Abstract

This study aims to develop contextual teaching materials based on the surrounding environment for Grade III Elementary School Mathematics. The development model used is ADDIE, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The needs analysis revealed that both teachers and students require teaching materials relevant to their local environment to enhance mathematical concept understanding. The design phase linked mathematical topics such as arithmetic operations, measurement, and geometry with real-life situations from the students’ surroundings. The developed teaching materials were validated by subject and media experts and tested on Grade III students at SD Negeri 286 Pasaka. Implementation results showed increased student engagement and conceptual understanding. Effectiveness evaluation using n-Gain analysis and student response questionnaires indicated that the developed materials were categorized as "very effective." This research concludes that contextual teaching materials based on the local environment are effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Kekayan hutan di desa Lesten sangat beragam dan berlimpah, namun, pemanfaatannya sebagai sumber pangan alternatif belum dioptimalkan oleh masyarakat setempat. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, ketrampilan, dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan serta pengolahan tumbuhan hutan sebagai sumber pangan alternatif. Kegiatan diawali dengan survey kebutuhan masyarakat, kemudian dilaksanakan melalui tahapan yang meliputi, eksplorasi dan identifikasi tumbuhan hutan, pelatihan dan edukasi, praktik pengolahan, serta monitoring dan eval__uasi. Sebanyak 30 peserta mengikuti program ini. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan hanya 30 persen peserta mampu menyebutkan lebih dari lima jenis tumbuhan hutan yang berpotensi sebagai pangan, sedangkan pada posttest meningkat menjadi 85 persen. Keterampilan pengolahan juga mengalami peningkatan dari 25 persen menjadi 70 persen peserta yang mampu mempraktikkannya dengan benar. Selain itu, masyarakat berhasil membangun kebun percontohan berisi 12 jenis tumbuhan pangan lokal sebagai bentuk keberlanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan edukasi ini berdampak nyata dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, ketahanan pangan, serta kesadaran konservasi masyarakat. Dampak ilmiahnya adalah terdokumentasinya 20 jenis tumbuhan hutan berpotensi pangan yang dapat dijadikan dasar penelitian etnobotani dan pengembangan diversifikasi pangan berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) requires prospective primary school teachers to possess adequate AI literacy and scientific communication skills, particularly in presenting research proposals in an engaging and well-argued manner. Preliminary observations of sixth-semester PGSD (Primary School Teacher Education) students at Bone indicated that 72% experienced difficulties in structuring and delivering their proposals, as reflected in incoherent presentation flow, less communicative visuals, and limited use of digital presentation technologies. This community service program aimed to enhance students’ AI literacy and scientific presentation skills through training on the use of Canvas Gemini as an interactive medium for research proposal presentations. The program employed a participatory–educative approach through stages of socialization, technical training, mentoring, and evaluation, involving 30 PGSD Bone students. Data were collected through observation, a 15-item multiple-choice pretest–posttest, assessment of interactive slide products, and a participant response questionnaire. The results showed an increase in the average score of understanding and skills from 56.4 (pretest) to 88.2 (posttest). Approximately 80% of participants succeeded in producing at least one interactive slide representing the research problem or conceptual framework more coherently, while 94% stated that the training was relevant to their academic needs and 89% expressed interest in using Canvas Gemini for future presentations.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze several mathematical concepts contained in traditional games and traditional foods of the Bugis tribe in Bone Regency. This research is an exploratory-descriptive study with an ethnographic approach. The instrument used in this study is a human instrument, where the researcher is directly related to the research and acts as a data collector. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use an interactive model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that traditional games such as mabbelle, mangngasing, mabendi bendi, mappadekko, and Mappasajang, and traditional foods such as doko doko cangkuli, barongko, and Putri sallang contain mathematical concepts consisting of flat and solid shapes such as squares, rectangles, kites, circles, pyramids, primes, and cubes. These mathematical concepts have relevance to mathematical concepts at elementary and secondary school levels in geometry material. Therefore, traditional games and traditional foods are used as a medium for learning mathematics in schools, especially elementary and secondary schools, so that learning is more innovative and meaningful and as a source of evaluation in learning mathematics related to local culture in the area.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika Siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 10 Sinjai pada soal trigonometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 10 SMA Negeri 10 Sinjai. Jumlah Subjek terdiri dari 3 siswa yang telah terpilih berdasarkan kategori pemecahan masalah tinggi, sedang dan rendah setelah pemberian tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebelumnya. Sehingga penentuan subjek penelitian pada penelitian ini dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive). Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes dan wawancara. Adapun tes yang diguakan adalah Tes Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah yang telah disusun peneliti berdasarkan Teori Polya sedangkan wawancara menggunakan pedoman wawancara yang telah disusun untuk memperdalam informasi terkait kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa tersebut. Analisis data yang digunakan berupa reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa untuk peserta didik dengan kategori tinggi dapat memahami masalah secara tepat dalam mengerjakan soal trigonometri, dapat membuat perencanaan penyelesaian dan mampu menjalankan sesuai tahap pemecahan masalah secara tepat juga dapat membuat kesimpulan dari jawaban yang didapatkan dalam bentuk representasi dan memeriksa kembali untuk memastikan kebenaran jawabannya. Sedangkan siswa dengan kategori sedang cukup baik dalam memahami soal, akan tetapi kadang lupa menuliskan salah satu hal yang diketahui atau yang ditanyakan pada soal trigonometri yang dikerjakan dan dalam menuliskan rumus atau persamaan siswa mampu menuliskan dengan benar, begitupun dalam melaksanakan penyelesaian. Peserta didik kategori sedang juga terkadang lupa membuat kesimpulan dari jawaban yang didapatkan. Sedangkan siswa dengan kategori rendah tidak dapat menjalankan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah seperti memahami masalah, menyusun rencana penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, serta membuat simpulan pada penyelesaian soal trigonometri.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri No.4 Balangnipa. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pada penelitian ini yaitu Pre-experimental Design, bentuk yang digunakan yaitu One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri No.4 Balangnipa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan hasil uji sampel paired t test pada post test menggunakan SPSS 0 diketahui tingkat signifikansinya 0,0005. Nilai signifikansi menunjukan 0,0005 < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak, yang artinya bahwa terdapat peningkatan pemecahan masalah sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran dengan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran. Hasil perolehan rata-rata N-Gain dalam bentuk persen pada ranah kognitif memperoleh hasil rata-rata 73.7221% dengan kategori sangat efektif. Berdasarkan kedua kategori diatas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture efektif dalam mata pelajaran matematika kelas V SD Negeri No.4 Balangnipa pada materi bangun ruang (balok dan kubus).

