Abstract

Student affairs often has difficulty in determining students that are sent to events because of many outstanding students at the institution. So far, the sending of students is still intuitive and subjective. Therefore, this research aims to design and build a decision support system that can provide advice to determine the best student that will be sent to the event. In this research, the method of decision support system that is used is a combination of AHP and Promethee. In implementation, AHP is executed to get criteria weight. After that, Promethee is executed to determine the order of candidates priority. The purpose of combination is to increase the quality of advice about the selection of students. The result of research shows that with the decision support system that is built, student affairs can choose the students that are sent to events more quickly, accurately, and objectively. Gist-The student affairs department often has difficulty in determining outstanding students who will be sent to events due to the large number of outstanding students in the institution. Due to the absence of a decision support system, sending students so far is still intuitive and subjective. Therefore, this research aims to design and build a decision support system that can provide advice to determine the best students to be sent to the event. In this case, the decision support system method used is a combination of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Promethee. In its application, AHP is run first to get the weight of the criteria. After that, Promethee is run to determine the priority order of prospective event participants. The purpose of this combination is to improve the quality of student selection advice. The results showed that with this decision support system, the student affairs department can select students who are sent to an event more quickly, precisely, and objectively.

Abstract

This study is applied research. It is focus in development materials teaching course of calculus many variable basic on discovery learning model. In this research used developing 4D (define, design, develop, and disseminate). Destination research is for determine how to validity from development materials teaching course of calculus many variable basic on discovery learning model, and how to effectiveness in development of teaching material courses of calculus many variable basic on discovery learning model. The result of the research is teaching material courses of calculus many variable on discovery learning model. The result of research materials teaching course validated by experts. Result of validity is calculated with average for each indicator. Therefore effectiveness its calculate with means of  student response to materials teaching course. In this research result that materials teaching course is valid. Therefore, student response result is 94.45%, it means the effectiveness of teaching material course is very good.

Abstract

The formulations of the study conclude into two aspects, that are: (1) How effective problem-based introduction (PBI) model for mathematics education students' motivation FKIP UMSU; (2) Does the learning model through Problem-Based Introduction provides a significant improvement on students' motivation. The objectives of this study were: (1) To determine the effectiveness of the problem-based introduction (PBI) model on mathematics education students' motivation in FKIP UMSU, (2) To increase the motivation for mathematics education students to FKIP UMSU through a problem-based introduction (PBI) model. From the results of the research carried out by developing a learning device based on a problem-based introduction (PBI) model to improve the learning motivation of mathematics education students at FKIP UMSU. From the hypothesis calculation data obtained t count > t table is 4,803 > 2,005 so that Ho rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

Abstract

The integration of digital technology in mathematics education holds immense potential to transform abstract concepts into concrete experiences. This study explores the impact of an Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning application, Best AR, on enhancing the mathematical competence of fifth-grade students in Malaysia. Conducted in a tutoring center using an exploratory qualitative approach, the research investigates how the interactive features of Best AR—including 3D object simulations, mini-games, and quizzes—support conceptual understanding, engagement, and problem-solving skills, particularly in learning three-dimensional geometry. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that Best AR improved students' ability to visualize and manipulate geometric objects, fostered collaboration, increased motivation, and enhanced logical reasoning. The application’s mobile accessibility and adaptive feedback promoted self-regulated learning, while its gamified elements made mathematics more engaging and enjoyable. Despite challenges in device access and teacher preparedness, the study underscores the potential of AR to bridge gaps in technology integration and enrich mathematics instruction. Implications for curriculum alignment, teacher training, and scalable adoption of AR media in informal learning contexts are discussed.
