements AES-128 encryption in Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) mode to protect fingerprint templates transmitted within an ESP32-based biometric ticketing system. The implementation leverages the ESP32’s integrated mbedTLS library with hardware acceleration to achieve efficient cryptographic operations. Experimental evaluation using 10 fingerprint template samples demonstrates a 100% success rate for encryption-decryption operations. Performance measurements indicate an average encryption latency of 2.30 ms and decryption latency of 2.10 ms, with a data size overhead of 32 bytes (6.25%) due to Initialization Vector (IV) and PKCS7 padding. The results confirm that the proposed encryption scheme effectively secures biometric data transmission while maintaining system responsiveness suitable for real-time applications.
