Abstract

In general, academic stress can be said as stress that comes from academic activities, academic stress has a variety of negative impacts, such as decreased academic achievement, procrastination, health problems, sleep disorders (insomnia), smartphone addiction, suicide and others. According to the theory (Heiman & Kariv, 2005) Stress is caused by certain things, one of which is stress that occurs in students, namely stress that comes from within the individual, such as physical conditions, motivation, and the type of personality of the student himself, while those that come from outside the individual, such as family, work, facilities, environment, lecturers, and others. Researchers found problems related to the identification of academic stressors in third-year students, there are students who are burdened because of too many exams, students get an excessive load of lecture assignments, declining academic achievement, there are students who are unable to manage lecture time and organizations on campus. The purpose of this study was to identify academic stressors in third-year students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Jambi University. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. Discussing the identification of academic stressors, this involved several students who became sources with the criteria of feeling stress about the world of lectures, which can be concluded that the cause of stress symptoms is felt because of the many demands of lecture assignments, fear of failure, overthinking with lectures, and ultimately can cause academic stress in students.

Abstract

The ability to manage emotions is an important aspect in the psychological development of students in the early adulthood phase. The family environment, especially the level of family harmony, is often seen as a factor that influences an individual's emotional development. However, empirical findings show that the relationship between family harmony and the ability to manage emotions is not always positive. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family harmony and the ability to manage emotions in students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Jambi University, Class of 2023. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study population consisted of 101 students and all were sampled through a total sampling technique, with the limitation of the sample of students coming from complete nuclear families. The research instruments were a family harmony scale and an emotion management scale that had met validity and reliability tests. Data analysis was carried out using Pearson Product Moment correlation with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The results showed a negative and significant relationship between family harmony and the ability to manage emotions (r = -0.258; p = 0.009). These findings indicate that high family harmony is not always followed by high emotion management abilities in students. The results of this study are expected to provide theoretical contributions to the study of family psychology and practical implications for guidance and counseling services in higher education.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa dampak signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pada perilaku dan interaksi sosial remaja. Salah satu tantangan yang muncul adalah meningkatnya kasus cyber sexual harassment, yang dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan mental dan emosional remaja. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan psikoedukasi cyber seksual harrassment sebagai pencegahan tindak kejahatan seksual pada remaja di era digital. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMP N 30 Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi. Sasaran kegiatan adalah para siswa dengan berjumlah 34 orang. Psikoedukasi sebagai strategi pencegahan tindak kejahatan seksual di era digital, dengan fokus pada penguatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran remaja mengenai bahaya dan cara melindungi diri dari kekerasan seksual online. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini melibatkan serangkaian kegiatan edukatif yaitu workshop dan penyuluhan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman remaja mengenai cyber sexual harassment. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa psikoedukasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan kemampuan remaja untuk mengenali serta melawan potensi ancaman seksual di dunia maya. Pendekatan psikoedukasi adalah kunci dalam upaya pencegahan tindak kejahatan seksual di era digital, dengan penekanan pada peran aktif pendidik dan orang tua dalam mendukung pendidikan seksual yang sehat dan aman bagi remaja.