Abstract

Although students’ understanding of fraction concepts in elementary mathematics has received increasing scholarly attention, research specifically examining the use of manipulative media to improve conceptual understanding in rural primary school contexts remains limited. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of manipulative media in enhancing students’ understanding of fraction concepts at SDN 38 Bonto Perak, Pangkep Regency. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was employed, involving 20 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through achievement tests, observation sheets, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The findings indicate that the use of manipulative media improved students’ conceptual understanding of fractions, as reflected in an increase in the average score from 62 in Cycle I to 82 in Cycle II and an improvement in learning mastery from 45% to 85%. These results suggest that manipulative media can facilitate hands-on and meaningful learning by helping students construct a clearer understanding of abstract fraction concepts. This study contributes to the literature on constructivist learning and elementary mathematics education by providing empirical evidence on the role of manipulative media in strengthening conceptual understanding. Practically, the findings imply that teachers should integrate manipulative media consistently into classroom instruction to enhance student engagement, conceptual comprehension, and mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve understanding and ethics in the use of social media as an effort to foster a responsible generation among students. This activity was carried out online via Zoom Cloud Meeting, involving students at Campus VI of the Elementary School Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Education, Makassar State University. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, there was a significant increase in participants' understanding of the appropriate and responsible use of social media, as well as their awareness of the importance of implementing ethics in interacting on social media. This activity successfully increased the understanding and ethics of social media use in fostering a responsible generation. This program is expected to serve as a reference or model in efforts to improve social media literacy and ethics among students in facing the dynamics of communication in the digital era.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that is a frightening specter for students. Mathematics is considered a difficult science to understand that requires early handling because it will affect the next academic career level. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of clinical scaffolding in mathematics learning for elementary school students. This study was an experimental study with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were 19 fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Balangnipa. Data collection techniques used observation sheets and mathematical concept understanding tests. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis to determine the effectiveness criteria. The results showed that there was an increase in students' mathematical concept understanding ability tests after the implementation of clinical scaffolding, namely the n-gain value was in the high category, and student activity in learning through clinical scaffolding met the ideal time percentage. Based on these results, it can be seen that learning with clinical scaffolding is effectively applied in mathematics learning for elementary school students.
