Abstract

Background: Prospective workers need to have good work performance to be able to increase competitiveness and work productivity. Candidates who have the ability to monitor their emotions will find it easier to achieve good performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of emotional intelligence organizations to work performance of prospective workers. Methods: Quantitative method was used in this study with ex post facto as the research design. The subjects of this study were 155 trainees at Semarang Job Training Center 1 class of 2023. In this study, the hypothesis was tested using a simple linear regression test. Finding: This study found the level of organizational emotional intelligence of trainees is in the low category, the level of job performance is in the low category, and emotional intelligence organizations has a positive influence on the job performance of trainees. This research found that trainees with high emotional intelligence at work have good performance, and vice versa. Conclusion: Further researchers can use other methods to obtain more comprehensive results and add or change other variables relevant to job performance. This reaserch suggest that career guidance services play a crucial role in enhancing job performance for job candidates. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides a new perspective on the importance of organizational emotional intelligence in improving the job performance of prospective workers. This study offers insights that can be directly applied in developing training programs at the Job Training Center, focusing on improving emotional intelligence to increase the competitiveness and productivity of prospective workers in a competitive labour market.

Abstract

Resilience is important for students to rise from stressful events such as cognitive rumination. Cognitive rumination makes students trapped in contemplation about their problems, resulting in students becoming unproductive. Therefore, this study aims to see the effect of resilience on cognitive rumination of Faculty of Education and Psychology Universitas Negeri Semarang and Faculty of Teaching and Education Universitas Bengkulu students. Quantitative methods were used in this study with an ex-post facto design. The population in this study is FEP UNNES and FETT UNIB students. A total of 320 FEP UNNES students and 292 FETT UNIB students were used as samples with purposive random sampling techniques. The data collection technique used a psychological scale of resilience (24 items) and a psychological scale of cognitive rumination (27 items). Hypotheses are tested and analyzed using simple regression analysis techniques. The results of this study showed that resilience had a significant negative effect on students' cognitive rumination (R=.890, R2=.793, β=-.890, t=112.605, and p<0.001). These results mean that resilience contributes 79,3% to cognitive rumination, so students who have high resilience are not easy to get caught up in negative rumination and remain productive in carrying out their academic activities. Further implications of this research for the field of guidance and counseling studies in higher education are to provide an initial foundation for digging deeper into aspects that can increase resilience in college students through experimental research. Researchers recommend looking at other perspectives of the subjects studied. For example, by adding a gender moderator variable to see differences in levels of resilience between male and female. In addition, expanding the range of research subjects to a wider range will further increase the generalizability of research with different sampling techniques.

Abstract

This study synthesizes the literature on positive self-talk in adolescents. The research aimed to comprehensively understand descriptive forms and strategies to increase positive self-talk in adolescents. The method used in this research was Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by searching relevant articles through Scopus, Taylor & Francis Group, and Sage databases. The search was limited based on predetermined inclusion criteria, and 30 articles were obtained by peer review. The research design used was Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analytics (PRISMA). The results demonstrated that the form of positive self-talk in adolescents varies and can be applied to cultivate self-talk habits that are goal-directed, rational, affective, cognitive, motivational, and have psychological functions. Strategies to improve self-talk include using gestures through repetitive practice, mental rehearsal, cognitive interventions, and using first or second-person pronouns. Furthermore, strategies to increase self-talk can be implemented using video modelling examples and naturalistic videos.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of learning facilities on the academic performance of visually impaired students at the State Islamic University of Salatiga. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. The sample included university students, with two visually impaired students as the primary respondents. The findings indicate that learning facilities are generally adequate but still present challenges, particularly in accessing assistive technology and curriculum support. Respondents utilize screen readers to access learning materials and develop adaptive learning strategies, such as discussions with lecturers and audio recordings. Inclusive learning facilities significantly contribute to increasing motivation and academic performance among visually impaired students. This study recommends improving both physical and non-physical facilities and providing special training for educators to create a more inclusive academic environment. These findings support inclusive education policies at the State Islamic University of Salatiga.

