Abstract

Abstrak: Problems such as abrasion often make the community alert. This problem is often caused directly by the community itself. The community often forgets or does not know that there are things that can prevent this from happening, such as planting mangrove trees. Therefore, socialization is needed through data by creating a BioMathematics model so that the community can see a simulation of a real phenomenon so that the community is more aware of maintaining and caring for it. This article was done by first modeling the phenomenon that occurs with BioMathematics modeling, then looking for the equilibrium point, Basic Reproduction Number, Stability Theorem, and Numerical Simulation. So that from the model, it can be socialized how to describe a phenomenon and conclusions can be drawn to mitigate risks. The results achieved are that the socialization of BioMathmematics runs smoothly and the community understands that maintaining and caring for mangrove forest resources is very necessary for sustainability. And the community will receive continuous assistance regarding this modeling so that they can be more reliable in seeing the risks that exist in the real world. Kata kunci: Socialization; BioMathematics; Mangrove.  Abstract: Permasalahan seperti abrasi sering membuat kalangan Masyarakat menjadi waspada. Abstract

Kaempferia parviflora Wall. ex Baker (Zingiberaceae), commonly known as black ginger, produces dark purple to black rhizomes rich in bioactive compounds. Conventional propagation of K. parviflora is constrained by limited planting material availability. This study evaluated the effectiveness of various cytokinins for in vitro shoot multiplication of K. parviflora. Nodal explants derived from sterile in vitro stock were cultured on Murashige & Skoog medium supplemented with one of seven treatments: P₀ (no cytokinin), P₁ (1 mg L⁻¹ BAP), P₂ (2 mg L⁻¹ BAP), P₃ (1 mg L⁻¹ kinetin), P₄ (2 mg L⁻¹ kinetin), P₅ (1 mg L⁻¹ TDZ), or P₆ (2 mg L⁻¹ TDZ), with ten replicates per treatment. Parameters recorded after eight weeks included explant survival percentage, shoot number, leaf number, and shoot length. Explant survival averaged 94 % across treatments. Treatment P₆ (2 mg L⁻¹ TDZ) yielded the highest mean shoot number (4.9 ± 2.6 shoots) and leaf number (9.3 ± 2.2 leaves) per explant. The superior performance of low‑concentration TDZ compared to BAP and kinetin shows its high efficacy in promoting cytokinin‑mediated shoot proliferation.

Abstract

Research on Rhacophorus barisani (Harvey, Pemberton & Smith, 2002) has been limited since its formal description in 2002. Since 2017, the IUCN has classified the Barisan Tree Frog as Least Concern, and this species is endemic to the mountain forests of the Bukit Barisan Mountains in Sumatra. Published records are limited to distribution notes and photographs, with no previous reports from Karo Regency, North Sumatra. This study was conducted between September and November 2023 in the Bukit Barisan Grand Forest Park (Tahura) and Gunung Sibuatan Protected Forest. The methods used were Visual Encounter Survey-Night Stream (VES-NS) and purposive sampling. This species was described morphologically and morphometrically, and habitat suitability data were recorded based on abiotic parameters. R. barisani was found in flowing water habitats and still water pools within the forest. R. barisani has three distinct dorsal color patterns: a light brown base color with a yellowish-brown color on the back that does not reach the sides of the body; a uniform yellowish-brown base color with yellow edges and a distinct dorsal pattern and black bands on the limbs; a green base color with scattered brown or black protuberances on the back, and a snout-vent length ranging from 41.9 to 65.7 mm. The habitat suitability of this species occupies riparian and lotic areas. Critically, we confirm that this species is the first record in Karo Regency, representing a new local discovery.

Abstract

Abstract: The Reading And Interaction Console With Kinetic Intelligence – Braille prototype aims to introduce an innovative educational technology for blind students at SLB Negeri Kota Tanjungbalai. The school, under the authority of the Province of North Sumatra, has 111 students across elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels. SLBN Tanjungbalai is led by Mrs. Resti, S.Pd., supported by 13 teachers and 1 administrative staff member. This media integrates an interactive kinesthetic system, binary Braille sensors, and artificial intelligence (AI) capable of recognizing Braille letter patterns based on tactile input and providing real-time voice feedback. Braille letters are converted into six-dot binary codes (Braille-cell), such as A (100000), B (110000), C (100100), D (100110), up to Z (101011). These binary combinations are detected by tactile sensors or push buttons, then processed by an ESP32S connected to a 2004 LCD with I2C, a DFPlayer Mini, and a speaker to produce the corresponding letter sounds. The socialization activity was conducted at SDLB Negeri Kota Tanjungbalai, involving companion teachers and eight blind students. The activities included device demonstration, usage training, and interactive trials. The results show positive responses from both teachers and students, as the media enhances motivation, accuracy, and speed in learning Braille letters. RICKI-Braille proved to be more interactive and adaptive compared to conventional Braille learning media. Keywords: Braille; visually impaired; inclusive learning media; assistive technology inclusive education; Abstrak: Media Reading And Interaction Console With Kinetic Intelligence – Braille versi prototipe bertujuan memperkenalkan inovasi teknologi pendidikan bagi peserta didik tunanetra di SLB Negeri Kota Tanjungbalai. Huruf Braille dikonversi menjadi kode biner enam titik (Braille-cell), misalnya A (100000), B (110000), C (100100), D (100110), dan seterusnya hingga Z (101011).
