Abstract

Anxiety is a significant concern usually experienced by family members, particularly during the admission of their loved one to the Intensive Care Unit. Effective anxiety management is crucial to alleviate the emotional distress experienced by the family members. Purpose to investigate the effect of a combination of instrumental music therapy and lavender aromatherapy on the level of anxiety of patient families in the ICU. Methods a Quantitative study using a quasi-experimental design with a Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design approach, and the instrument used is the ZSAS questionnaire to measure anxiety levels. The sampling technique was carried out using the purposive sampling method involving 54 respondents, divided into 2 groups in the experimental group and the control group. Results combination of instrumental music therapy and lavender aromatherapy significantly influenced the level of anxiety of patient families, with a p value of 0.001 (p <0.05). Conclusion combination of instrumental music therapy and lavender aromatherapy can effectively reduce the level of anxiety of patient families in the ICU room.

Abstract

In order to effectively control hypertension over the long term, self-care is essential. Therefore, evaluating self-care practices among Indonesian individuals with hypertension requires a tool that is both culturally and linguistically acceptable. The aim of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of the Hypertension Self-Care Questionnaire (HSCQ) in Indonesian. The HSCQ was adapted through a systematic translation and cross-cultural adaptation process involving forward translation, synthesis, back translation, expert review, pretesting, and psychometric evaluation. A total of 160 adult patients with hypertension participated in the psychometric evaluation. Construct validity was assessed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with AMOS, while internal consistency was examined using Cronbach’s alpha and corrected item-total correlation (CITC). The 16-item Indonesian HSCQ demonstrated good internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.862. CITC values ranged from 0.321 to 0.657, with all items exceeding the predefined criterion of 0.30. Standardized factor loadings ranged from 0.625 to 0.823. The CFA demonstrated a good-fitting model (χ² = 116.083, df = 94, p = 0.061, CMIN/DF = 1.235, RMSEA = 0.038, GFI = 0.918, CFI = 0.979, and TLI = 0.973). No negative residual variances or standardized factor loadings exceeding 1.00 were identified in the model. The Indonesian version of the HSCQ demonstrated acceptable construct validity and internal consistency, supporting its potential use for assessing hypertension self-care among Indonesian adults with hypertension.

Abstract

Hydrotherapy is a method of treatment and healing using water. In this case the nurse encourages the patient to increase fluid intake orally and monitor fluid status by consuming water to help the process of removing all toxins in the body, including excess sugar. Purpose: to determine whether there is an effect of hydrotherapy (drinking water) on reducing blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This research method is literature review to the method of collecting library data. The data is obtained from previous research. The results of research on 10 database-based journal research articles show that there is an effect of hydrotherapy (drinking water) on reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus as many as 9 journals significantly, and only 1 journal has no significant effect but shows a decrease in average blood sugar from before intervention and after intervention. Conclusion: 9 Journals (90%) There is an effect of giving hydrotherapy to decrease blood sugar levels, P-Value is significant < 0.05 and 1 Journal (1%) there is no effect of giving hydrotherapy to decrease in blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus P Value > 0.05.