Abstract

Group cohesiveness has long been recognised as an important factor in enhancing individual performance in various social and educational contexts. This research aims to explore the role of group cohesiveness on improving student productivity and performance. The main focus of this research is to identify how factors such as trust, communication, and commonality of group goals contribute to group effectiveness in an educational context. This study present a literature review with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework to synthesise the findings from various related studies that have been conducted previously. Critically selected articles were analysed to illustrate the internal and external mechanisms that review the role of group cohesiveness on students' academic productivity and performance. The findings of this study indicate that group cohesiveness has an important and explorative role on students' productivity and performance. The results of this literature synthesis are expected to provide a deeper understanding of how classroom management practices and educational interventions can utilise group cohesiveness to improve learning outcomes. This research provides valuable insights for educators, school administrators and researchers to develop more effective intervention strategies to improve group cohesiveness in classrooms and schools, with the ultimate goal of improving students' academic performance and overall learning experience. Kekompakan kelompok telah lama dikenal sebagai faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja individu dalam berbagai konteks sosial dan pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran kekompakan kelompok terhadap peningkatan produktivitas dan kinerja siswa. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana faktor-faktor seperti kepercayaan, komunikasi, dan kesamaan tujuan kelompok berkontribusi terhadap efektivitas kelompok dalam konteks pendidikan. Penelitian ini menyajikan tinjauan literatur dengan kerangka Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) untuk mensintesis temuan dari berbagai penelitian terkait yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Artikel-artikel yang dipilih secara kritis dianalisis untuk menggambarkan mekanisme internal dan eksternal yang meninjau peran kekompakan kelompok terhadap produktivitas dan kinerja akademik siswa. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kekompakan kelompok mempunyai peran penting dan eksploratif terhadap produktivitas dan kinerja siswa. Hasil sintesis literatur ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang bagaimana praktik pengelolaan kelas dan intervensi pendidikan dapat memanfaatkan kekompakan kelompok untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan berharga bagi para pendidik, administrator sekolah, dan peneliti untuk mengembangkan strategi intervensi yang lebih efektif guna meningkatkan kekompakan kelompok di ruang kelas dan sekolah, dengan tujuan akhir meningkatkan kinerja akademik siswa dan pengalaman belajar secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pendekatan nilai tasamuh (toleransi) dalam pendidikan bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus, khususnya penyandang disabilitas intelektual (tunagrahita). Fokus kajian diarahkan pada strategi pengajaran yang diterapkan oleh para pendidik di Sekolah Berkebutuhan Khusus Rumah Pintar, yang berlokasi di Salatiga, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa, serta studi dokumentasi terhadap arsip dan dokumen sekolah. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode triangulasi sumber, yaitu membandingkan dan mengkonfirmasi data yang diperoleh dari berbagai narasumber (kepala sekolah, guru, siswa) dan dokumen sekolah untuk memastikan validitas dan konsistensi temuan. Pendekatan ini memungkinkan peneliti untuk memperoleh gambaran yang lebih utuh dan obyektif mengenai implementasi nilai-nilai tasamuh dalam praktik pendidikan di sekolah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai tasamuh berhasil diintegrasikan melalui pembelajaran yang dipersonalisasi, pembelajaran kolaboratif, serta penciptaan lingkungan belajar yang suportif. Pendekatan ini terbukti efektif dalam menciptakan suasana kelas yang inklusif, di mana seluruh peserta didik merasa dihargai dan didorong untuk berkembang secara optimal. Penelitian ini juga menekankan pentingnya pelatihan guru serta kerja sama antara sekolah, orang tua, dan masyarakat dalam menumbuhkan nilai-nilai toleransi.Temuan ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi praktik pendidikan inklusif dan dapat menjadi landasan bagi penelitian lanjutan dalam konteks penguatan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama dalam pendidikan anak berkebutuhan khusus.
